  1. Ah, wild. Can you get the condensed version? I can try to dig it up but I rarely go into the OA forum.
  2. This place has in many ways become about as divisive and vindictive as the real world. You're not missing much here anymore.
  3. Really. I was under the impression that he did layouts. Good to know. There seems to be a lot of grey area around who did the layouts / pencils when Janson started pencilling in the #180's and i thought it was a similar situation with the Dave Mazzuchelli issues but you could be right.
  4. Actually they were called greggy nutsack creases forever. True story. I think kudos to @THE_BEYONDER for coining that term.
  5. I didn't know he drew water towers in several books. What books did he draw them in? Cap 235 he is credited as "water tower consultant" on the first page. Miller had a deep fascination with Hell's Kitchen in NYC. That's why his story arcs with his run in DD / Elektra were set there. Miller's DD was my 1st introduction to NYC's gritty feel as a 12 year old kid (Angel Dust, water towers and gritty streets) and when I arrived in NYC for the 1st time, it was the water towers that fascinated me most and sent me back to my teenage years where I first remembered seeing them in his art. He could often be found hanging out in mid town NYC bars. He loved the area. I think he drew those watertowers in other books as one of his 'motifs' which was rooted in his love for NYC
  6. I remember reading that for the first time and being absolutely thrilled that there was new Miller art in it!
  7. I’ve seen worse get high grades … there’s other threads like yours with similar discrepancies There's no way you've seen worse 9.6s. This book looks like it doesn't belong in this holder. @Brittany M. CGC might want to know about this.
  8. I think if Jeff Bezos doesn't buy it and it doesn't go for a zillion dollars a lot of people are going to be very disappointed.
  9. Nah, there's probably a couple of boardies who have their panties in a twist all the time and have no greater satisfaction in their lives than when they can notify moderators about me.
  10. Except when it comes to my sales threads. List one wrong book and it's removed.
  11. I keep seeing FLASH SALE being advertised but has anyone seen a single Flash for sale? Mods notified.
  12. Haha! I always overpay when I want something because the key really is, I don't want anyone else to have it.
  13. You need to wear your mask at all times. Now where's that dang pic you, lego head?
  14. Some how I feel gay frogs and 5G are involved but just can’t quite connect the dots yet. You forgot astrology and vaccines. But seriously, I understand that correlation is not causation but it was just a thought because it seemed to be two outlier points crossing over at the same point in time.
  15. I prefer to think of it as a mating ritual between suitor and bride. That said, no one put a gun to my head and made me bid. I was happy for the opportunity My comment was in no means a criticism of anyone's purchases. We buy what we love, and quite frankly, if and when it comes time to sell the number in the top left and the Promise Ped designation will carry much more weight than the actual book inside for most buyers. We all own over and undergraded books and I've never looked at my own personal books with an eye towards how well it was graded as I only bought what i was happy to own....and many books I was glad to own because I'd have a tough time owning another copy. Speaking as a dealer now, who submits 1000's of books every year and I see 10,000's of books every year and whenever I see books in holder I can't help but compare them to my own submissions.
  16. You know, I have to wonder how much of the Promise Collection grades were a part of or influenced by the buyout of CGC.
  17. For GA? And Mark. That's why he's still listed as a consultant.
  18. Ah, OK. I didn't factor that in as the heat and humidity has never really bothered me. I've spent a lot of time in Chicago (where jsilverjanet is from) and like Toronto, because they're on the water they're so hot and humid some days in the summer that you can cut the air with a knife. I've spent a lot of time in Florida and have never disliked it. I like Chicago too but it's only really nice in the touristy spots. You wouldn't catch me dead walking the streets out of the shiny and bright areas. As far as bugs, any place with heat has it's vermin and insects. You go to the desert and you have to watch for scorpions and snakes rather than bugs.
  19. Is this meant to be a political statement? Have you seen Sarasota? It's pretty nice.
  20. I'm sure they're just responding due to people notifying. I seem to attract a lot of well meaning notifiers.
  21. This conversation has been going on for hours but amazing how moderation shows up as soon as I do.
