  1. Incredible Huk Annual #1 VF+ 8.5 (NM looking book with 3/4" spine split top spine) Asking $250
  2. Green Lantern #11 VF+ 8.5 - gorgeous copy from an OO collection Asking $200 SOLD!
  3. Going Steady #10 Good 2.0 (VGish copy with a detached cover). A top Baker cover and tough to find. Last year there were a few on eBay. Now there are none. Asking $750
  4. Fantastic Four #48 VG+ 4.5 (1" spine split top of spine, some waviness and creasing, might go 5.0 with a press) Asking $600 SOLD!
  5. Batman #167 NM- 9.2 (book has 9.6 appeal but has a tiny spot in M of Bat Man logo - it's so faint you probably won't see it). Book has exceptionally nice interior paper. If this was a Silver Age Marvel from 1964 you'd be paying 4 figures for it. Asking $250
  6. I am going to be listing several copies of Amazing Spider-man #300 from 6.0 - 9.4 as well as other Copper Age keys in the CA forum shortly.
  7. Amazing Spider-man #13 5.5 COW (book looks VF but has a 1.5 inch spine split at bottom of spine) Asking $800 SOLD!
  8. Action Comics #266 VF 8.0 (exceptionally nice paper - might be White) Asking $200
  9. Anyone who has bought from me knows that I am a tight grader. If I have missed anything or you want to return your raw book just message me. There are no returns on CGC graded books. Where there are significant back cover defects I will include back cover scans. If I haven't included back cover scans it's because the back cover is clean or defects would not show up in the scans. Feel free to message me with any questions or concerns.
  10. Shipping: Certified books, shipping is included within North America, ROW we split it. Raw books, include $10 for shipping within North America. ROW I will split with interested parties. Who wins: Time stamp seals the deal as to who wins regardless of the form of communication (including PM, in the thread, text or phone conversation). A negotiation is not a deal until both sides have agreed on terms. If there is an unconditional posted (or communicated) it will trump all negotiations unless we have already both agreed to terms before the was posted. In that case, the will have been in vain. Except that it will give you street cred and look cool to passers by. No House Of Shame or Probationary members or any others of ill repute. Returns: I am considered a very good grader among my peers ( Here is a link to my kudos thread ) but since even CGC is inconsistent I will not guarantee a CGC grade. I will guarantee to be within one grade increment in either direction - so if I am calling the book a 9.4 it could go 9.2 or 9.6. If it falls outside of those parameters (and it does happen that they go in both directions), I will offer a refund. But I don't expect anyone to complain if I undergraded it. I will accept returns if item is otherwise not as described. Consider all books pressed. Payment: Paypal, bank wire, check or MO.
  11. Used to be a minimum age. Not sure if that's changed.
  12. I think it's worth adding to Cal's post is that this board member Cal is referring to contacted Louise very early on when Louise joined and she did tell Louise that there was a fund raiser on another chat forum for her before she joined here. Two data points do not a trend make but it certainly got me thinking. I did mention it to a few people at the time the fund raiser was going on over her but didn't want to get too deeply involved. Cal might have a point in this whole thing, for which he took a lot of heat.
  13. It's meant to be a family friendly site.
  14. Still impossible to tell. Does the book have staining? Spine split? missing pieces inside? Looks 1.8ish from what I can see in the two (poor) pics but that's just a wild guess.
  15. Because, even within a given grade you can have a range of defects present. Just because one book has an extra defect doesn't automatically make it jump to the next grade.
  16. It's my understanding that this is exactly how CGC grades their books. I haven't seen plenty of books where both corners are disturbed and the majority of pages are fraying personally and I certainly don't get 9.8 grades on those types of books (and I submit a lot of 9.8 candidates). What era are you talking about? This part of the post doesn't make a lot of sense. 1st, you're making the assumption that you're a real collector and people who work for Overstreet and CGC are not. Nothing could be further from the truth. 2nd, the Overstreet Guide was an initiative taken out by Bob Overstreet (who happened to be a lifelong collector) and was one of the only initiatives to publicly make grading somewhat standard. 3rd, you're saying that appearance doesn't matter. Again, nothing could be further from the truth. This is just another post about how CGC does it wrong and your way is better (and that happens a lot around here) but there is generally a reasonable reason as to why certification standards are what they are. They've evolved over nearly two decades.
  17. No you didn't mention age but you seemed just as elitist and judgemental when you suggested that boardies were bashing social media to 'pump' the boards, hence my comment. I'm well aware that post count does not = knowledge. I personally spend most of my life online and I find the boards much more favorable for buying than most social media sites. The self policing of the boards tend to weed out the scams. They also tend to weed out the dbags that lack social skills. One thing I hate is when people don't put in their thread titles what they are selling (or their WTB threads or their discussion threads for that matter). But I agree, it wasn't so bad in the past.
  18. There are plenty of examples where logic doesn't dictate the market. Inertia does. You might be right. I don't care either way.
  19. Except that production defects have been looked upon more favoring since the dawn of the hobby. They're still factored into the grade but because so many books have bindery issues I can understand the reasoning to treat them differently. Why change now?
  20. But what do you guys base your criteria on? Overstreet has been the grading guideline since 1970 and they have allowed for various defects in various grades (and the older the book the larger some defects are allowed by Overstreet). So what is your reasoning?
  21. Absolutely NO way of knowing without knowing more about the book, seeing the back cover, knowing which defects don't know up in a scan. It could be a 3.5 or it could be an incomplete copy.
  22. The moderation policy fluctuates like CGC's grades. But the silliest thing is that often you have no idea why you are being suspended. At least it was like that with the old forum. Not sure if it's like that with the new one.
