  1. Just for entertainment purposes. The thread is sort of legendary now...
  2. Ah yes, the 20 minute workout from the 1980's. Is that where this is from? Looks a lot like it. Leg warmers and all.
  3. My CGC 6.0 oww copy sold on Comiclink for $5200 about a year ago and also looked much nicer than the assigned grade. Definite uptrend, regardless.
  4. Yup. GPA is only part of the picture. I have been getting over GPA for most keys in private sales. Sold two copies of JIM #83 CGC 5.5 this year privately at well over GPA prices....$3500 and $4000.
  5. You don't think they are going to jump again? From what I remember the same thing happened 4 years ago. X-men #1 was flat with 9.0 copies to be had @ $13,000...same with TOS #39, FF #1, ASM #1 etc. The guide just did a massive jump that year and everybody seemed to back off for a bit. Then we had a couple of strong sales and all of a sudden everything doubled in price within a few months. We're nowhere near 2006 prices on keys so things have just leveled off a bit for a correction but I think we will see them jump again come next spring/summer.
  6. It peaked about a year ago and has leveled off a bit. I think that all the keys are going to take off again in the spring. In my experience, whenever the guide does a massive jump there is a slight pull back until people realize that these are the new prices and then the prices on the street begin to escalate.
  7. Perception is a lot of it. The fact that he was able to hold onto the book and not have to move it is going to work in his favor. Do you think the book is worth over $80K now, since it hit that in auction 2 years ago...especially since all the other DC keys have taken off?
  8. Had a bunch of these in REALLY nice shape at the LCS this week. Buddy of mine picked them all up. They were all 9.2/9.4 +
  9. Where and when will this one be for sale? Try the January CL auction. Just sell it to me now.
  10. Forrest, great story! Makes me wish I took the time to talk to him instead of burying my head in the bins and boxes!
  11. Well, just ask Zaid how many years he`s been trying to find a buyer for his 9.2 copy. Well, Showcase #4 is finally picking up a little steam in the lower grades. Now that all the other DC keys are taking off it should put a little wind in Showcase #4 prices as well.
  12. Picked up a few sweet high grade Black cover Picture Frame Marvels recently...here is one that was at my local comic shop.
  13. If money is no object I'd take the best I could get my hands on, so in this case the CGC 7.5 If I was in a tight spot, I'd take a 7.0 and the cash.
  14. How did you send it? He generally doesn't come onto the boards.
  15. I'd love to tell you but it will cost you, teach.
  16. Collecting high grade SA DC is a soul-sapping, spirit-breaking experience. Before or after selling them off? You did very well in accumulating a great collection. Butt kissing flipper.
  17. I'm a lifetime Marvel zombie. Just funnin' with you. (thumbs u
