oh, I think it was resolved... Frank says the books are different, nothing wrong done, his closest board friends support him (although apparently privately, not publicly) 99% of the boards say the books are the same from the compelling visual evidence and frank has lost the trust of 99% of the board... pretty much sums it up Rick, as anybody knows I would want to get along with everyone...I get razzed for it all the time...but those books are 100% identical. There is just no question. Anybody that has owned 1000's and 1000's of books knows that there are no two 100% identical copies. There are books that I have owned dozens and dozens of copies of and I would be able to tell every single one of them apart. That's not the case here. The evidence is pretty simple, in that it's too much of a coincidence that Frank bought a CGC 8.5 and now an exactly identical raw 9.2 is sitting for sale a month later from the same person. In a court of law it would be a slam dunk. Now I'm not that fussed about the fact that he calls it a 9.2. It even looks like a 9.2 from the scan (okay, maybe a 9.1) but what I am fussed about is an outright lie. I can't go against what my eyes show me as naked evidence. If he has friends that are supporting him, then it sounds like a whole new division has been created over this incident and that is what is really, really sad. On the one hand I don't want to lose some board members as friends and on the other hand I can't go against what my eyes are telling me is sitting in front of me.

Just a $500 difference, that's all even with a $500.00 difference Is it not possible that who ever bought or buys the book may believe it to be higher OR lower than the CGC grade of 8.5? I mean come on how many of us have bought a PGX book cracked it out and submitted it to CGC and a different grade higher or lower comes back. Just using that to make a point that grading is very subjuctive and if you asked 20 different people to look at the book in hand I would say you would get a range of 8.0-9.2. I understand that there is a big difference in price. However, if the buyer or potenial buyer agrees with the grade the Dr gave it and is completely happy . Is there anything wrong with that? Its a totally different situation if he sells it as a 9.2 and the buyer is unhappy and wants to return the book. As long as the Dr. refunds the money or adjusts the price accordingly then that would be ok as well IMHO You're missing the point by about a mile. Muscleshark bought a pressed, slabbed 8.5 book - he cracks it, offers up it for sale as 9.2 raw, and doesn't disclose the fact that it was pressed (which I personally don't care about) and that it was previously graded as a 8.5 (which I do care about). If you don't see the blatant dishonesty in that, you shouldn't be selling here on the boards either. On the side of being open minded, I sold a bronze key to Jive who thought it looked much better than the assigned CGC grade and so he gave it a straight resub and it went from a CGC 9.0 to a CGC 9.6. True story. On the topic of this thread, Frank just lied through his teeth without flinching a muscle. They are without a doubt the same book. That's enough for me. I used to and it was really, really pretty. No longer. It had to go when I left my job. I do currently own this though. It's for sale. One grader gave it a 6.0 and I'm thinking about a resub.

I spent a few dollars on custom cut corrugated cardboard backers and super stiff, paperboard envelopes and although it costs me about $2 a package extra for the supplies it makes shipping easy and fast. That's true. But it's sometimes hard to keep my mouth shut, when it seems so obvious that a grade or price is way off. Couldn't there be an allowance for asking if the seller meant VG instead of VF? And I mean asking it publicly, I know I can just send him or her a PM. Speaking for myself, I would not mind an honest question about my grade or price if I listed some stuff for sale. If I felt I got it right I'd just say so. If I was convinced that I'd gotten it wrong I'd either make the appropriate change or remove the comic. Now, all that's different from someone getting out of hand about it, yelling "SCAMMER!!!!!!!" in the dreaded ALL CAPS or whatever. Unreasonable?
