  1. OK gang, just scanning a really nice low to mid grade collection of Fiction House I just picked up. Grades will be in the 2.0-7.0 range with really nice almost white paper on many of them and nice eye appeal. Also many of the books seem to have strong reds and not the orange, washed down look that Fiction House books usually have. I've got the odd Superhero GA war cover book to throw in there as well.
  2. Just a bunch of stuff that has accumulated over the past few years. And desperation. Desperation is a stinky cologne. I've got some hardcovers, softocvers, media props and some other stuff as well. Just not sure how much I want to part with....but I will guarantee that none of them have that smell. Guys, I've got tons of stuff to list but have been really busy lately so I apologize for announcing the sale and not listing anything. Maybe later today or tomorrow. If not, when I get back from Chicago week then. Best, R.
  3. Jennifer Biel was a collaborative effort between Jessica Biel and Jennifer Love Hewitt. I've got video to prove it.
  4. This will go down in the history books. He would've done equally as well if he burned the money Says the guy who sells ultra high grade niche books. Exactly! I sell them, not collect them. Anything that touches my hands now is purely to flip and make a quick buck before the bubble bursts in everyones face. honesty Walking up to your wife and telling her that you'd bag Jennifer Biel (or actress if your choice) if you had the chance is honesty too. Doesn't make it expedient.

  6. It does. What is the keyboard command? PrtSc What if my keyboard does not have those bottoms? Guess I am not cool enough Any keyboard after the 1980's should have it. Some laptops don't. Really? I have a pretty cheap laptop from about 2005 and it has it. I guess I could be wrong.
  7. Whichever is colder and dryer...most likely the basement since you have a dehumidifier. Also the one that fluctuates the least.
  8. Are there any particular grades to aim for or is it not all that important? um. highest grade possible without overpaying. OK. So, say I want GL 7. We established earlier that raw prices for 6.0 are usually $100. Given the current boom in prices, what price would be overpaying for this grade? price for a raw 6.0 is $100 ? No, what Gator said is that right now its around $100 a grade point, so $600 (he mentioned CGC graded copies also). Obviously the higher up you go the rarer the book gets as it is an early 60s DC and that formula probably stops working once you get to the 7.0 and up range. Long term I dont think this book is a big enough key that in 6.0 it should be selling for that much but who knows, maybe the GL movie will just explode. I agree... if one is patient, the book will be back in the $250 range for a fn (thumbs u I just sold one a couple of weeks ago in the fine range for $150 or so.
  9. So when does Andy get back from San Fran?

  11. It's a relatively tough book (no 9.8 copies at all) and it might have been a really nice 9.4 to boot. Why, does someone need a 9.6?
  12. I think its an important piece of information that is irrevocably lost and that is sad. If this place wanted to be a regarded as a serious selling forum that affects market pricing it should be known. It would be nice if it was recorded here in a searchable database, both raw and third party graded, available for both browsing and for GPA to record if they want. I would prefer to know the final selling price and NOT necessarily the buyer if he/she wants to hide that so it shouldn't be a big issue with the buyer Interesting. I like where you're going with this. I do wish GPA made use of sales data from these forums. So many graded comics change hands here every day, it'd boost their database in a wonderful way. That would be nice, but from an administrative point of view it would be a.) a nightmare and b.) easy to manipulate. But all of that aside, it would still be nice to be able to see how much a given book sold for when you're interested. If anyone were going to track anything though, it'd have to be highly unofficial. How do you mean? I started an idea along these lines (having forum sales reported to GPA) about this time last year and just got roasted by a hand full of forum members. I actually did it with good intentions but there are enough people out there to take advantage of the system (by supplying false data) that many people thought it would be a negative thing.
  13. I do? I've hardly been here the past two weeks. your admirer sent this to me, I thought it was a hoot I didn't think it was impossible to admire me.
  14. It's called a commercial invoice and every major shipping company, including Canada Post has their own. You basically fill it out with your shipping and contact info, CGC's shipping and contact info, and a description of what is inside. The form is attached to your package. You keep one copy, the shipping company will keep one copy and CGC receives and returns a copy of the same invoice when your books are sent back to you. I've literally shipped 100's of packages to CGC and never had a problem. The odd time that I have forgotten to add the commercial invoice I was simply charged a small ($15 or so) customs fees. Hope this helps.

  16. The collective IQ here is sad...oh how I used to enjoy real conversation here. It's not much more than a place for people to fart and burp...really. Also, keep in mind that temperature CONSISTENCY matters too. From what I understand, consistency is the biggest factor in the forming of acids and the deterioration of paper. If you cannot control the heat and humidity, the best thing you can do is not allow those two to vary...or minimize it as much as possible. What are your options? Closet was suggested (a micro environment, if you will) but I'd add that it would be best NOT to store a book next to an outside wall if you live in a climate that changes temperature a lot as the wall will change temperature. Micro chamber paper was mentioned and is available from some suppliers. Mylar and Mylites (enclosed, not open top) are great. Put all of these together and you might just have books that will outlast several generations.
  17. Me too, I'd love to see it as well but I guess that's up to the discretion of the seller. (thumbs u
