  6. Dino, love the 7-11 cups you are missing a few
  7. Looking for the following pages from Incredible Hulk annual 5, 199 and 207. Will pay over market value. As always if anyone has a line on any nice Incredible Hulk panel pages from 197, 198 featuring the Hulk I would offer three k.
  8. Dave, very good points regarding why and how we collect comic art
  9. Great covers glen. Frank giacoia really could enhance every artist he inked. Two 50 year old gems. Always loved that Kirby iron man corner box that this cover was the initial time it appeared.
  10. Timing not great. The thread is about the cover.
  11. Mike discussing his stories is not a problem with me. They do have value just because you don't agree is your warped view. Your board title says enough about you not entertaining or interesting.
  12. Bored title of chatzilla perfect for you a lizard with a long tongue.
  13. So mike shares some insider information and his own opinion and we blast him. At least his stories are interesting and entertaining. His perspective is also unique being he actually owned this iconic piece. Regarding said statement about giacoia or for that matter any inker other the penciled artist, all he is trying to point out is art done by one artist penciled and inked may be more valuable. Sheer numbers show that examples that are both penciled and inked are more rare. I like giacoia on almost any artist. If mike wants to save his money for a 2 up cover or even ends up in the hunt or winning this one so what. His candor and stories are entertaining.
  14. Ok I'm glad that you have your own collecting agenda.
  15. The price explosion on many pieces just in the last 10 years, blows holes in any system to box comic art. Following the herd regarding market pricing has proven that to be a costly error. Sometimes by ignoring the individual or others opinions will cost you rather large. Have an open mind regarding your market theory arguments. Following the herd is not always in your best interest. Lastly large or small pond buy what you enjoy.
  16. First the three levels or tiers I do not in anyway subscribe to. We have three volumes of comic art value books that instituted these placements all became outdated quite quickly. I will not argue that comic art is a marketplace. As far as economic stability the needle still looks really good considering that new art moves everyday
  17. What is middle is in the eye of the beholder. How many black hole collections keep values and demand high? Many collectors are still trying to put books back together some going on 2-3 decades to no avail no matter how they beat the bushes or overpay. The real question is why do people call comic art a hobby. Even Stan Lee wanted to open a muesem with marvels holdings.
  18. Also the ff 72 cover was in the new idw ff book. I like the splash much more
  19. Mike , I went on Tuesday really enjoyed the display. Great stuff from the Steve ditko selection on up . I really loved those romita sr sundays . Your large romita sr splash pages also really were superb. Great job of loaning your art for all to see. Hope Friday is a knockout
  20. Ayers probably. Not sure not a title I know well. A big disappointment as far as the pages go 3-5 1970s pages. The avengers hall pages and Peter Parker and amazing spm pages no action sequences no splash pages. Some rom From mtio 99
