    CGC received my package for pressing @ CCS then grading on Thursday and the invoice shows up under my submissions but for service it says MECHANICAL ERROR. Anyone ever have this happen? Not too worried because I'm sure it'll get updated but I thought it was weird.

    Thanks man, I submitted the #1 first print to CCS for pressing then off to CGC so I am hoping for good results!

    Couple of questions about grading the #1 1st print: Do I need to pay for the magazine tier since they are oversized or is it still considered a comic? Do I need to request a blue label because of the sigs? I'm guessing the blue label is going to be the way to go here. I don't get many books graded as you can see.

    Just looked at every TMNT 1 on Heritage's auction archive and a lot of them have the white line on the right edge. I am leaning towards this copy being the real deal due to the blood in the S on turtles though. This all really confusing

    Haha no I am just now seeing this, but yeah the white stripe has me concerned even though I am seeing it on some CGC TMNT 1 scans. At this point I am probably going to pass because it just seems like too big of a gamble. I haven't told the seller though but I have until tomorrow because we were supposed to meet Saturday. I'll continue to research until then.

    A guy contacted me about selling his collection, mostly 80s and 90s indie books. He says he has TMNT 1-5 1st prints signed and sketched by Eastman. I'm not too knowledgeable about these books but I know there are counterfeits out there, just don't know how good they are. I've attached the pics he sent when he was sending pics of the collection. I read on another site the Gobbledygook ad is indicative of the 1st print on TMNT 1. Any insight would be appreciated, thanks.

    I would've been furious lol. I get a lot of those people that want to use you for a FMV though. Luckily haven't made the drive for any so far. That's the bad thing about where I am -- any collection I buy I am driving at least a few hours.

    Well first of all he sounded like Hebert the Pervert on Family Guy. I talked to him 3 or 4 times on the phone before making the 3 hour drive to meet him and each time he would say something like "now don't be expecting to come get all of my rare comics ya hear?" and I'd have to say "those are the ones I am making a 3 hour drive for. Tell me now whether I can buy them or not", and he'd reply "ok I'll make you a good deal". I almost lost it when we had this exact same convo 3 hours later when I was at his house lol.

    Picked up a nice, complete coverless copy today. Having trouble finding past sales on eBay. MyComicShop has a trimmed incomplete coverless DD1 for $350 on eBay. Anyone have any insight on how I should price mine?

    In my time buying collections I have learned that it's NM if there's no bag and gem mint 10 if it's in a bag.

    There's a CGC 9.8 ASM 194 for $1495 on ebay right now so I think she just sorted by highest price for current listings and input that lol. I emailed her back to tell her I'm interested but her prices are out there. I doubt this lead will go anywhere if she has such crazy expectations.

    Received a short and sweet email from a girl asking if I would like a list of her comics for sale. Not every day you get a detailed Excel spreadsheet of 3,500 books, especially with their supposed eBay prices. I feel bad for her if she thinks she is going to get $115,000 for these books.
