Hmmm, I know many people who said after the box was not pulled they had called and it was found and pulled that same business day once they talked to CGC rep.
It probably depends on who you get when you call and how their day is going

Express submission delivered 3/19 and received at CCS on 4/13, hasn't changed status since. Is it worth even calling to see about this or am I just going to get told to keep waiting
Called and a very nice customer service rep said they should be finishing up at CCS shortly. I wonder...does she have any more info than what we have in submission tracking? The wait continues.

Question prompted by another thread: if you're using managed payments and someone opens a claim against you, for example item not received and you lose the case, will eBay pull the funds directly from your bank account or is your account just negative until you sell more items?

Mind me asking what membership tier you have? Like I upgraded from Prem to Elite beginning of year and I feel that I don't experience some of the really crazy waits that others do. Long yes, but not to "is it lost?" point. So wondered if tier might play any role at all in the FIFO sorting.

Once you hit Scheduled For Grading it seems to go pretty quick right?

If Movie's have been announced they are already in. Be ahead of the crowd, not following it.
True, I was thinking they may peak around when they appear in the first trailer or something. Hard to time but I am not actively buying these books to hold, just holding what I already have had for a few years.

I think it's interesting and can see these prices becoming the new norm but I am absolutely taking profit on a lot of my books earlier than I had planned, particularly early X-Men and ASM. I will probably continue to hold books like IH181, GSX1, DD1, and FF5 until they're in the MCU.

Anyone still get leads from Craigslist or is the site just completely dead now?

100% can't agree more on this, it's just a matter of time before the market makes a correction on books like BM 1 & Cap 1 with resto. The old guard ( the I remembers when BM #1 wasn't really all that rare) mentality is going to be a thing of the past on those two books and a few other iconic GA keys imho. For example I bought BM #1 3.5 resto years ago with a great looking cover ( yes it has a purple label & its trimmed "oh god noooooooo":) my intent was to upgrade but the right deal never came around & non resto BM1 are out of this working guys budget. I have valued it at about 25- 30k for several years, thinking that was a fair price based on the market However two weeks ago I was offered 35k & some trade (I declined) as I know I am not going to be bale to replace it & regardless of it's value, being trimmed and having resto it is a dream come true to own & a highlight of my collection.
I always found it strange how restored copies were basically flat in value for the past 5ish years until 2020 when they basically doubled. They still seem undervalued when you consider a 0.5 BM1 still probably sells for ~50% more than a restored 6.0 (I think I remember seeing a 0.5 sell for 80Kish recently which is what I'm referring to).

Grade 9.6: 27.2K down from 31.5K early Apr
Grade 9.2: 14K down from 18.5K late March
Grade 8.5: continues its downward move to 10.35K
Grade 7.5: 7.8K down from 10.2K early Apr
I notice GSX1 starting to come down too. Which makes sense these bronze keys are not rare to begin with, not like SA keys
I wouldn't call books going up 100% and then dropping 10-20% a "bubble burst".

Thought this might be an appropriate place to ask this question. I am getting out of collecting and have several books I now just look at as an extended part of my investing portfolio that I planned to hold until a movie was announced and a price spike occurred. Well, the spike has occurred without the announcement . So my predicament is do I cash out now or continue holding? It is hard to imagine these books going much higher even with a movie announcement...
X-Men 1, X-Men 4, Hulk 181, GSX1, Daredevil 1, FF5
Would you continue to hold these at their current prices or is it time to take some profit?

X-Men 1 5.0 - sold for around $3700 a few years ago, now goes for over 30k

Wow that is great for you. Called first thing, very helpful but replied they are 3-4 days behind at least, not sure how your made it through, unless my presser did not correctly mark the box, which he says he did, also said it would ship the next day for 3 weeks so not sure how confident I am in that. CGC did ask for the tracking number this morning to put a ticket in to find it so fingers crossed one day it shows up.
I called because an Express submission didn't get logged in as received and the response was "oh well". It took 3 weeks just like every other package takes now. As long as it shows as it was delivered I wouldn't worry too much. You may just be stuck in the slow lane.

You can deduct all of those things on Sch C without setting up an LLC.

So storage fees? Insurance? All deductible?
Yes. Also: cell phone, internet, fuel if you travel to buy collections, etc.

You might see a 10-20% dip from current prices but that's not much on books that have increased 300-500% in a year. $300-$600 on a GA book seems more than fair IMO.

Does status change from Received to something else when books are being pressed by CCS
