  1. If you buy a bunch of shippers, you can pack pretty quickly. Of course, then you're also out the cost of those materials.
  2. How do you list a book in a minute? Assuming you're going to provide decent images support a high-grade claim?
  3. I used to have a copy of this. In the '90s, a couple friends and I decided to pool some extra books and start selling at shows. We only did one show before one of my friends basically stopped communicating, and all of the books for shows were in his parents' basement. I had one of these, a silver age X-Men 24, a bunch of early Valiants, and an Amazing #300, along with hundreds of other (probably not all that key) books in the bunch. Would love to have those back.
  4. I'm going through a bunch of my old comics to list on eBay, and came across a few copies of Hulk 392 I bought when they were first released. These have been stored properly ever since, so the color difference isn't due to fading; I remember these being this different when they were new. Figured I'd see if others have examples of drastic color differences during the print process.

  6. I should have said Volume 4, #5. First appearance of the new Doctor Mirage. Television show in development. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=shadowman+5+2013&_in_kw=1&_ex_kw=&_sacat=0&LH_Sold=1&_udlo=&_udhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=10018&_sargn=-1%26saslc%3D1&_salic=1&_sop=13&_dmd=1&_ipg=50&LH_Complete=1&_fosrp=1
  7. Shadowman (Volume 4; 2013 series) are doing well. Valiant variants tend to do fairly well since there aren't many to go around, but the A & B covers are getting heat on this issue as well.
  8. Doctor Mirage back in development. https://deadline.com/2018/12/dr-mirage-drama-based-valiant-comic-development-the-cw-laurie-mccarthy-1202512888/?fbclid=IwAR22Rh4iQbCS-QEFIj3IRvXOFAa-yPsqSc5AUWrlDFGAPQBnsgIloBf43Sc
  9. Reprints in general weren't highly considered collectible, which is why it's tougher to find them in high grade compared to first prints. They became the reader copy, so the first prints weren't damaged.
  10. Well, if that one has it then I guess they're not that harsh? Thanks for posting this BTW; I have a McFarlane issue that appears to be about a 9.6 but has one of these, and feedback I've gotten here suggested CGC would drop it to at least a 9.2 with it.
  11. I like "teaser" to describe a brief appearance that's not tied into the main story of the issue. Like Hulk 180. It teases the next issue. "Teasers" and "cameos" are a subset of brief appearances. Gambit's appearance in the annual is inconsequential, so can be fairly described as a "brief" appearance. The fact that the publishing schedule for annuals necessitated that annual 14 be published before Uncanny 266 is important as well. It's clear from reading the books that the creative intent was to introduce Gambit in Uncanny 266. There's no argument about which book that included Gambit was published first. That's a matter of fact. But which book is more desirable is a matter of opinion, and I think it's clear that that book is Uncanny 266. (And I say this as someone who owns a single copy of 266 – which probably isn't leaving my collection – and six to eight copies of the Annual, two graded as 9.8s, so I have a financial interest in this not being the case.)
  12. Marvel published an entire line of Clive Barker-created superheroes in the early '90s: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Razorline
  13. They made a movie of Saint Sinner? Did the comic ever get a boost from that?
  14. Is NM 14 the issue where she's first *referred to* as Magik?
  15. I've basically been doing the same. Slowly ridding myself of years of accumulated drek, and started separating the newsstands from the directs just to create lots with mostly newsstands.
  16. While looking up some comics on eBay, I noticed this auction. I've never seen a double cover like this before. Anyone else? https://www.ebay.com/itm/STARMAN-5-issue-lot-s-1-2-reverse-double-cover-4-5-10-DC-1988-1989-/362441604411?epid=85428883&hash=item546333fd3b%3Ag%3ACj0AAOSwD-dbpqBI&nma=true&si=sYFZpAP8jgg2HhKdrZ3u8RpT1os%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  17. I don't know if there's a thread specifically for promotional materials in general, but I figured I'd start one. Maybe we can put together a checklist of comic store freebies. Since I started buying comics in the late '80s, I picked up a lot of promotional materials between 1987 and the mid-'90s. Does anyone remember a promotional print of the cover of Doom Patrol 19? I had this up on my wall with other comic posters at the time. It was maybe an 11x17 print on off-white/yellowish paper of the lineart of the cover, uncolored.
