  1. I ended up with 2 of the big monster cover and one of the black cover from my LCS. They don't say which is A or B on them, so I don't know. Also got two of the second print Spread, that is supposedly hard to find. Here in old Bloomington, IN, I might be the only person looking for these!

Look at the barcode on the back. The end part of the code has 5 numbers, which will read either 00211 or 00221. The first three numbers indicate the issue #, the fourth number is the version #, the last is the printing. So assuming version 1 = A and version 2 = B, now you can figure that out.

  2. Is there a checklist somewhere for reprints? Or at the very least a checklist for those in demand? I think I have a few New Mutants 87 reprints, and I usually picked up at least one copy of the other reprints when they were noticeably different from the first print (e.g. gold or silver ink). Usually passed on the DC roman numeral reprints unless I didn't have the first print (which was the case for Superman #50).

  3. It'll be interesting to see if people neg the stuffing out of him if he can't deliver the books this week.

2 of my regular shops I hit up didn't get theirs

I checked 3 stores here, and none of them got it either

Midtown Comics is sold out of # 2, but they only got one cover. Hopefully the other one comes next week.

I was at Times Square at about 4:30 and there were some on the shelf. I noticed with #1 that during one trip they were out of the variant but they it the next time. They probably just need to restock the shelves.

  4.

ASM 265 worth picking up on the cheap?

Has Marvel announced plans for Silver Sable?

Sony announced it is doing a female superhero movie before ASM 3. Might be Black Cat, might be Silver Sable. Granted she's a copper character, so for the purpose of this thread, I will speculate Black Cat. FH was introduced in ASM 2...

DO we know whether the rights to Silver Sable are part of the Spider-man package? I mean, she first appeared in ASM, but then, so did the Punisher. I don't necessarily consider her a "Spider-man character"

  5.

Panzerfaust during the #8-9 stretch sold out in a matter of minutes.

Like 5 minutes after next week's comics were posted on that Wednesday. It was crazy.

And those are worth about less than cover now. Haha

    Wait. Why am I laughing...?

    Hmmm. Worth less than cover?

I will literally buy every copy you have of both issues for cover price. I don't care if you have a few hundred of them, I will take them all. LMK (thumbs u

    I hear you.

Maybe I was a tad too over the top.

I obviously love me some Peter Panzerfaust.

But it just seems I am one of the remaining few after that crazy speculative phase.

That's why we like you. You buy books for the best reason of all, you like them. I figure if you're reading something, its worth taking a shot. My brother is the same kind of guy. (thumbs u

If one is speculating, it's probably always a good idea to stick with books that you like, especially if they're not hugely popular. Sometimes it takes a while for something to catch on. I expect that given some more time, there will be increased demand for Valiant books. They're consistently good and they keep adding top-notch talent.

  6. I posed this question on a reply in the General Thread

So when's a team really a team? When individual players are called up, or when they play together?

Like Avengers "We're not a team, we're a ticking time bomb waiting to explode"

Or the Teen Titans....they weren't a team, but were introduced in DC Comics Presents 26.... and an add to show issue one as well (Just Like Annihilation Conquest 6)

It is an interesting question. When was the Avengers team in the movies matched up in the comics. Were Black Widow and Hawkeye ever on the same team as the Hulk ? I'm betting they were at some point but I can't remember it. My money is on Marvel Presents #3 for the most important GotG appearance outside of their 1st appearance in Marvel Super Heroes #18. 2c

I think the Hulk was only considered a team member in the first issue, so no, never a teammate of Black Widow or Hawkeye.

  7. Was reading the Annihilators Rocket & Groot backup stories for the 1st time today and it turns out that Groot from GOTG isn't the same Groot from TTA 13 so.... what is the 1st appearance of the GOTG Groot?

Fair question since the reason the Hulk Annual #5 isn't taking off is that the Groot in the story was just a robot, so if the Groot in TTA13 isn't the same Groot we all know from GOTG, yeah this is gonna go around in circles

Marvel's wiki says TTA #13. Of course, the first appearance of a character from a race that could essentially be a cutting off a fellow member of the species could complicate things a bit.

  8. which one was printed first?

Brave & Bold 200 was printed 1st & is the obvious first appearance.

I'm certainly not disputing that B&B was printed first. Just pointing out that BATO #1 could end up being a secondary key, as it serves to introduce the new characters, even if they had a prior printed appearance.

  9. So, here's the thing about the Outsiders. While they first appeared in B&B #200, as I remember it (it's been years since I read the story, which if I'm not mistaken is a short portion of the book), the story takes place sometime after the events of the first few issues of Batman and the Outsiders, which tells the story of the formation of the team. So we sort of have a ASM #252/Secret Wars II #8 thing going on, which is that a story which isn't presented as a flashback takes place earlier in continuity than a previously published book. I don't know how much that might affect demand for BATO #1, but I just thought I'd toss it out there.

  10. I've heard that the HTD appearance was was mostly intended to be a meta joke about post-credits scenes, and that there are no plans to actually do anything further. Which fits the character perfectly. So now is probably a great time to dump, slabbed or not.

You are more then happy to share your source.

Maybe he's referring to one of Gunn's recent tweets?

I was discussing the movie with my sister, who is a movie critic. I don't know where she heard that, but certainly she follows the movie industry more and speaks with a lot more people connected to it than I do.

  11. Well, one contributor to Forbes is saying that critics are calling it "possibly" the best, without citing any actual critics.

I have to disagree. It wasn't awful, but it's closer to the bottom of Marvel's productions. It felt more like a batch of one-liners and action that they cobbled together with a plot that isn't particularly innovative. The villains were a little too comic-booky for a movie (or not comic-booky enough; they could have pushed it and just ran with silliness).

I don't understand what you mean by saying the villains were too "comic booky" and then later say they aren't "comic booky" enough. Seems like the majority of people are liking the film so far which is a good sign.

Just that they should have picked a side. If they wanted to be over the top, then go for it, and push the silliness

  13. No, I actually use them to address different product lines and target customers. But you're certainly entitled to your own opinion. :foryou:

Let me quote you regarding my "opinion":

Man FBS get on with it. 100 free listings a month; 8 allowable accounts; do the freaking math. doh! Damn, I belong back in NY with my roots, instead of out here in sunny California. lol

I'm not arguing with you, my friend, just disagreeing. (thumbs u

Seems you're also disagreeing with yourself from a few posts back.

Seems like you have a pole up your butt.

    Well, that's mature.

  14. Rick Remenders Fear Agent seems to be getting hot, maybe people finally realize how awesome this book is. #1 sells well at $25-30.

It helps that Remenders is getting some good exposure with Captain America, Black Science, and now Low. I don't have an opinion on Captain America; but I love Black Science, have high hopes for Low, and always thought Fear Agent was an underrated book. Issue 3 and 4 are not easy to find.

But no love for Captain Dingleberry?
