  1. I have to list a few more on ebay, I have easily 10-15 copies of this book. Wow. Even raws are selling for $9.99 consistently. Time to back up the truck and dump them if you have some..... I'm trying to pare down my collection a bit. Pretty sure that cosmic Marvel is going to be part of it that goes, considering a lot of it is at a high right now. Just gotta be smart when you sell your books. Marvel cosmic, or anything Marvel really is going to be all over the place inbetween movies and announcements. There might be tonnage of some books out there, but its all about what the supply is when the uptick in demand blows in with the wind. True supply doesnt seem to matter these days. Waiting for a better deal? No way ,I want it now! Whatever happens to be out there for sale during that window wins. Yeah. I'm kicking myself now for not getting my GotG 2008 #1 slabbed recently. And my 2 1990 GotG #1s.

  3. Pics, please. If not mentioned, X-Men: Alpha has a second printing, without the chromium cover. Mycomicshop.com also lists Ka-Zar #1 (1997) as a second print, but I'm not sure. The UPC code ends with 00121, which normally means it is a variant cover. A second print would usually be 00112, correct? I guess the indicia would be definitive. "2nd print" "1st print" There were three versions of Ka-Zar (1997) #1 Newsstand Edition - Black Background Direct Edition (A) - White Background (pictured above) Direct Edition (B) - Black Background (pictured above) All three were released 5/1/1997. I don't believe there was a second print. Issues #2 and #3 also had cover variations #2 A (Regular Cover) #2 B (Alternate Cover #3 A ($1.95 Cover Price) #3 B ($1.99 Cover Price) Issues #1 and #2 should also be price variants. Marvel had newsstand price variants from *about* June of 1996 (I haven't nailed this down) until July of 1997. Newsstands were all (or almost all) $1.99, while Direct editions were $1.95. And at this point, Marvel was issuing variants for their #2s across the board, beginning in 1997. The "variant" is the book with "2" in the UPC code, but they were all issued in 50/50 formats, so neither is rarer for any of them. I have yet to see any sort of demand for any of these variants, one over the other. I remember plenty of 2 variants around that time. I think Marvel just wanted to avoid such a sharp drop in numbers at the beginning of a run.
  4. Cool beans! Will you have a table, or will there be a 215Ink setup? (Or both?)
  5. What is this Mythopolis I keep hearing off? Is this some cautionary tale I need to be aware of? Very curious. It doesn't fit you or your book. It came out maybe a year ago and had a great cover. It was a fairly limited print but I don't think anybody read it or suggested reading it. Issue #2 never came out, so you're already up by 100% in production. That, and you have a story to go with the pretty pictures. Don't sweat it. (thumbs u Edit: I still have mine but after 6 months of waiting for #2, I gave up. I bought the first issue but wasn't impressed. Also, there was supposed to be a "deleted scene" that you could find at a URL from the book, but when I checked, the link didn't led to anything.
  6. Pics, please. If not mentioned, X-Men: Alpha has a second printing, without the chromium cover. I think they're both in storage somewhere, so it's going to be a while. Comicspriceguide has an image of the Ka-Zar: http://comicspriceguide.com/titles/ka-zar/scrq And an image of the splash page of Chronicles: http://comicspriceguide.com/titles/x-men-chronicles/rltv Log in required. Yep, but I kinda figured that most people here would have an account for a site like comicspriceguide.

  8. No 181 in the 90's? There was a reprint of the first Hulk/Wolverine story in 1986. Not exactly a second print since there were multiple issues involved. In my mind, this is the difference between "reprint" and "second print": http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20070311011443/marveldatabase/images/6/62/The_Incredible_Hulk_and_Wolverine_Vol_1_1.jpg
  9. Depending on how late we want to go in defining the Copper Age, X-Men Chronicles (1995) #1 was reprinted. I have a reprint of Ka-Zar #1 (1997) as well.
  10. I just read in another thread that apparently Nam #52 had a 2nd print as well. There may be more from this title (keeping in mind that OP specifically mentioned superhero books, but I would guess others are curious too). Pretty sure #52 features the Punisher, so it qualifies (even if the Punisher isn't "super")
  11. Look at the barcode on the back. The end part of the code has 5 numbers, which will read either 00211 or 00221. The first three numbers indicate the issue #, the fourth number is the version #, the last is the printing. So assuming version 1 = A and version 2 = B, now you can figure that out.
  12. Is this final art. Will only the first few have that painted style?
  13. Is there a checklist somewhere for reprints? Or at the very least a checklist for those in demand? I think I have a few New Mutants 87 reprints, and I usually picked up at least one copy of the other reprints when they were noticeably different from the first print (e.g. gold or silver ink). Usually passed on the DC roman numeral reprints unless I didn't have the first print (which was the case for Superman #50).
  14. 2 of my regular shops I hit up didn't get theirs I checked 3 stores here, and none of them got it either Midtown Comics is sold out of # 2, but they only got one cover. Hopefully the other one comes next week. I was at Times Square at about 4:30 and there were some on the shelf. I noticed with #1 that during one trip they were out of the variant but they it the next time. They probably just need to restock the shelves.
  15. I wonder how much that burrito would go for today if you had kept it in mint condition.
  16. ASM 265 worth picking up on the cheap? Has Marvel announced plans for Silver Sable? Sony announced it is doing a female superhero movie before ASM 3. Might be Black Cat, might be Silver Sable. Granted she's a copper character, so for the purpose of this thread, I will speculate Black Cat. FH was introduced in ASM 2... DO we know whether the rights to Silver Sable are part of the Spider-man package? I mean, she first appeared in ASM, but then, so did the Punisher. I don't necessarily consider her a "Spider-man character"

  18. Most people wouldn't recognize Superman from the power set displayed in Action #1, but there is no argument there.
  19. I have sold a couple of NMs for $35 at local shows the past year. People are starting to treat Black Cat like Harley Quinn from the looks of things. Some of the other early Black Cat covers and appearances have started moving well over the same tie period. I wonder how much of this is just expectations that she'll be in costume in the next movie.
  20. Hmmm. Worth less than cover? I will literally buy every copy you have of both issues for cover price. I don't care if you have a few hundred of them, I will take them all. LMK (thumbs u I hear you. Maybe I was a tad too over the top. I obviously love me some Peter Panzerfaust. But it just seems I am one of the remaining few after that crazy speculative phase. That's why we like you. You buy books for the best reason of all, you like them. I figure if you're reading something, its worth taking a shot. My brother is the same kind of guy. (thumbs u If one is speculating, it's probably always a good idea to stick with books that you like, especially if they're not hugely popular. Sometimes it takes a while for something to catch on. I expect that given some more time, there will be increased demand for Valiant books. They're consistently good and they keep adding top-notch talent.
  21. The Wednesday before last Midtown still had a bunch of A and B covers on the shelf. (I didn't look last week.) Previously I had only seen the A cover, so they probably had a pretty decent stock on both covers that they've been using to refill the shelves.
  22. It is an interesting question. When was the Avengers team in the movies matched up in the comics. Were Black Widow and Hawkeye ever on the same team as the Hulk ? I'm betting they were at some point but I can't remember it. My money is on Marvel Presents #3 for the most important GotG appearance outside of their 1st appearance in Marvel Super Heroes #18. I think the Hulk was only considered a team member in the first issue, so no, never a teammate of Black Widow or Hawkeye.
  23. Marvel's wiki says TTA #13. Of course, the first appearance of a character from a race that could essentially be a cutting off a fellow member of the species could complicate things a bit.
  24. Brave & Bold 200 was printed 1st & is the obvious first appearance. I'm certainly not disputing that B&B was printed first. Just pointing out that BATO #1 could end up being a secondary key, as it serves to introduce the new characters, even if they had a prior printed appearance.
