Movement on one books is based on news that something is definitely happened, and the other on speculation that something might be happening that seems increasingly unlikely.

These Zero Hour barcode variants come from collectors sets of all 5 issues. They are harder to find than the regular issues, but still a good amount of them out there. I do love the DCUNIVERSE LOGO though. Same here. I was disappointed when they didn't adopt that as the new DC logo at the time. It was much better than the bullet.

I think the point was that many people have mentioned going into various stores where the owners aren't ordering it or haven't even heard of it. Most people aren't going to plunk down $15 for a new comic that sold for $4 if they haven't been able to read any other issues to know whether they actually want it.

It wasn't a failure, it will turn a profit. Looks like it already did by those numbers. yeah, if the movie theaters didn't take their 50%+ cut of the box office and the studio spent negative $ on prints and ads. this movie would have to have done $300MM WW to break even. The theater's cut changes the longer a movie remains open. Most of the initial money goes to the studio, which is one of the reasons stuff is so expensive at the concession stands

You have it backwards, Demand is a derivative of Supply. When it comes to collectibles, appearance of scarcity can certainly be a catalyst in increasing demand, but there needs to be something going on with the thing in the first place for there to be demand.

And considering the 2nd printing of Outcast is said to be huge, that makes it even more impressive. Good stuff! Issue #1 is 100% speculation, can't give issue #2 away Really? Cuz that also has gone to a second printing. I agree with what has been said tbh. It's very impressive... but at the same time the print run of #1 first print is obviously top heavy and speculation absorbing. There's no harm in comic creators getting a good head start on what they do so that they can keep going and also really get it out there for people to read. 2nd, 3rd, 4th prints etc are sometimes also just another way of squeezing that extra dollar out of people willing to buy into having a completionist run or making sets. Perhaps additional prints are a money making variant in all but actual name? I'm even more surprised with that run that #1 has done so well on the secondary market and not cooled faster. It certainly made me too gunshy to join in with a quick flip. Ah well I really didn't think they were taking any prisoners from the off. The thing is can anyone honestly expect a brand new title to immediately have a 70K+ loyal readership? In other words #1 may always be the book from that series with the highest print run. In the case of Outcast (and some other Skybound books; Manifest Destiny especially comes to mind), they could be creating a variant of sorts with the reprints, but they're choosing to keep the same cover art while adding an indication that it's not the first print. I think that's as reader-friendly as could be expected.

The Rock's movies have turned a profit overall, but they're not necessarily the huge blockbusters that a studio would want. IMO, he does very well in action roles where there is humor. He has great charisma. Straight-up serious action movies probably aren't the best fit for him.

This book could not be given away for 25 years. Now, because of one panel, $6.50. CASH MONEY. That's a pretty big missing corner piece for "high grade"

Annual #3. Deadpool's second appearance doesn't move the needle despite NM #98 being so hot (we point copies of X-Force #2 out to kids who drool over NM #98 when we do shows, and we can't even sell them at $5). I can't think of any Copper second appearances that have broken out; maybe there are some but I can't think of any. Why would second Nightwing be a big deal over any other second appearance? I would be guessing DP's 2nd appearance had a much higher print run, but I understand your logic here. I am trying to think of any other books where the 2nd appearance commands any type of $$ in the modern/copper world. Currently I cant think of any. Isn't Venom's second full appearance ASM #316? That pulls in some money. It's also Venom's first cover, though, so there's that factor to consider.

That's insane. Interesting that it appears the NM copy is cropped smaller than the VG. I don't think it's a case of it being wrapped differently because it looks like the same amount of art is showing on the left.

Why would they pop? If any book in that run should be heating up it would be 10 and 34 I think. Maybe 39 too I always thought #21 had a lot going for it. First Brother Blood, pre-Crisis Monitor appearance, Night Force preview story. All it needs is for either Brother Blood or Night Force to make a go. I like NTT 39 too. White cover, Flash and Robin quit... But for NTT 42 and 43, it would require people to actually want to read their comics for them to pop, and that generally rules out most of the factors that make comics pop. (ref: Marvel Super-heroes 18, first appearance of a bunch of characters NOT in a recent hit movie but still skyrocketed in value) But if you think they will, don't sleep on Annual 3 for the conclusion of the Judas Contract arc. I would far rather pick Annual #3 (2nd Nightwing) over #42 and #43 (not that #42 and #43 are without merit...but Annual #3 is much more important.) doesn't someone think the name nightwing in 43? i know, i'm being silly, thinking of olden times when the story arc actually mattered and the fact that a bunch of important stuff happens in these issues other than a costume change like in 44...people would actually want to collect all 4 parts of a major story arc...silly silly silly. i like the covers on these issues too. Yes, but the proliferation of trades and digital comics means you don't have to collect to read. The collectibility of non-key issues is pretty much going to be limited to people putting together runs.

I dont' think the Marvel Milestone copies of Action 1 sell very well at all. In fact, I don't think anyone has ever sold one. I meant the AF #15, ASM #1, X-Men #1, etc.... well I'm pretty sure the Action #1 reprint hype is fueled by the EBAY sale of the Action 1 CGC 9.0 being sold on ebay. Due to the rarity and high value realized by THAT sale vs the relative commonness of the Marvel keys, it doesn't seem likely that Marvel Milestones and other Marvel reprints will have similar spikes in value. Do you think that there are some bidders (on the reprints) who actually don't know the difference? Perhaps, but there are many that are clearly marked "reprint" in the header that are still going for plenty. I think it's a mistake to list them now. The spike is likely due to the sale of the real thing, and that auction is over. Another one will come up for sale at some point (not a 9.0, sure, but another copy). Get them slabbed now if they're slab-worthy so you're ready when the next real deal gets auctioned.

No, this book has been selling in the $30-50 range for a quite some time. I've sold a couple last year for $40+ With the real thing going for more than $2 million, $50-60 seems like quite the bargain. I hear you! We're trying to figure out what in the heck is going on. Seems the standards are shipping on time while the alts are lagging by one week. Midtown had both versions of #3. They were gone by the time I left, about a half hour after opening.
