  1. I see no logical reason at all to open up a slabbed comic.... you payed to have it graded, or you bought it already slabbed, sooo why open it ?

the handful of comics i have graded and slabbed up are going to stay that way with whatever grade i have. if i decide i'd like to read that issue i'll just search for a digital copy and read it here at work..

Everytime someone opens a slabbed comic, a kitten gets punched.....

  2. found these that caught my eye today over at a big flea market we have here in south florida...

while they aren't were the diamond in the rough. they were something... especially at a $1 a piece... i know Moon Knight is sort of popular with some...

one woman had a few boxes full of Copper age comics, as i ran through them all hoping to find something WOW.. i didn't but i did find a few titles i would have considered however her asking price for $2 bucks a pop was more then i wanted to spend for these $1 books

  3. im 31 years old, started collecting back when i was a youngster which for me would have been the late 80's all throughout the 90s. took a break for a few years and this year i got back into the whole hobby again when i found out Peter Parker became Spider-man again.

as i bought the new series of Spider-man i came to find out both Marvel and DC completely restarted all their series. I started with one of my smaller boxes and low and behold 6 months later the box is full and im ready to relocate all my new series into one of the bigger boxes i have...

  4. Can I ask something? When did this book start commanding over $2 G's in CGC 9.8? Last time I paid attention it was only going for a thousand in said grade.

I don't think it has ever sold for $2,000.

Wrong on that one slugger.... not only are i think at least 2 people asking $2,000 on ebay, but i do recall seeing some when you see what they sold for as well.

Once again it's great if you own one and you can say i have a Comic worth that amount, but if your in the market for one like i just was then it sucks lol

Asking price is a totally different story, Slugger. However, I dont believe there are any GPA recorded sales of a blue label for $2,000. If you can point us in the direction of one that was not captured by GPA, that'd be great. (Thumbs u

I stated that in my post prior, but the most one was sold for on ebay CURRENTLY was $1359.33 and that was won on a bid. i've been eyeing an Amazing #300 since eariler this year and i do recall seeing one sold for $2k. Ebay doesn't have sold prices from 6 months back.

  6. i have a handful of the Spider Ham issues and that particular Marvel Tails. the paper these comics were printed on felt Very brittle... i was almost afraid to look through them as i decided a month or so ago to rebag and board them.

would a marvel tales # 1 and a spider-ham #1 be worth getting graded? i have been thinking about it.

  7. I always liked him back in the day, never had his whole series but i do recall having issue #14 with him and venom out on a island.

If they were to bring him back next considering Moon Knight, Iron First are already out and Deathlok is next to make a come back in Marvel Now then i couldn't see why they wouldn't bring back Darkhawk.

    Let's hope they do.

  8. I have been searching and searching for a good priced ASM#300 in 9.8 grading.... you can't seen to find one anywhere under $1000... i might start considering looking at a 9.6 grading now.

I don't think you can find a 9.8 below 1k now. The book will see a bump once we get more info about the movie. Really wish marvel had the rights.

Deals can be had if you are patient enough. I snagged a 9.8 for a tad under $900 last night. :headbang:

+1 on the movie rights wish

well if one comes up i might decide to jump on it when time is right and so is my money.

As far as someone saying ASM#300 is a common book.... really??? how common are they?? you see them in conventions and in stores for a pretty hefty price. its not like something you'll find in a $1.00 bin.

I think the are reasonably going for $1000-1200 (and unreasonably be hawked on eBay for $1600-2000). Regardless, good luck with the search. They are likely headed up with the Venom movie coming. Hopefully they do a good job with the movie/-script/casting/special effects.

Thing being is how does say a 9.8 sell for about $1000 to almost $1500 dollars more then a 9.6 ?? i don't see the justification.... i feel people are just trying to cash in on this issue is all.

  10. finally had time to take a picture of mine

it's a shame, i really neglected this book years ago.... as i got back into the comic book collecting hobby about 5 or so months back, i was bagging and boarding quite a few of loose comics i had in a sneaker box and the BA#12 was just sitting there. i was literally about to throw it out when i stumbled across finding out that it was a very hot book nowadays.

Who would have thought that something like this from the 90's especially after everyone says 90's comics were just mass produced and worthless, would end up being something rare?

i recall buying it when i was a teenager with my grandmother as well....

Can anybody explain why the version with the barcode is more rare then the ones without?

  11. Very awesome thread i stumbled upon here... i ended up getting rid of a few of my maxx books about a month or so ago, however i ended up keeping my maxx # 1 and the Maxx 1/2 from wizard.

while i love Sam Keith's art work and i did enjoy the Maxx the comic and cartoon, these comics aren't valued at much and can be easily obtained.
