  1. This looked like a great Drinking game! I asked the wife since her drinking buddies have 20 games and she said no. I think Im going to buy it online anyway.
  2. Well for the second week in a row I went to a comic show! I drove 3 hours 20 min to Kansas City from St. Louis for Planet Comicon! I only went on Sunday because it was a last minute decision with my friend. My friend had never been to a Comic Con and he use to collect comics, but hasn't collected since 2005 when he moved. His interest has sparked up since he moved back here and found that Im still collecting. He hasn't really started to collect (yet) but really liked the ASM 55 webhead book. Well he was in luck because Patrick Gleason (artist that did asm 55) was there and he bought the print of the asm 55 along with the green goblin and venom webhead variants. I did bring the copy of asm 55 to get signed that I got from @fastballspecial at his show last week in Indiana. The show floor set up hasn't really changed since I was there last in 2018? I cant remember when I last went. I dont like the way its set up but that could just be me. The one thing I DID NOT like was the $55 for a Sunday only ticket. That seems steep, maybe Im being unfair but that seems like a C2E2 OR NYCCC Sunday ticket price and those are big shows, KC not so much in comparison. The crowd size was nice and manageable and and had penalty of space to move which was nice. I only picked up 2 books and one was an upgrade (WSF 27) the other a Neal Adams Batman (243) I only bought this to try and loosen up my wallet...it didn't work. I didn't do a lot of digging so after looking at the wall books I asked dealers if they had any GA boxes. Only a few did so I looked thought those. I did get to hold a Tomb of Terror 15 CGC 2.5, it was $5500, needless to say its not mine... I did see a few books that piqued my interest but, I didnt really go after them. Guess it was because I was having fun hanging with my friend. Artist ally was nice. I got to meet Patrick Gleason and Dawn McTiege (I dont think thats how's it spelled) I wanted to meet Jim Steranko but I could NOT find my Cap 110! and Plus his sig is $50. He had some nice prints but Im not a prints collector, so just walking up and saying" Hi nice to meet you I enjoy your work" didn't feel right so I just walked by...stupid I know. I did see some pretty cool prints that I liked but like I said I not a prints guy. My friend asked me why i dont buy prints and I didn't have a good answer. Prices. I think another reason for me not buying more was that prices seemed a little high, not outrageous but a little high. I could be wrong. There was a EC book (css 11) that I saw for $495 with a bad spine ,rusty staples. There's a nice VG+ on ebay $400. I saw Batman 234 for $450 but found a better one on ebay for a $100 less and in same grade range. These are only 2 examples, I could be wrong. Im posting wall pics so you tell me if some of the prices were out of line. I did see a few dealers that I have bought from in the past and they said they had a good show, which Im glad to hear. Food, if you ever find yourself in Kansas City and you like BBQ ( I dont like BBQ my friend does) go to Q39! It is BY FAR the BEST BBQ Ive had! I had a Burnt End Bisket Burger... and the BBQ sauce was great!! I know another friend and board member @mwotka had a good time as well, I think he went on Friday. Overall my friend and I had a great time...now some pics!
  3. Ill be doing a show report later tonight in Comics General, Please feel free to add you experience and pics!!
  4. Ive never read any of the GI Joe book but seeing you post them makes me want to read them. But it seems like most are OOP... Also there can NEVER be enough Ninjas!!!
  5. Yes that was me! Glad to meet another boardie. I did get one book from him. It was the Picture stories from American History.
  6. If anyone was thinking of going to this check out some more pics of the show and hear from a few of us that went.
  7. If Im jot mistaken I spoke with you about your recent purchase of the Battlefront’s book?! I dont know which dealer Mark Scott was, was he on the corner in a dark area?
  8. If any other boardies were there feel free to share your thoughts! Maybe next show will have a bigger turn out!
  9. Im a EC comics collector and was able to finish my run of Picture Stories from American History with issue 4! And a EC history type book Foul Play.
  10. There were 2 books that I got to see that were really cool, All New Comics 10 and All Winners 3 remandered.
  11. I forgot to mention dealer prices. From what I saw the prices were reasonable and the dealers seemed like they were all selling pretty well. I saw dealers buy and trade. The biggest book I saw sel was a LBCole Trilling Crime pictured. I wasnt at the table at the time but saw the new owner showing it off and talked a little with him. There was one dealer that had a lot of books that I really wanted but was only able to pick up one from him.
  12. Yesterday I went to the southern Indiana comic book show put on by fellow board member @fastballspecial I drove 3 hours from St Louis and had a good time. Next time Ill have to bring some friends. I met @Azkaban @walclark and @fastballspecial it was finally nice to put faces to the names. The show was all Comic book dealers, no funko only or toys only dealers which was great. There were a few toys and funkos but they were NOT the main thing those dealers were selling. The people I met or talked to were very friendly and gave me some food recommendations in the area. All the dealers were great as well, with a nice overall selection of books available at the show. I did pick up a few books so overall it was a fun experience. I dont know when the next one is, but Id go back to the show if Im available to go. And when I do go back Im going to eat that Pizza place in the mall! Everyone was eating it and it smelled great! That was my only regret.
  13. Pictures stories from American history’s run complete!
  14. I went to a show today in Evansville, Indiana and picked up two EC books, but unfortunately had to leave two other EC books that I was looking at, the dealer and I just couldn’t agree on price.

  17. That sucks to hear! I was looking for the TPB this month. Shirtless Bear fighter 1st series was great!
  18. I thought it looked high price, but I didn’t know if that book had any significance? Or if you are trying to fill a run. Good luck!
