  1. Sorry but i love it here!!! And i feel that I asked a question and got Great information I feel it’s only fair that people are upfront and honest with me that I try to be as upfront and honest with everyone here on the boards!
  2. Same here missing 3 issues for the run, congrats 🎊🎉
  3. Hey So a little more info. With his prices being pretty high and him admitting as much the books were a lot less than his asking prices of over $1000 for all the books. Now i spent less than that but still a fair amount. It was still the most id spent. I don’t have a lot of extra discretionary spending towards Comics. Id like to say that in all honesty and transparency that a few books in the deal I had marked “to flip” (yes the dreaded term that everyone uses and is trying to do) in the deal and hope no one judges or thinks differently of me or my post. So when i sell something im chasing my passion books which are ECs. Everything else is read and release. @Bird here are some of the books. Not all of them as id like to recoup some of the cost to keep the ones itd like to keep. I hope thats fair as a few will be offered here on the boards after I read them.
  4. @Chuck Gower your right ebay isn’t always a good reference for GA! Heck sometimes you cant find any of a book listed or sold.
  5. I should, shouldnt I? So i will try to post them tonight when I get home. Also yesterday I saw this thread was locked, how did that happen and then get unlocked?
  6. I have heard horror stories of lines and everything else and I just don’t think that I would want to go or I would not have fun I would pass on San Diego. Good suggestion.
  7. Well thanks everyone for chiming in. The boards are so great with getting added information and becoming a better collector! As to the deal it went through and it was the most money I’ve ever spent on comic books in one sitting with one dealer. I had a fairly lengthy conversation with the dealer and explained to him where I thought the pricing might be wrong. He was very receptive and told me he had gotten the books in a trade. He didn’t really know how to price the books and he has been sitting on them for a while. I showed him prices via eBay and 0SPG. We came to an agreement and I told him I would have to go get cash because he did not want to except PayPal which that was my fault. When I came back I looked through a couple more of his boxes and found two more books. Again thanks to everyone who chimed in I love the Boards!!
  8. I would love to but I’m only gonna have enough to do one of them and I don’t know if I can do New York.
  9. He does have a few ECs I don’t think those would be a problem they’re priced fairly accurate.
  10. Raw. Ebay recent sales-raw/CGC/ OSPG,also books currently offered in same grade range. Anywhere from $50-$100 plus over both. I dont have GPA, and not sure if it would help much. Is there anywhere you would suggest looking other than those 3 options?
  11. Im glad your back. Thats kind of what i was thinking but wanted to know a good way around just waving cash haha.
  12. Hey guys and gals i was at a con today and saw a dealer with a few books that id like to get. i thought his prices were a little high. The books were in a box off to the side and seemed not to get flipped through because they were GA, his booth was focused towards new/modern. Id like to make and offer but like i said his prices were a little to high. So how would/do you go about buying from someone that you think has overpriced books? Do you ask how he prices them? when do you bring OSPG or ebay into the conversation? Do you walk away with your head down thinking of what could have been? The total for the books would be over $1000 and this would be my first big purchase in bulk so what kind of percentage would be a fair offer? Keep in mind that i think the books are overpriced and my research would suggest that im right.
  13. ok so i added Baltimore to the discussion, as ive hread it mentioned in this thread and ive spoke with 2 dealers at st louis comic con today and they both suggested Baltimore over ECCC. So Baltimore people whats it like? Parking, lines, traffic, hotels, flights? Chime In!!
  14. @KPR Comics yeah i guess youre right. I had a misconception of where it was in relation to the ocean.
  15. @RockMyAmadeus and @BassGMan thanks for both of your opinions, but I didn't want this to be a fight/argument/discussion about the homeless, gentleman. All big cities have theryre problems even here in st louis we have homeless people so that wouldn't be a deciding factor, chicago has homeless as well. I understand what both of you are saying and i would defend my city as well. but lets remember that we are talking about a trip that any homeless person would like to have the money to do. Seattle does seem beautiful and id love to see the space needle and jump in the pacific but id be going for the show mostly. but what i didn't know was that there are multiple levels and that seem odd but i think i would just need the artist floor! and maybe a dealers floor haha. but if your sayin there aren't a lot of dealers that might not warrant me going. i still have 2 months before i could even book a flight let alone make up my mind. and thanks @jsilverjanet there are cool people at c2e2!!
  16. WOW that bad?! when did you go? Also chicago is easy i normally take a round trip train for $55 and walk the mile and a half to the show or get one of the bikes for $3. with all the walking and riding i do i can eat ALL THE Giodanos pizza i want !! Im really asking because last C2E2 wasn't as fun as the last 5 i went to. maybe it was because all the cons were happening in or around the same week i don't know.
  17. Hi guys! I live in St Louis and have been going to C2E2 for the last 6 years. Ive never been to Seattle and have always wanted to go to ECCC. So Im considering going to ECCC but would like some input from people who have been to both or if your just biased! A few things that might help I don’t care about entertainment guests at all I also don’t care much about cosplay. I mainly like comic book dealers and artist alley, that’s where I spend most of my time when I go to C2E2. My one big expense I know if I go to Seattle will be flight is there one that anyone suggests over another my first thought is southwest they’re normally cheap, any opinions on that? Hotel room is not a problem as I would have to pay the same amount whether I was in Chicago or Seattle. I really want to go to Seattle but I would be going by myself and I’ve never been to the West Coast and would not know anything to do outside of seeing the space needle.😁 On the other hand I am very familiar with Chicago and love the city! they’ve got great places to eat and I can get a flight they’re fairly cheap or I could take the train for even cheaper. Any input would be awesome! Thanks
  18. I got 2 awesome books from Mike! Great prices and fast secure shipping!! thanks!
  19. Ive been wanting a copy of this book for awhile now and it was offered in a sales thread and I had to have it! Of course I passed on a 7.0 just to get this one, but hey I loVE my low grade ECs!!!!!!
