  2. This will be a somewhat long post but approximately 10-12 years ago on YouTube I saw a small clip from a movie called "Always: Sunset on Third Street 2" which was directed by Takashi Yamazaki, when I saw the teaser trailer for "Godzilla Minus One" and found out Takashi was doing "Godzilla Minus One" I knew I was going to see this movie multiple times just based on the strength of how well Godzilla looked in "Always: Sunset on Third Street 2"

But when it came out for fan night on November 29th I was utterly blown away by this movie as a whole, the wife and I saw it twice that day and then twice more on the November 30th, since then I have seen this movie 21 times and she has seen it 10. I have taken numerous friends/families to see this movie, and all were driven by my enthusiasm and encouragement to see it. This movie has so much heart and character and emotion that it defies logic for a "monster movie" and even after all these multiple viewings it still packs a punch for me, especially when I take people who haven't seen the movie and get their reaction after the credits roll!

And every last one of them are completely blown away by this movie and most are teary eyed one of my buddies who is a veteran thanked me for telling him because he hadn't heard about it, and he absolutely loved it. The wife and I doubled dated with some friends and his wife was reduced to tears in the latter scenes of the movie, in another viewing I sat with some guys who hadn't seen it and afterwards both of them stated that they were bringing their wives to see it.  Another friend said "Hollywood needs to take some notes from TOHO on how to make a movie", and yet another friend who literally hadn't been in a movie theater in 19 years said it was "freaking awesome."

I just can't say enough about this movie it is without a doubt a masterpiece, one that deserves to be seen on the biggest screen possible and one that deserves to be experienced by as many people as possible even if you are a Godzilla fan or not.  I haven't seen every Godzilla movie, but I've been watching them since the very early 70s and probably seen 80% of them but in terms of human drama, character development, visuals, movie composition, and gut-wrenching emotion this one is tops in my book as it just doesn't get much better than this!

I’ve never really been one to keep multiple copies of books, but being that Doom is my favorite villain, I’m finding the choice difficult.

This right here!... ditch the 181 as I know you're a die-hard Doom fan!  Then go and get yet another FF5 in a spectacular deal that I know only you can find! (thumbsu

That's my copy that just sold on ComicLink. I thought it would go little higher, but the slight chipping and the page quality hurt the finally bid price.

Just for a reference, I purchased the book on the boards in 2014 for $8200. I'm officially out of the club, what's crazy is that I bought two AF 15's here.

Congrats a very solid copy and a great return, almost six-fold in 8 years.

A 3.0 closed at CL today at $48,000, so a "bargain."

Yes it was definitely several thousand cheaper but if the 3.0 had identical page quality and no marvel chipping as the 2.5, I'm pretty certain the 3.0 would've closed for more than $48,000.

On another note the 2.5 possibly could've closed yet higher if not for the tape on the interior cover and interior.

  6. Wow what an incredible story that's awesome Ethan! I know your mind was racing when you found out you had a shot at your friend's collection. But hey man it couldn't of happened to a nicer guy man! I know you'll keep the set and upgrade when you can.  And if I know you it'll not be long before the run is completed...congrats again!

    Peace

    Hey James!

I was going to text you last night and ended up crashing.  It was now or never!  But let me know when you want to give up your 3.0 so I can upgrade lol

    :jokealert:

    Hey Ethan!

Yeah man I'll bet you got tired out admiring that book, that's why you crashed lol. But yeah man you made a definite boss move!  Who knows if/when I upgrade you'll be one of the first people to know! lol

Sacrifices were made.  I have no regrets.  I figured it was now or never for me on this book.  Detached cover, yes.  Chipping, yes sir.  Mine? YES!  Obviously everyone has seen this copy.  I’m proud to finally own the one SA book I really thought that I’d never get.  The weight has been lifted.......

As we've talked before this is the book to get hands down.  Many would give...almost..anything to have this very book in their possession!

See now that you've gotten this one the others will be easier! (thumbsu.  For me when I sift through the silver keys and come to this one it always stands out and has an aura and presence about it that you wouldn't understand until you actually own the book....Congrats man!

Same here. I was able to order 20 of the first print at my LCS but only ordered 1 each of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th printing. The purple 4th is my favorite but the green cover is cool too.

anyone know print run numbers on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th?

Using Comichron I was able to find these numbers. I couldn't find any information on the 4th printing, but it has got to be way, way under 6k....crazy

    1st print...85,156

    2nd print..34,298

    3rd print.....6,824

    4th print....??
