  1. 2.0 = 8 K This is not funny anymore. Il have to suck it up and get a copy soon. This book is only goin one way. I figured i could wait it out. But c est la vie. +1
  2. +1. Love it ! And you only paid 90.00 I see ! You noticed that Bob...yeah sweet deal...for someone else about 20 years ago... Thanks for all the nice comments and general appreciation. Believe me...when Clay Fraser here on the boards gave me an opportunity to buy this book I was on Cloud 9 It's funny, some books are just hard to come by and occasionaly you find them on other sites (other than here on the boards) but I won't bid on Pedigree or Heritage so that pretty much leaves me with CLINK and Metropolis/comicconnect and the grapevine...I don't go to Cons pretty much so when you get an opportunity to get an iconic book such as this in the grade you're after it's pretty sweet... So the blurry scan I had to go from still looked like this book would be hitting on all of my OCD aspects of grade and presentation etc. And the colors looked spectacular. But even as the scan does it quite some justice I was pretty blown away by the colors in hand when this book arrived yesterday. Just eye-popping...wish I had more opportunities to share my books in hand with fellow-boardies. Except for the fuzzy top spine corner and the little CB crease at the bottom right corner this book probably grades out 9.2... Needless to say I am the new happy shephard/guardian of this book moving into the future...I couldn't be happier or more proud... Not surprised that you're the owner of this one, Tom. What a gorgeous copy.
  3. I picked up a couple books that have been on my want list for a while. I've been looking for a copy of 15 for a few months and my patience finally paid off.
  4. I picked up an ASM Annual 1 from Jeff this past week. Fastest shipping from Canada that I've ever seen and the package was bulletproof. It took me 10 minutes to open the box, which is good because it builds the suspense. I wouldn't hesitate to work with Jeff again. Thanks! -Al
  5. Very interesting to read all the back and forth about this book. Still working on picking up my first copy!
  6. I'm working on completing the run too...I like how you broke down your set goals...I never laid my own that specifically but seems to mirror my own balance of budget and grade...I'm not going for all CGC books though...Do you have a time frame by when you would like to complete it? Good Luck! Great minds think alike... I figure that I'll have at least 4 through 50 by the end of the year. AF 15 sales are crazy right now and I may have to wait a year or two to pick one up. Good luck to you too!
  7. Awesome thread. Not sure why I've never noticed it before. I'm just starting after Spidey 1-50 and AF 15. I've got a ways to go! This is how I'm planning my set: -1: 2.0-3.0 -2 through 10: 4.0-6.0 11 through 19: 6.0 20 through 50: 7.0 or higher Already have 13 (7.0), 14 (7.0), 31 (7.0), 39 (8.0), 40 (8.0), 41 (7.5), 46 (7.5). If anyone happens to find any that are on that goal list, please PM me!
  8. Picked up a beautiful copy of NM 87 from Phil this past week. Accurate grading and speedy delivery. Can't ask for anything more. You're quite the guy, Phil. Thanks again!
  9. Collin purchased my Tales of Suspense 12 and was incredibly easy and pleasant to deal with. Nice conversation and immediate payment. Can't ask for a better buyer! Thanks again and enjoy the book! -Al
  10. Rob picked up an FF & DD from my most recent thread. Quick payment and easy to work with. Can't get much better than that! Look forward to doing business again soon. Enjoy the books! (Thumbs u Al

  12. Thanks everyone! You guys should see it at night when everything is lit up.
  13. One of the walls in my comic room. The Spidey in the center was drawn by a friend and it is by far my favorite part of the wall.
  14. I wish you'd post it. I'm tired of this fatbroad trying to rip people off!! I did post it on my Comics General thread, but the mods took it down.
  15. Brock posted a few days ago regarding an Avengers 1 CGC 5.0 and I have some more info on the seller. I posted in the Comics General earlier about this earlier, so here you go: This whole thing started right after Columbia Comics took the Avengers #1 for $1900. Once I saw that price I knew something wasn't quite right, so I sent Relicscity a message to see what else they were planning on selling. They soon replied saying that they had an FF #1 CGC 3.5, Hulk #1 CGC 2.0 and an X-Men 1 CGC 6.5. First, I asked for a price for the FF #1 to which they replied $2900. I wasn't too sure about the sellers intentions at this point in our conversation, so I thought I would help by sending a GPA screenshot of a 3.5 FF 1 and explaining that the picture included recent sales. They completely ignored the screenshot and asked if I would be interested in the Hulk. I asked for a price and scans and they replied $2800 and provided this scan: The copy looked great and I figured out that it sold in 2008 for $1325. Obviously I was thinking this was way to good to be true, but I though I would play it out. I asked for a phone number to discuss the sale and figured they would stop replying, but I did receive a number. I spoke to Tina for about five minutes regarding her books and how she acquired them. Apparently her father passed away and left five to ten slabs for her to sell. She sounded really confused the entire conversation and hung up on me when I asked for the cert number for FF #1. Soon after I received a text with the cert number and an excuse for the "call failure." I also thought it was fishy that her area code was from Tennessee, yet she claimed that she was from Florida. The next day I replied and ask for a second picture of the Hulk 1. I finally received a couple of pictures today: The photoshop job is a little better in the first one. Needless to say, this is a complete scam. Here are some of the other books that may be showing up on the forums soon: Cert #: 0210047001 According to her, the X-Men #1 has been sold on Etsy... Cert #: 0237485001 I'm posting this entire explanation hoping that no one will fall for this scam. Her eBay name is Relics-City. I'm tempted to post her phone number, but it would be better if I didn't. -Al
