  1. Unfortunately the art I would really love to acquire is now far beyond my reach (b&w Frazetta, Watchmen page, Wrightson Frankenstein page) but I'm still hoping for: - a Jeff Jones published b&w page - a Victor de la Fuente published page - a nice Virgil Finlay illustration - a nice bronze age published page with Galactus - maybe some more published pages from Tim Sale, Darwyn Cooke - some art I'm not aware of yet but would catch my eye
  2. A lot of pieces sold for far more than $50k. A Miyazaki shikishi sold for $31M (roughly $300k) in 2018 (see here). An Astro Boy page by Osamu Tezuka sold for 269k€ (roughly $328k), also in 2018 (see here). @Varanis You sometimes find high-end pieces on Heritage and Artcurial, but as others said, your best chance to find manga-related stuff (such as shikishis) is with Mandarake auctions. They have what they call "Everyday auctions" (similar to eBay auctions but with a 5mn time extension system and no buyer's premium) and "Big Web auctions" (every two months, similar to Heritage auctions - live auctions with a prebid period, you need to pay a $5 participation fee to be allowed to bid and buyer's premium is 10%). You can follow both of them on ComicArtTracker Edit: there's a few Tezuka lots on the next Artcurial auction (lots 223-226) - https://www.artcurial.com/en/sale-4027-comic-strips
  3. @Rick2you2 Please PM me if you ever get it again (with a screenshot if you can). @RBerman I just pushed a fix (hopefully). Please tell me if it's ok now! @vodou Same as Rick2You2: please PM me when you get it again, with a screenshot if you can and the URL of the page.
  4. It's not about complaining, it's about helping me to improve ComicArtTracker! If nobody tells me about bugs, they may stay here for a long time. So please send me a message when you find something that looks like a bug. Maybe I won't be able to do anything, but I won't take it personally and at least I'll be aware of it. Regarding your different points: eBay images: Twanj is right about Chrome not accepting anymore to display images that are not served securely on secured websites. That's why you won't see images from some websites on CAT (websites hosted by CAF were also in this case a few weeks ago, so you could see the images on these websites, but not on CAF or CAT). But that's not the case with eBay - they do serve secured images. For eBay the issue is different. I have it from time to time, and when I google about it it seems like it's a known bug on eBay side for at least a few years... can't do anything about it unfortunately! Catawiki items with no text: I don't have this one when I open the Catawiki page (https://comicarttracker.com/catawiki/available-art, text search on "diabolik"), your screenshot was from which page? the page with your daily matching new items? the one about Catawiki auctions? a search results page? (if you can still reproduce it). And what happens if you click on the image to see it fullscreen? Do you have the title at the bottom of the page?
  5. Never easy to fix something when I cannot reproduce it. Do you see any suggestion from Chrome on top of the ones from CAT? I mean, do you have something displayed that should not be here and could "catch" the simple click? I ask that because I just saw that, with Safari, I have the default drop-down menu with suggestions from Safari on top of mines (see below). So do you have something similar?
  6. Thanks for your kind words! The "Trends" page is a new feature from November. I don't track traffic but Google does it for me. It's roughly 40% US, 20% France, 5% UK, 5% Belgium, 5% Canada, 5% Italy (then Spain, Germany, Netherlands...) When I click on a suggestion, it directly opens the search page with the related query (for instance kirby -rip for Jack Kirby), and it's the same if I select it with arrows + enter. I'm on a Mac with Chrome. What is your config?
  7. Should be fixed. Should be fixed. Can you detail? Is it the exact same entry (on a same source), or is it someone who posted the same art on different eBay websites (eg different countries)?
  8. Richard Corben is one of the most searched artists on ComicArtTracker this month (7th) and one of the best progressions (2nd) - unfortunately for a really sad reason https://comicarttracker.com/trends?progression
  9. In fact that's not the same thing: yes I fixed a bug this week-end on searches not working anymore (my bad, it was a stupid mistake) but ZimmermanTelegram is right, I just checked and it's not possible to add a new fav through the Favorite Searches page. New major versions always get their share of regressions, sorry for that, I will hopefully fix it in a couple of hours max.
  10. You're right, it seems like it's increasing too quickly. I'll check that, thanks for having spotted this!
  11. Sold for $240k two years ago on Heritage... https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/covers/gene-colan-and-bill-everett-iron-man-and-sub-mariner-1-cover-original-art-marvel-1968-/a/7189-92042.s
  12. It's a commission on a shikishi board, so it can be a real one. A similar (but nicer) one sold in 2017 on Heritage for $2270 - https://comicarttracker.com/goseki-kojima-original-art-for-sale
  13. Basically, it's nearly impossible to get a published page. You can still find nice artworks from time to time, mainly on Mandarake Auctions (they have several "Big Web" auctions a year where all the nice art is), and from time to time on Heritage or Artcurial. But prices are really high. You can have more details about manga art here: https://comicarttracker.com/faq-en/collecting-original-comic-art/where-can-i-buy-manga-original-artwork ... and see some results for Mandarake Big Web auctions here: https://comicarttracker.com/mandarake-big-web-auctions
  14. Unfortunately this block had several internal issues with the thumbnails. But if it's the kind of information you want to start with, why don't you bookmark the "new art by source" page? https://comicarttracker.com/new-art-by-source Ok you don't have a thumbnail to illustrate each source, but you have the sources sorted by last update descending + the number of items. Or you could start on the My Notifications page https://comicarttracker.com/my-notifications ? Thanks for your support! Regarding your emails not showing up anymore, the most probable reason would be that you clicked on the "spam" once (by mistake ^^) and now the third party service I use to send emails do not send yours anymore. https://comicarttracker.com/faq-en/comicarttracker/i-dont-receive-my-daily-alerts-by-email-anymore Send me a PM with the email address you use on CAT and I'll check.
  15. They messed up with my database but CAT should be back and running! Crossing my fingers.
  16. ComicArtTracker is down but it's not related to the new version: ComicArtTracker's hosting provider has some issues right now, they are working on it, hope it won't take too long.
  17. What is this 'old' banner? Are you talking about the first row of images on the home page? Where there used to be the last sources with new listed art. When you scroll down you have a progress at the top of the page. I'm considering adding a counter as well.
  18. Thanks! I see what you mean about this link to be more visible... I'll try a few things! It depends: sometimes dealers post new art with a "sold" status. In this case yes they are supposed to show up on CAT. But if it's an old page, sold a long time ago, no it should not reappear in new listings.
  19. Hello everyone! Today is a beautiful day... for rolling out a new version of ComicArtTracker! I've been working on this new iteration throughout the past year, the last major update being in November 2019, and I hope you'll appreciate it. Main enhancements and new features: CAT pages have been reviewed for improved usability on mobile and a sleeker design. More than 50% of ComicArtTracker users are using it from a phone or tablet, so I thought it was time to tune the site with this in mind. This includes a new home page, a new navigation bar on mobile, a new search page and tabs replaced with an "infinite" scrolling. Performance has been improved and loading time reduced throughout the site with numerous code improvements. CAT users may now activate a personal short link. In your Settings / Account section, you can now activate this personal link which let you login without having to re-enter your username and password. You can bookmark this link in your browser or on your smartphone home page for faster access to CAT. Once activated, the personal link will also be used on the daily emails. For dark mode aficionados, CAT now has its own dark theme. You can activate it in your Settings / Preferences section. A new page called "Trending Searches" displays the most searched artists / characters every month. It's a great way to discover new artists! CAT now has its own "Comic Art Collecting Guide", with answers to a lot of questions you may have regarding ComicArtTracker or comic art in general. This section will evolve with time, feel free to PM me your corrections or if you have ideas about interesting resources that could be added. Many thanks to BCarter27 and Frank for their help on this section! A new version may come with its share of compatibility issues. Do not hesitate to contact me if you encounter any bugs. I sincerely hope you enjoy ComicArtTracker and will appreciate this new version! Nicolas https://comicarttracker.com/
  20. I have this Conan Sunday by Ernie Chan that says on the left : "COLOR: BALD GUY NOT BLACK. ALL HAVE DARK HAIR." I also have this page from Attack of the Hideous Space Monsters by Keno Don Rosa. For the first panel he wrote : "Colour: ring of money (coins) around bin". And on the second half-page he wrote: "Paw is wearing blue denim spacesuit, brown work boots." on the left and "Colour: aliens are a weird colour, NOT green" on the right. Note that the ring of money is yellow/gold in French and white in English (see here), whereas the aliens are a medium dark shade of cyan in French and violet in English.
  21. or: you already have it... just create two keywords not: you also have it, it's "-" (as in kirby -rip ) w/10: what is it?
  22. I just checked and on the last 30 days, there was between 600 and 2000 new art listed every day. On 2020, it's an average of 936 new artworks / day (428 without eBay). So yes, email notifications are great if you don't have time to check 936 items a day
  23. I don't really have stats about users' behaviour, but for sure a good part of CAT users go to the site several times a day. Email alerts are great when you're busy and don't want to spend one hour a day to check all new listed art (far less if you don't look at eBay), and you know what you're looking for. It ensures that you won't miss something that you know you may like. There's clearly a traffic peak during the 30 minutes after the daily email is sent to all users, and it does not even take into account all users that read their daily email but do not click to go to the CAT website. But for all of us with the FOMO addiction, or when you're open to any new art that may catch your eye even if you never heard about the artist, you cannot exclusively rely on a list of keywords *. I like this "discovery" phase. You discover an artwork you like, you add the artist to your keywords just to see what other art could appear later. And there's also the upcoming auctions to browse, as well as the results for the recently closed auctions (or your tracked art page) to check what was the final price for the artworks you followed... * 2 people on 5 have setup one or several keywords. For these users, the average number of keywords is 10, but ~ 100 users have more than 50 keywords and a few of them have more than 200 keywords !
  24. Hi everybody. Sorry to have caused you so much pain. The database server went down and I could not make it work again yesterday. A (not so) good night's sleep seems to have been beneficial, as CAT is up and running again (a big thanks to my friend Google). Crossing my fingers. I'm going to make up for the lost time and ensure that all 300 websites are reindexed in a couple of hours, hopefully before the next daily email.
  25. By default, le system searches for any page with the two keywords... but it systematically removes words considered as meaningless (such as "the", "one", "what", etc.). Unfortunately it seems like the word "beyond" falls in this category, so searching for 'batman beyond' is like searching for 'batman' alone. When adding double quotes, you ensure that the search engine will look for this exact two words together. To not be used for artists names, as you're never sure if the original website with display last name + first name, first name + last name, last name alone, etc. but definitely useful for series.
