  1. That's exactly his target, so yes when you know it it makes sense Regarding the Master Race pages, here is what he said on a French board (I won't translate it, it would probably not be accurate, so either you speak French or you'll use an online translation service)
  2. Philippe has a great collection, built in a few years only, but is not focused on Tintin. He's working on this project of a museum in Brussels for a few years, I can't wait to see it. If you want to have a peek to his collection: https://www.2dgalleries.com/browse/user-artworks?timespan=4&order=10&catid=2&uid=583
  3. Have a look on ComicArtTracker? It would have been impossible to search for "cover" on CAT v1, too many results, but CAT v2 is much more performant! Filter on the left to keep only prices under $1000, it gives more than 5000 results... good luck http://comicarttracker.com/en/search?query=cover
  4. For those who have the same kind of problem as Mycroft and Rick2you2: with the help of Rick2you2, I finally discovered that the problem was due to his ad-blocker. He white-listed ComicArtTracker in Ad-blocker plus and now everything seems to be ok. I'll see if I can detect ad-blockers to display a message.
  5. Probably an encoding issue... is it better now?
  6. Do images appear if you apply a filter? Or change the default sort?
  7. Hello everyone! ComicArtTracker has been live now for more than a year. Time flies! I'm very happy (and proud) of how fellow comic art collectors have adopted it and use it almost daily. (And some of you serious art addicts are on there even more!) I hope it has helped a lot of you to find some hidden gems... But the ComicArtTracker you use is also a young project, with a lot of imperfections and missing features. At least that's how I see it. So I've been working hard this past year on a new version of CAT. And as today is my birthday, let's celebrate with this new version! So what's new on ComicArtTracker v2? A lot of things... but the most important are probably: A completely-revamped mobile-friendly layout and a neater design. Improved performance: all pages load faster, even with thousands of listings A Gallery View layout to focus more on the images Shared Lists which you can curate and then share either publicly or with friends. For example: http://comicarttracker.com/en/shared/UGwy5Q Search for Similar buttons on each listing Social media sharing for each listing or page on Facebook, Twitter, or WhatsApp New Sources! Including the whole eBay BIN inventory Changing from CAT v1 to CAT v2 should be transparent: same links, same username and password, and your favorites and settings are preserved. I just finished migrating the website to the new version so if there's something weird try to refresh your browser's cache. I hope you will like this new version and will quickly find your way with the new layout. Of course, CAT will continue to evolve, so feel free to send your comments, ideas, or bugs... I'm eager to know what you think about ComicArtTracker v2. Best, NicoV
  8. You can regularly find Gurcan Gursel's art on Catawiki, for instance this page in color or this cover You also have a few pages on eBay such as this one or this one You can use ComicArtTracker to find more
  9. 1535 as of today ... at least on their website.
  10. I can understand the notion of fresh to market art as long as you sell / buy it privately. As Gene said, it can be a wild card for trading. But if you sell your "fresh-to-market" art on Heritage (or anywhere else), everybody will see it and will know for how much it sells. How could it still be considered as fresh to market by the new owner?!
  11. You're right, it increased from $50 to $75/year on February 1, 2016. But it was already $50 when the premium membership appeared in June 1st, 2005. Which means that the price of CAF premium membership only increased once in 13 years! Unfortunately it's not the same story for comic art prices...
  12. There is a page of Defenders of Dynatron City on eBay at $139 (and obviously it's not sold): https://www.ebay.com/itm/142881680896 Another one sold on ComicLink for $31 this year in June: http://www.comiclink.com/auctions/item.asp?id=1256096 Regarding the Scarlet Witch page, a page from issue #4 is available on the current ComicConnect auction: https://www.comicconnect.com/bookDetail.php?id=753103 You may want to use ComicArtTracker to compare your pages with what is available on dealers / auction houses websites: http://comicarttracker.com
  13. Yep unfortunately one of the two guys running 2DG can sometimes be a real insufficiently_thoughtful_person. When comparing to Bill Cox, on this point CAF definitely wins... But maybe you were talking about the collector commenting about your Patton poster? He's probably the only guy I know who do not hesitate to comment "negatively" (but at least he explains why), I don't think you should take it personally ;-) It depends. Of course if you're French people will mostly comment in French. But most of the 2DG members interested in US comic art try to comment in English when they (we) see that the collector is an English-speaker (typically because the description is in English). For instance: https://www.2dgalleries.com/art/flash-gordon-sunday-7-26-42-by-alex-raymond-76075 or https://www.2dgalleries.com/art/corto-maltese-in-havana-by-john-paul-leon-64854 . And even if comments are in French, Google is your friend... should be enough to understand what people said on your art :-p
  14. In terms of design, layout and mobile-friendliness, 2DG is definitively more modern... which is understandable as the website is only a few years old whereas CAF exists for a far longer time. There is also far less advertising on 2DG so pages are neater and art is probably better highlighted (put forward? don't know the best expression) and you can receive email alerts on specific artists / collectors accounts even with a free account, not on CAF. But on the other hand, as a younger website, 2DG is more limited in terms of number of artworks (especially if you're not interested in european comic art). The premium account is also more expensive (79€ vs $75) and even with a premium account you cannot sell more than 10 items at the same time (I don't think there is a limitation on CAF?). As a collector, my opinion is that you should follow both websites (no need for a premium account just to have a peek and on 2DG): you'll have a few big collectors who don't have an account on CAF, such as https://www.2dgalleries.com/galleries/les-americains-et-anglo-saxons-5355?timespan=4&order=10&catid=2). Note that there is far less art posted everyday on 2DG, it's easier to follow than CAF (especially if you deactivate display for commissions ^^). If you have time, it's quite easy to add your new artwork on both websites (once it's scanned and you wrote your description, it's just a matter of a few minutes to copy and paste). If you're a seller and want / need to be seen by European collectors, you may want to consider being on 2DG, but my opinion is that the premium account is too expensive. As for comments, don't expect too many of them on 2DG, for two reasons: a lot of 2DG members don't care at all about US comic art (some of them even deactivate their display - something I really can't understand: if you're a collector you should be eager to discover artists you never heard of, isn't it?) I feel comments are more and more about friends / trading (I know and appreciate you, I write a comment, you'll give one back) Of course that's only my opinion!
  15. The sign at the top says "Bernie Wrightson Tribute Project"
  16. Did you check on ComicArtTracker? There's 20 strips on eBay, Anthony Snyder and Galerie 9ème Art.
  17. first link ... http://www.dw.com/en/asterix-comic-book-illustration-nabs-record-price-at-auction/a-40950072
  18. The 2 pages whose images have been removed from the auction house website are not the ones from the links you give (which are not covers but illustrations). The first one (1M€+) is the one you can see on the first link provided by Bronty. The second one (950k€) is also a cover. Here is the PDF version of the catalog.
  19. Some artworks already reached a million... and more http://comicarttracker.com/en/auctions/top-prices
  20. It's called European comic art auction because this auction is based in Europe (Netherlands) and the two "experts" are a French and a Belgian gallerists who previously worked with Sotheby's on a couple of auctions these last years (one of them also being a huge comic art collector). Regarding USD, I guess Heritage website is not designed to handle auctions in another currency. But as you can always see bids in any currency that's not really an issue. Regarding buyer fees, it's more than usually (25% instead of 19.5%) but it does not change anything for us European collectors because we used to pay the 19.5% buyer fees + 5.5% custom fees = 25%. The only difference is that we won't have to pay for shipping. That's my understanding, I may be wrong ;-)
  21. This 60-yo page from Astro Boy by famous artist Osamu Tezuka was estimated 40-60k€ and sold 2 days ago for more than 210k€ + fees https://www.artcurial.com/en/lot-osamu-tezuka-1928-1989-astro-boy-tome-4-encre-de-chine-et-aquarelle-pour-la-page-25-de-cet
  22. Urania auctions always have (too) high starting prices and their lots often don't hit the reserve. For instance, in the previous Urania auction (nov 2017) only 31% of their lots have been sold. You can also try to buy it aftersale but I don't think they will accept it below this starting price.
