For the most part, with a few exceptions, Bronze and Silver still going down...
Everything continues to go down, and here I refer to longstanding items, not "mickey mouse moderns" that have appeared in the last few years. I believe the market will rebound, but not until the economy in general corrects itself. I'm happy for my items to sit on Ebay until someone makes a serious offer (and yes, that may take a while). When people start having disposable income again, there's a chance.

I just had a quick look - it was. What a shame. I always like his sensible observations. RIP my friend.

It's with my deepest sadness that I have to share that "bird" -- Sean Wasielewski -- passed away suddenly on Wednesday. He was a man with many opinions, and he and I had some great discussions about comics and life over the years both here and -- even better -- face-to-face.
I spoke with his wife earlier today and she let me know that a service will take place soon, although they don't have the details yet. I suspect it will be near the shore in Jersey where he lived, and I'll post that information here when I get it. Along with his wife, he had two lovely daughters.
Edited to include obituary: https://www.shorepointfh.com/obituary/Sean-Wasielewski
I've just seen this. Was this the gent with the avatar of the cartoon of the gent with the 70s looking hair and beard?

Enjoy. I know I had a laugh when Tom Bosley discussed comics and the price of a Detective Comics #27.

Agreed. Prices on all collectibles are heading back to the trajectory that they were on pre-Covid. This was the early 90s all over again. Next spike like this will be 2050ish.
That's fine. I'm locking everything up and returning to hyper sleep in the next five years. I'll give your regards to your grandchildren.

Even if it was legit , this list has never included second, third , etc prints.

Then perhaps it should?
This is obviously an exception to the rule. Certainly more interesting than Miles Morales.

What about this? It went under the radar and may be an artificial sale to boost the price.

I’m wondering too how long it’s going to last
Well, I can only speak from my own personal experience as a seller, but from what I have observed there has been a dramatic slowdown on the purchase of high-end slabs. Even a 9.8 will sit there on display for months, despite umpteen watchers. I believe that things will rebound, but not until late 2024 at the earliest. On an aside, I think the fact that the MCU now needs reinventing has also made people skittish and wary of big comic-related purchases, as there's no guarantee of a return. So, the ships are moored in the harbour...while we sit in the tavern and wait.

What are breakers?
sorry I just saw an ad for whatnot, I see it’s a thing now, and you are educating me.
It feels like another gimmick but that might not be fair for me to say
Hey, you are entitled to have an opinion. I think we're all just trying to get a handle on this strange post-COVID market.

People can sell privately, but from statistical perspectives, they don’t add anything, if it can’t be tracked, or there isn’t a consistent history.
Do you believe this is now the norm or the exception?

I won’t say out of respect for the parties involved, but I will say that the claim that 19k is “still more than anything this book has ever sold for in any grade” is absolutely false. We breached that amount YEARS ago.
Thanks for the clarification. I can certainly relate as I have conducted private sales that do not reflect the listed price of some issues.

As a former owner of a 9.8 copy, I have knowledge of multiple private sales and you are severely undervaluing this book. Your statement is flat out wrong.
Respectfully, can you advise as to the sales price?
I'm simply curious (not argumentative).

I'm going to agree with devald here. When a 9.8 finally does go for auction, those that can afford it will be prepared to pay. It only takes 2 cashed up buyers to get into a bidding war and that 40K threshold will be broken.
I don't believe UH#4 has the staying power, but there are some other ultra-rare gems out there that could do it if circumstances are right (it might take at least 2 sales but possible)

Wow. I knew if I waited long enough one of these would reappear. I'm guessing the seller needs the cash. It's a bad time to sell but I wish them well. Yet to see the magical 9.8...

Patience in this case is a product of projected life span. Many here who wait with fingers crossed for next bubble will still have those fingers crossed in their coffins.
The larger the bubble the larger the burst. Effects from the just ended bubble will be in force for at least the next decade.
1. I am young.
2. I picked the right items.
3. I can afford to wait (see also Point 1).

Not really, but since you edited your post and changed the dynamic of the initial thought, the inquiry is appropriate - just sayin'...
I wanted to see if anyone wanted to argue the point about quantity. While I like those Lee splashes (such as the famous Captain Ametica shot), I stand by my assertion about Lee art in general.
Are prices still climbing or have they eased up a bit???

In a lower grade, certainly. You might want to get in before Deadpool 3 and the live-action reboot by Marvel.
