  9. Surfing Alien's Gasp! 2024 Golden Age paperbacks sale. I find it hard to believe that 2024 is here, it's one of those years that science fiction authors wrote fantastical stories about when I was a teenager. Well the truth of today's world is stranger than fiction in many ways but I'm still here reading and collecting and as long as I'm doing that, I'll also be selling because my shelves and closet are busting at the seams. There'll be tons of Science Fiction, Horror, GGA and Mystery and maybe some things in between. Some cheap stuff and some big books. Hopefully, a little something for everybody I've been buying selling and trading Vintage pb's since the Hancer Price Guide came out back in the 80's. Been on Ebay since 1998 with 100% positive feedback. I tend to grade paperbacks in the manner of current pulp grading: Poor/Fair/Good/Very Good/Fine/Very Fine I'm a high grade collector so my books are almost all Very Good and better if they're available in those grades. Many pre-1960 books just aren't available in high grade often so I try to find solid Good-Very Good ones if I can. The rules for this thread are: -No HoS or Probation list buyers -I will ship to Canada but will have to quote shipping options. -Payment via Venmo or Paypal preferred. I also can do Zelle although it is a bit more of a pain to do. -Shipping via USPS Media Mail for $5 or Priority Small Box for $11 for the continental United States. More than one book I will ship at the least extra cost practicable. Shipping for Canada will be quoted. -First in the thread wins and prevails over pm offers -Returns accepted for 14 days after delivery but please let me know asap if you are unhappy for any reason and I will make it right. I do miss things occasionally. Feel free to pm with offer or questions. I'm always open to reasonable package offers.
  10. OtherEric and I have commented that Saunders' Conan looks a bit like Arnold
  11. On a lighter note Considered a classic rarity from the old days of vintage pb collecting. That dude is done sculpting for sure
  12. Some of the minty PKD books from the "High Grade" collection I bought a lot of, out of Connecticut in 2022. Quite a few of the duplicates here landed in the collections of boardies through various sales in 2023. This collector had the good taste to hoard multiple high grade copies of almost every early PKD and John D. MacDonald paperback.
  13. George Ziel cover art has that effect. He was such an expressive artist and his wimmen were incredible even when somewhat impressionistic
  14. Thanks fellas, it's Lowell, but no sweat, I've been having my name mangled since Kindergarten Part of the price of having a last name for a first name But over the years I've gone from hating my name as a little kid because it was different to appreciating it as I grow older because it is different I do try to give some juicy description to the stuff I list here because I know the information on pb's is pretty sparse. It's out in the world but spread very thinly so I give some digestible chunks that, hopefully, make them even more compelling than the awesome covers Here's a couple of Friday Fun pieces Lust For Love by Florence Stonebraker. Intimate Novels No. 16 This Digest cover art of a red-headed lush by Owen Kampen (probably his wife ) was re-purposed later on a Beacon Book, B141 The Love Peddler, like most Universal Publishing covers Some more UK goodness. Although I rate the Heade covers for the early Hank Janson books the highest, these 1964 series titles by Compact Books are pretty cool also, as well as the later Gold Star Books (some with Maguire and Harry Barton covers which I've shown/sold on the boards)
