  1. there is a lot of really nice art available, including a significant number of pieces I haven't seen offered before. I do see some CRAZY prices, but hey, if its yours, you can ask for whatever you want. (What is kind of annoying is seeing some retread pieces that have been listed in every single CAF Live, posted again with even higher prices) **Disclosure: For the first time I posted some art for sale on CAF Live. Sold one page within the first hour, and had inquiries about some others. So already I consider the event a success.** I saw one or two moderately-priced pieces I really like, but I'm not sure I'm ready to pull the trigger. Let's see what pops up tomorrow. Mike
  2. surprised this beauty is back on the market so quickly.
  3. one of the great Bronze Age WW splash pages. Congrats on picking this one up!
  4. 1. Write down a list of books you're looking for. Any convention can be overwhelming due to all the choices, but for your first, I'd recommend making a list and trying to stick to it. Will keep you from overspending. 2. Give the convention floor a walkthrough before you make your first purchase. The first dealer you encounter may have higher prices than someone in another part of the floor. Shop around and compare prices. 3. Know your budget and stick to it! 4. Go dumpster diving in the bargain bins! you may find something cool for peanuts. 5. Always easier to negotiate with cash than credit cards/PayPal, etc. so hit the bank before you go. 6. If it's a multi-day Con, go on the last day. Lots of dealers are more willing to wheel & deal then -- who wants to pack up everything for the ride home? 7. Enjoy it! Cons are the best....
  5. you guys are posting some great pages! I've shown most of my art but don't think I've posted this Aquaman/Mera splash from Action Comics #518 ... so hard to find a nice Bronze Age Aqua splash. and while it doesn't have him swimming with dolphins, I love that it's from a story titled after one of my favorite disaster movies.
  6. what a great page! Congrats on finding it -- these pages don't turn up often!
  7. strong result for this, but it's an excellent page from a key story. Congrats to the seller!
  8. It was Jim Shooter who allegedly caught Kane red-handed, no?
  9. The Nova page with Stan Lee, Marv & Sal finished at a strong price! Gotta believe the seller is happy with the result. Great page...
  10. Bumping this up with an **UPDATE** -- Lowered the prices on a few pieces AND added a cool Aquaman page by Don Newton. link to the Newton Aqua page... https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1899358 Thanks, Mike

  12. I've always been more of a Marvel fan, but this cover is an all-time favorite! Been trying to find a high-grade copy for a while now!
  13. Hi all, Listing a few pages from my collection for sale. Starting off with this cool panel page from Marvel Team-Up #109 by Herb Trimpe & Mike Esposito featuring a great full-figure Dazzler image. Page is standard size, 11x17, with trimmed corners. Questions always welcome. Thanks for looking! https://cafurl.com?i=28654
  14. wow, $5,520 for a CGC 8.0 Star Wars #1 35 cent variant - congrats to the buyer, and I guess condolences to the seller unless they've been holding it a long time. I personally think that's a great price for a nice copy of this book....
  15. I had an issue with a recent purchase from Heritage where poor shipping led to a nice raw copy of Hawkman #4 getting wrecked. However, all of my OA purchases have always shown up incredibly well-protected.
  16. Wow, a 9.4 and a 9.0?!! Amazing find, congratulations!!
  17. Finally able to join the club -- It's a 1.0 beater copy, but that's how I roll with these SA Marvel keys. Thrilled to add this to the collection! (sorry about the crappy pic -- met my buddy to pick it up at lunch, and was too excited to show it off!)
  18. Wanted that Freedom Fighters cover with WW but had to bow out. Thought it still sold for a good price. happy with my winnings - the Cockrum Marvel Super Special Star Trek TMP page with Kirk, Bones and McCoy.
  19. Hi folks, I'd like to find a nice example or two from the one-shot comic adapting this classic piece of Marvel animation history. Don't see many pages out there - aside from the couple on CAF, which are not for sale (I've asked already). If anyone has leads on where some pages are located or if you have one for sale, please LMK. Mik
  20. That's a fairly significant oversight on CLink's part. I would've cancelled as well.
  21. Great piece, Dino! I remember this poster. Incredible how many heroes Wilson fit into this image. Also, I noticed ROM was erased from the printed poster. Was that around the time Marvel lost the rights to the character?
  22. I know some of the higher end pieces at the beginning of the auction may have "underperformed," but it sure looked like prices for mid-range art were really strong. i was quite happy with the results my 2 consigned pieces brought in. Also was good to see that demand for DC Style Guide pieces by Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez remains quite high. a few of his pieces went for comparative bargains during weekly auctions. but the Batgirl and supergirl examples in this auction did very well.
