  1. I'm with ya...I'm probably going to go for the set of 4 1/4 figures NECA is putting out. They look great!

I bit the bullet, couldn't resist! I just wish the diorama set was also for sale but I believe it was a one off for the con.

Speaking of a Gold Turtlemania, how many schmeckles should I be saving for? (if the chance to own one ever arrives) I haven't see any others pop up for sale of late.

  2. I think I actually prefer having the signature(s) on the slab...kind of the best of both worlds. You're getting their signature but you're not altering the book itself in any permanent way. I wish they did Sig. Series labels with a sealed panel on the front of the slab for signatures (instead of signing the actual book).

I think I agree with this as well, keeping the book in original condition yet still getting a signature at the same time without running the gauntlet of regrading. It certainly would be nice to have like a signature sleeve of sorts as an attachment to the case that would still give the tick of approval from CGC.

  3. Here's a topic that has probably been discussed before but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.

For those that have the NM+ ratings without SS, have you at all considered breaking the slab to get Kevin and/or Peter's signature? With Kev doing the con circuit, he's a little easier to get to than the rare occasion Peter does signings. I've toyed with the idea of breaking my 9.8 before to go to a SS, but of course you run the risk of the grade being lowered and potentially losing value on the book.

(side note: Peter *may* be attending Shellback Studios for FCBD signings - no word on SS rep so far from the TMNT thread)

What's people's thoughts? Are people seriously considering this or are you happy to keep the book at it's current label/grade? I'm in Oz, so access is pretty much a deal breaker for me anyway.

  4. Here's something that might put a smile on everybody's dial:

Thought I'd spread some warm and fuzzys for the end of 2015.

The scanner needs a clean but this is probably the best image I have of the book at the moment.

    Enjoy :)

What is exceptionally cool about this picture is knowing that my copy is in that picture, somewhere.

Haha, I thought the exact same thing! Always brings a smile to my face thinking that I own a small piece of history sitting right there.

  6. Congrats on the purchase!

I too was eyeing off that page 7 a week or so back when Kevin announced the OA was for sale. The wife would have killed me if I pulled the trigger. Glad it went to a fellow collector on the board however! :D

Company bonus was going to get paid this week too, lol! Nevermind. I can spend more time saving for some holy grails :D

  7. For those collectors who love to overload their shelves with figures, Mondo has recently announced a 6.5" figure honouring the very first turtles drawing by Kevin Eastman.

"We're proud to honor the history of the Turtles with a figure based on the very first illustration of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, as drawn by Kevin Eastman. Featuring 5 points of articulation, and illustration-accurate details, The First Turtle is perfect for TMNT and comic history fans alike!"

Looks like they are taking pre-orders and shipping at the end of the year.

    Urgh, Q4? I don't like waiting!
