I find it a bit annoying, personally.  Sales sites are not intended to be a showcase of your possessions.  I could go through all my stuff and list it at 3x the value on eBay or whatever so it just sits there forever, with automatic relist every 30 days.  But what's the point?  It just clogs things up and makes it harder to search for things.  And sometimes I get alerts on things only to see that it has some ridiculous BIN.  Of course I just move on, but I've never done that myself and I don't respect it.  Either do an auction starting at a dollar and let the market price it, or do a hopeful but vaguely reasonable BIN.   I find posting your Spawn #1s at $1000 "rude" as well.

I tried selling my Tick extras on Ebay way back in the day, I wasn't very good at it.  There are those who have commented on how little I will make for my 'investment' into The Tick.  For those of you who know me, well, The Tick just happens to be my thing and my wish is to be able to collect them all, but that may be unrealistic on my part, especially with the limited budget that I have.  I guess the fun I get is the challenge, because it makes the actual procuring so much more fulfilling. That being said, I think I might try my hand at selling a bunch of stuff on ebay, if only to be able to get back into my man-cave!  My user name there is https://www.ebay.com/usr/rocknrollartist6460.  I don't have anything up there yet, but I'll tell ya what, I'll start the bidding at 99 cents plus shipping and handling (which I really don't want to have to pay someone to take my stuff).  I have these Star Wars lightsabers, a couple that work, and one that doesn't, maybe I'll start there.  Oh, check this out...talking about stuff that I've never seen before...recently I bought these on Ebay...

Lol I thought somehow I thought somehow i threw mine away. I even I called about it, left a message lol

Never heard from anyone and low and behold they showed up the other day. I could have thought none was around o something. It was a bewilderment for sure to seem them show.

    Congrats on yours  :)

    It was good timing

I know!  I printed out the digital copy they sent me earlier last year, but it's not the same as getting the printed out one straight from CGC itself!  I also wish I paid that little extra to expedite my last order...74 more days and counting...geez!

I'm more of a completist myself and I'm sure I will be selling my doubles on ebay in the future.  Heck, I'm still trying make some semblence of order putting my collection together!  In the meantime I feel like I'm missing out one some of the really cool stuff other Tick collectors have been scoring on.  I did get this but I'm trying to figure how to display it correctly.

Just noticed on ebay that a 9.8 SE 1 is going for 2500 with nearly 60 people watching

Is this for real? I didn't realize Tick was starting to climb. Thought the last we would see of Tick was the Amazon series hype, which ended up flopping

Hard to tell the future of The Tick. I remember when Star Wars was tumbling off the page like all good things, like Indiana Jones and Star Trek, and then Disney surprised the world when they purchased the rights to Star Wars from George Lucas, and we all know what happened after that.  They did the same thing with Pixar, which I enjoyed when they were the little guy at the Animation Art Festivals.

In regards to The Tick and The Fox Kids - Saban Entertainment...

The Fox Kids/Saban Entertainment library today is mostly owned by The Walt Disney Company, with a few exceptions:  All of the Power Rangers franchise and PR-related shows are now owned by Hasbro through Allspark/eOne, which acquired the assets of Saban Brands in 2018, while Digimon has reverted to Toei Animation.  In May 2008, Bennett Schneir was hired to lead its film division while Hasbro also reacquired animated series based on their properties from Sunbow Productions.  After two attempts to purchase or merge with a filmed entertainment company, Dreamworks Animation and Lionsgate, fell apart due to pricing differences.  Hasbro Studios moved to create a full-fledged movie studio.  Thus in October 2017, the company hired Greg Mooradian, currently working at Fox 2000, as president of Allspark Pictures starting January 2018.  In November 2017, a five-year exclusive distribution and production pact was signed between Hasbro and Paramount Pictures for Allspark Pictures and Allspark Animation films.  Plus Meghan McCarthy was promoted to head up for Allspark Animation.

What happens in 2022, is left to be determined...which may be Disney, if Hasbro's Allspark fails to turn a profit.

For anyone new to collecting Tick comics check out TickComics.com.  It's just a list of all the Tick comics that have been printed.  It is NOT a retail site nor does it even give values to the comics - it' just a complete list with notes.  (I try to work closely with New England Comics to keep it as accurate as possible)

I use your site all the time!  Thanks for all the hard work you put into your site.  The Tick - Compendium of Comics (tickcomics.com)

I have many slabs worth more. I've been offered double what I've paid for it. I'm extremely happy I've never traded or sold this, and considering the last person to approach me about it was very convincing, I've decided I'll never part with it

Most of the rest of my graded Ticks. Still have to put away a few, will have to zoom in to read, but they're mostly there. I'm missing a few reprints, the ashcan and of course the newsletters. Those skyrocketed in price before I even knew about them and went beyond reach.

Dang dude!  If you listed these up on the CGC Registry, I bet you probably would come close to beating me!

Not likely since it was a license issue and will never be renewed

I'm kinda hoping something's gotta give next year, or at least between 2022 to 2023 to see if something comes from Hasbro's Allspark/Entertainment One or Disney.  I would love to walk down the aisle of my favorite grocery store to pick up a The Tick Bar Soap!

  9. Did everyone pick up their copy of The Tick Free Comic Book Day 2021?  The Tick is back for his 12th FREE COMIC BOOK DAY featuring an ALL-NEW story and cover! This year's exciting tale is inspired from Ben Edlund's classic "Microbe Adventure!" trading card as The Tick encounters a world where microscopic creatures engage in a never-ending survival of the fittest!
Should The Tick and his friends meddle in this eerie reality?! Don't miss out on an exciting new chapter of one of the longest running indy comic books. SPOOOOOON!
