  1. JLA #1 .5 Trade update

    I traded my jla 1 .5 for x-men 266 cgc 9.6

Is a JLA 1 worth so little?

Plus not sure that i'd trade for a book that is market saturated. In order to sell it you'll have to price it low.

Yes because I've been getting offers of only 100-150 dollars for it.

So let me get this straight. You traded a 450-500 book for a 150-200 book??

    Don't try to use logic.

  2. One of my favorite books all time.

:o There is either something very wrong with you, or very right with you, I am just not sure which. Nice books!

Probably a little of both. I had planned on grabbing a couple of super high grades this year but the pricing got a little out of hand so I held at the 9.4.

  3. It is more of a case of that "5.5" actually needing to be labelled properly as a 4.0/4.5 with that big of a piece missing. The price was fine if you look at it that way. I disagree with the way CGC is so lenient with pieces missing. I have a Strange Adventures #205 up on eBay that I was grading as VG with no takers as a raw book at local shows due to the missing pieces/chips. It came back as a 6.0 in a nice slab. lol

Add in the apparent edge tear in the middle of the right side, what appears to be a color breaking crease in the bottom right corner, and a longer crease or tear (or scuff?) at the bottom staple and I am surprised this came back so high.

FWIW, Clink limits the prices on all books by not providing a back cover scan. It looks like there is a bit of a bend/crease in the tip of the top left corner of the back cover on this B&B #28 (slabbing issue?). If I am spending a few grand on a book I would like to be able to see both covers. That is not too much to ask, is it?

I swung at it and helped run it up but wouldn't go above 4500 on it due to the presentation.

  4. This thread needs an update. I just received my copy in the mail today :cloud9: My best copy I've ever owned so far. One of the things I am picky about this book is how deep and dark the reds are since a lot of the copies I've seen are faded. I'm glad to have this copy to have the kind of red colors I've been looking for. Glad to be back in the club!

Great looking book, a keeper for sure!
