  1. The Contest entry is Weird Mysteries #12. This Bernard Baily cover should get those creative juices flowing! Please quick quote this pic along with your entry. This will run through Sunday and winner will be announced on Monday. Let the first pre code poetry contest bragging rights begin!
  2. Thanks, tundra and bb gun! Great stuff! Contributions can be from any genre of comics and any style. Just love seeing all the brilliant work getting posted! I will be starting a fun little contest today that will go through Sunday. I will post a favorite book of mine and anyone who wants to participate can use their own interpretation. Votes will be sent to my pm to avoid public display and the winner will receive a free book on me. The free book will be this low grade Wonder Comics #18.
  3. Terrific!!! I recently picked one up myself. Cover is taped but presents well and is fully readable! Mine is readable but I haven't yet. Figured I would pick this one up because who knows when an upgrade will come along.
  4. Not a broken neck but a recent low grader of a tough book to find.
  5. You, Sagii are a sick person and I love it! Poem goes perfect with one of the best Manhunt covers!
  6. Thanks so much to everyone who has contributed so far! You have far exceeded my expectations and have shared some wonderful work. Keep it up! Make mine zombie! A strange thought occurred to me A zombie's life I dream to be Pestilence, disease, pain, and strife Does not impede a zombie's life Life, death, heaven, or hell Issues which a zombie won't dwell Rent, bills, mouths to feed Problems zombie never need Work, savings, 401k Trivialities zombie won't have to pay The newest gadgets or latest fashion to wear Zombie's appearance is of no care Neighbors, greed, fear of ire Only the pleasures of flesh stoke his fire Race, religion, color of skin Zombie shuffles free from sin A strange thought occurred to me A zombie's life I dream to be
  7. I love that one! One of my all time favorite covers adds to the dark undertones of your love gone astray tale. Very, very nice!
  8. Fantastic and timed appropriately! These boards have Shakespearean talent. Keep them coming!
  9. Thanks! I hope this thread gets lots of contributors. I have that Misfits CD and it's a classic! Will have to check out the other band now.
  10. Hello all. I have recently became inspired the last couple of months and have been dabbling in some poetry to reflect how certain covers speak to me. Most all have been pre code horror covers and all have been from the cover only and not the interior stories themselves. I would like to share one and maybe boardies can share how certain covers or comics inspire them in the form of poetry. Of course this isn't for everyone and I definitely don't consider myself a poet but it might be fun, who knows. I discourage "man from Nantucket" poems or the like! First off is the classic Astonishing #30 with a unforgettable Joe Maneely cover. Time slips, the mind rips, the body drips Tick..tick..drip..drip The eyes melt all you have felt, the hand is dealt Tick..tick..drip..drip Flesh sheds from the bones, gnashing teeth, earth and stone Tick..tick..drip..drip Always meant to be this way, everyone has their day Tick..tick..drip..drip No words of wisdom to befuddle, we all end up in a puddle Tick..tick..drip..drip
  11. Seeing double (blurry) vision! Also a cool Jumbo
  12. Wow, brother! You are on a roll! Better take a better photo or I'll have to drag my boxes out again... Guess I need to stop buying comics and invest in a nice digital camera...nah!
  13. I can only get to the PO twice a week if I'm lucky so it looks better once I do get some books! Once you get the bug and you just have to get more!
  14. Another fruitful mailbox trip today! If only my camera didn't suck.
  15. Oh yeah it is! I think #2 has one of the most twisted crime stories in it where a guy kills everyone in the house including a baby and the dog! Very graphicly shown. If some one has a copy handy post that splash page! You can kill my wife but not the dog! Crazy stuff. Exposed #1 is pretty tame throughout and typical crime stories besides some wife choking frames.
  16. Some of today's recent additions That will teach that nag! Finger licking good! [/url Shove it #19, 23 is where it's at!
  17. Sorry, I just HAD to do it... Now mine took a lot longer than one trip to the mail box to assemble but just some great books. A lot of good reading there. Hope you are enjoying your copies! Beautiful! I know I have another stack of goodies waiting for me at the mailbox tomorrow! Stay tuned!
  18. Seems pretty sucky, doesn't it? That's why I'd like more info if anyone can share... Stupid question perhaps but I have a Baffling Bethlehem pedigree cgc book but I don't see a stamp. Are they sometimes on the inside?
  19. That's terrific, love the Stan's Newsstand stamp! What's with the reissued text box? Never seen that before. Did they actually do an additional printing for this issue? I'm not sure as I have never seen one. Perhaps a replenishment notice on the last book in the stack? Adds some character at any rate. I agree. It appears to be a sticker, is it? I'd be curious to see what the indicia says on the inside. Can any Chesler experts chime in? It's a sticker and not printed on the book. Guess that news stand had display copies perhaps??
