  6. bump. re-opening this and will be listing more Bronze stuff, complete series (Planet of the Apes, Inhumans, Secret Wars, etc), and will be posting more silver age Thor soon. I've updated the deals in the recap.
  7. Is there any reason to believe, prior to this, that Joe Bennett is an anti-semite? One dumb enough to put his anti-Semitism blatantly on show in a Marvel comic book? Has he ever said or done anything in the past that might lead one to believe he is an anti-semite or otherwise racist? I don't know anything about him, so am asking honestly. I'm not willing to jump straight to accusation and condemnation over what could have simply been a dumb, misunderstood mistake.
  8. That water damage seems way too extensive to hope for something near 4.0. A press would help the book look much more presentable, sure. It'd be a great copy to have as a reader, but I get you gotta slab it to get the most out of your money/time if you are planning to sell. I say it is a 2.0/2.5 at best due to the massive amount of water damage. But it's complete and looks really good despite that, nice book!
  9. I bought this book from Rick (G.A.tor), and he said that Stan Lee stopped by his booth at a show and asked if he had anything he'd like for him to sign. This copy of X-Men #1 was brought out and Stan signed it. It wasn't witnessed as it was an unexpected opportunity, so no gold label. I love it. It has fairly good placement (poor Ice Man lol), is legible and doesn't distract from the presentation at all. I don't think I could have asked for a nicer presenting 2.5 and the sig is just icing on the cake.
  10. oohI found it. I had no idea this was a thing. Is it a reliable site?

  12. In case there is anyone who might check in on the journal, I got the big one! I've pecked at the X-Men run here and there, but as usual I can't stay focused on one run for long and have filled in holes in my Thor, Hulk, Amazing Spider-Man, Tales to Astonish runs. Last Fall I decided I should try to get an X-Men #1 before the price for even low grade copies made it impossible. I sold nearly my entire Parrillo collection as well as almost all of my copper/modern Amazing Spider-Man run (including a ASM 238 in cgc 9.4, a really nice raw 361, the rest of the McFarlane run including a super nice 316), and I scraped together the funds for THIS oh yeah baby! I've already posted it elsewhere on the boards, but thought I should update the journal, too. Maybe if I remember to do so more often it will help me stay focused on completing this run. Now that I have a #1 out of the way, the goal seems significantly more achievable.
