  1. I haven't done damage to one of my comics myself. Here's as close as I come...

    The Summer of '75.

I lent my best friend my brand new copy of Richie Rich Gold & Silver #1.

The next day I accidently broke his Green Ghost game. He got back at me by ripping the Richie Rich into tiny pieces and depositing them in my mailbox.

A few weeks ago, a 9.8 copy sold on eBay for over $500.

    Should I bill him?

Yes, minus the value of the Green Ghost game today.

  2. So if I sell something and am paid by Paypal, once I transfer the funds from my Paypal account to my bank account, am I insulated against any bogus clawbacks by a buyer? Can Paypal reach into the bank account that is "connected" to my Paypal account and withdraw funds from that account without my permission?

Depends when you joined paypal. Check the user agreement.

  3. ALWAYS use a credit card when dealing with Paypal. PP offers little to NO protection by itself. I find it annoying that I have to answer "Are you sure you want to use a credit card?" every time I make a purchase but I'm thinking "Hell yea, they offer protection!"

  4. Same here. I create a "cushion".

Bubble plastic and newspaper both give off quite large (relatively) amounts of acid and toxins that can harm your comic books. I wouldn't advise using either as a long term storage solution.

    Thanks for the advice.

But those "products" aren't in direct contact with the bagged/boaded comics. Usually there's around 3 or 4 backboards to prevent any bent/crease on the spine of the last comic in contact with the boards/newspapers/bubbles plastic.
