  1. Here are some more books that are making it to Preview Night! These books aren't mine, but belong to other members of the community who sent me these pics to share on the boards. See earlier post for more books that are showing up. Feel free to post any books you're bringing in this thread, too! If you haven't RSVP'd yet, drop a comment or shoot me a DM. See first post in thread for event details.
  2. They are two completely different events. The actual con is on Sunday, and has 40+ dealers with an insane amount of comics in the rooms. Preview Night is a purely community-run meetup where collectors bring books they want to sell & trade in a very casual atmosphere. There are no formal booths or dealer setups. I think it'd be worth it to attend both, if you can make it work 😁

  4. Here we go! I reached out to a few folks who are attending Preview Night and asked them to share some pics of books they are bringing to sell/trade. This is just a very small sampling - I've chatted with others and it looks like there will be a lot of really nice books in the room. I'll post more in the coming days. Can't wait! If you'd like to share pics of books you're bringing to Preview Night, please share here in this thread! Thanks to everyone who has RSVP'd already. If you haven't yet, just drop a comment or shoot me a DM to let me know you're coming. We've currently got 40+ RSVPs. Craft beer, taco truck, comic books...gonna be fun!
  5. Attention all San Francisco Bay Area comic collectors: the next Comic Swap is on! Saturday, February 2nd 12:00-3:00pm TL Cafe and Laundry, 517 O’Farrell St. Free! There will be food, coffee, and cold drinks (yes, there's beer) available for purchase. We’ll keep it going longer if people want to stay past 3 pm, but come early for the best selection. There will be Golden Age to modern variants, from slabbed keys to $1 bargain bins. This is open to anyone, so bring some comics to trade or sell! There's no limit to what you can bring, but it's just cafe table space, so most people bring 1-3 shortboxes, others simply bring a backpack full of books. Metered street parking or $10 all day parking garage across the street. Located about 10 minutes walk from Powell St. BART station. See pics from previous events - this will be the 4th one we've hosted and the last one had about 30 people show up! Drop a comment if you can make it!
  6. Any Golden Age collectors coming on Sat? Here's a sampling of some GA we're bringing to the show. Had to dig deep into the personal stash to pull some of these out! Many we're making available for the first time this Saturday. Can't wait!
  7. Thanks to everyone that has RSVP'd for Preview Night! So far we've got 40+ RSVPs between the boards and Instagram, so it looks like we'll have a good turnout with some really nice books showing up We also have a food truck confirmed to be there, so there will be food available to go with your beers. There will be limited table space available, which will be first come, first served. Each table space will be either half a 6' table or a single highboy table. Please limit yourselves to max one shortbox each, please. See the first post for more details like time, location, etc.
  8. I keep my short boxes closed until doors open. After that, I don't care if dealers buy from my booth or a con attendee. But I like keeping my full inventory that I painstakingly curated for the show to be available to con attendees. As a collector, I've been to many shows (often the first one through the doors) only to find that all the "good books" and deals have already been snatched up by dealers during setup. So this is simply my way of giving the attendees a fair shot at what I think is a nice selection of very fairly priced books.
  9. My experience is similar. However, the Torpedo shop in Las Vegas is gorgeous, and their convention booth is also a thing of beauty. Unfortunately that also means charging double with a straight face.
  10. Here's my wish list I shared on Instagram. Don't expect to take down all of them, but will be happy if I can even get one

  12. Just over 3 weeks to go for Preview Night and Cal Comic Con! Thanks to everyone who PM'd me their RSVP. Looks like we'll have a good turnout - over 30 RSVPs so far from the boards and Instagram. Some nice books will be showing up! If you plan to attend, just drop a comment or shoot me a PM so I can attempt to keep an accurate headcount for the brewery. I'm working on getting a food truck to show up, too
  13. Yeah, makes sense. And my bad, corrected the typo!
  14. Albedo 2 CGC 9.0 just sold on eBay for $3,650. Blue label but note says, "Name & sketch written on page 1 in pen." Doesn't this usually get a Qualified green label? Seems like it really held the book down, since a couple weeks ago a 9.0 sold for $4,850. Or was that sale too high?
