ANY kind of plastic, including mylar, polypropylene are not good for paper, can cause humidity (well that depends of the humidity room) and can cause abrasion to the paper and other problems

Mylar does not 'cause humidity'.  Unless it's perfectly sealed, the humidity level of your comic book will go up and down depending on it's surrounding environment.  You can get mould/foxing on comics just having them on open shelves in damp basements.

Also. Abrasion is defined as "the process of scraping or wearing away". I just don't see how that is possible with the ultra smooth Mylar surface - however definitely can happen if in contact with other paper.

I'm returning several comics.   Not just from iceman399.  I'm eating a 20% restocking fee on a $750 comic so I can free up cash.  What is this highschool?  Crappy things happen.

Seriously?  Crappy things happen to people all the time, but they still honor their commitments.  My car broke down a while ago and it cost me over $2000 to repair.  I still paid all my other bills.  What's happening here is that you are living paycheck to paycheck, and you simply cannot afford to be buying expensive comics!  It is YOU who are living your life like you're still in high school, and you deserve to be banned and blocked because your irresponsible behaviour is making life difficult for everyone else.

    Possibly worthy of blocking: Ives-mar

Bid and won two books (took out three other bidders in the process)

2 days later asks how cheap I can ship using regular mail with no tracking (despite my clearly stated shipping requirements).  I replied that I dont ship regular mail and insist on tracking due to issues in the past.  I did reduce shipping a few dollars to try to be helpful (below my actual cost).  The guy then asks to cancel his order.  Cheap books so no massive loss but what a jerk.

On cheap books I never bother with tracking.  Too frustrating for a buyer to pay $15 shipping for a $4 book.  I've sold hundreds of books and no issues yet.  I don't ship to 'problem' countries however.

Comic Link's shipping fee to Canada?

Any fellow Canadians have an idea of what they charge?

    ComicLink shipping:

    1-3 $70
    4-6 $75
    7-12 $90

I was quoted that about 1y ago. They use FedEx default, but they may use USPS at your request but at same cost.  I would recommend USPS.

As an international buyer, I confirm.

They charge an outrageous amount in import taxes, even for item shipped to countries where the import fees is not collectet for comics, like the UK

Totally agree, and typically I also ignore books using the GSP.  However if you're buying a single book of low value (~$20), I believe there are no import duties so it wouldn't be that big a deal? HOWEVER, I believe with this program combined shipping is not permitted.  So once again, there is no advantage.  What a scam...

  6. I've ordered from MHC 3 or 4 times in order to quickly fill large holes in the moderns part of my collection. My experiences have been very positive. One-stop shopping, with books that were well graded (for the most part), well packaged and low shipping costs. That being said, it's true that their regular prices on many issues can be high (one mile high!). However the key is to buy from them only during 'codeword' sales. They typically range between 40-60% off. All the comics I purchased from them last week at 60% off were cheaper than any others I could find on eBay.

  7. Yep, he paid in my case and I was good with it, as I told the poster who first brought up this guy is basically silent.

    Even for a $1175 comic.

So a customer does you the great service of purchasing a very expensive comic and then you bad mouth him and publish his 'name' in a thread about buyers from eBay that are so bad they should be blocked?

  8. lol..... I love it !! Especially the Vishion

It wasn't a random spelling mistake either cause I did it again here! Haven't looked at these in years and never even noticed. Looks like I was drawing pictures in class instead of paying attention to my spelling lessons (tsk) This is from the cover of Avengers #168

  9. Thanks for the comments. These were some of my first drawings. From Avengers Annual #7 and Marvel Two-in-One Annual #2. After 38y, I've finally added these comics back to my collection - won/purchased them from ComicLink. My life will be complete again :)

  10. Drew this one when I was 11y old. I'm sure most of you can guess the original source of inspiration :) I was quite the prolific artist between the ages of 11 to 14! I'll post a few more over the course of the next few weeks...
