3 out of my 4 submissions received by CCS on 4/11 went to SFG in early February and have already shipped. The last submission still hasn't moved to SFG. I want to call, but realize it's still within the 249 business day window. :(

I still have 1 of 5 subs from 4/7 still at CCS... hasn't even made it back to CGC. I will be calling on Monday. I also read your posts on the grades from your recent subs. I got 2 subs back 2-3 weeks ago. All over the place. There were a few I missed some stuff on... thats on me, but others it seemed like they were looking for perfection to get a 9.8, and a 9.8 to get a 9.6. Then there were a couple that I looked at and was like there is no way that should be graded that high. So then I have to state in my listings that I think the are over graded so I don't have to deal with returns. I just hate seeing my subs going from received back to CGC, graded, encapsulated, and shipped in 2 days time. Out of the 4 subs I've gotten back, the only one that I felt the grades were fair is the sub that took 2 1/2 months at CGC. The other 3 were received at CGC and shipped by the third day. I've kept a fair amount of the more valuable 9.4s and 9.6s and decided not to sell them because i think they are under graded. I am going to wait for this chaos to end, and resubmit them.

Nope but I've had delays where it wouldn't be picked up for a couple of days after the label was created.  I could only imagine how many trucks show up to pick up USPS, FedEx, or UPS packages.

Yeah... it just seems odd they would sit for 2 days without a label... now hearing you've never experienced this with as many subs you do, I'm kinda nervous...

The problem is that it's very hard to remember why we submitted certain books for pressing almost a year ago. When I got back my two 4/11 submissions this weekend, there were several books that had noticeable color breaking pressed out creases. For the life of me I can't remember if I saw these before and just took a chance submitting them anyway, or completely missed the defects. Heck, after 1 year I can't even remember submitting certain books. I will say that when I went back and inspected the 29 books that did receive 9.8 grades it wasn't like all of them were absolutely flawless. I would say that CGC grading was consistent with previous submissions. Once you go over a couple of tiny defects, the book will receive a 9.6 or 9.4 grade.

One thing I wanted to add. You are more likely to receive a 9.8 grade on a book with only 1 somewhat noticeable defect than another book that has 4 or 5 microscopic defects.

Yeah, I got a lot of 9.4s... most of which I thought had a fair chance at 9.6... cgc did not concur 😂😂😂😭

  4. 2 more of my 4/7 CCS/CGC submissions shipped today... ooofff... talk about some tough grading 😬 I'll be anxious to look at these. Out of the 4 that have been graded so far 1 sat in GEI for 2 1/2 months (great grades)... the other 3 were at CCS 2 1/2 months longer, but when transferred over flew through all of GEI, QC, shipped in a 2-3 day time period (not the best grades)... did these go to the new grading unit and expidited? These new graders need to ease up a bit... sheeeesh... or maybe I'm just old and need to invest in some glasses lol... 1 submission left to be finished, and now I'm nervous 😬

Patience paid off. Swung big with that spawn, seems that error is never around! Nicely done, the moon knight is another book I've been expecting to find the n the wild. To no avail

That Malibu error was a 9.4, dropped 2 grades... what can you do 🤷‍♂️ ASM 300 and 316 were a 9.6s, so guess there had to be a trade off somewhere...

Just got off the phone with Kim in customer service.
They had to send an email to CGC because there is nothing in the notes on my account about a discrepancy between packing slip and received.
Now I wait for a team member at CGC to research this situation.
Kim did confirm that the other 8 books on the invoice are graded but they have not shipped yet.

    Well that's awful 😬

My 4/7 CCS sub that has been in GEI since 11/19 went to QC today.

It changed to shipped in a day, yay!!! Super pumped about a couple of grades, and bummed about couple. So this sub had 4 (almost 5, but was too scared it would drop from a 9.8) books in it that I cracked open for the McFarlane sig even back in Dec 2019/Jan 2020. Sadly i became unemployed because my company decided to close it's doors shortly after I cracked open the slabs. So I didn't think it was a wise idea to spend the money on the event, and tossed them back in my collection to wait for another sig event. I got bored waiting, and sent them in. Here are the results:

    The awesome :

    ASM 300 CGC 9.6 old label -> CGC 9.8

    ASM 316 Newsstand CGC 9.6 -> CGC 9.8

    Now the not awesome...

ASM 301 CGC 9.6 -> CGC 9.2, guessing I must have damaged it taking it out, or it was way over graded. I didn't notice anything when i resubbed it, but i didn't really look very hard since it was a 9.6 already. Fyi I thought it was a good idea to crack open cases after a few glasses of whiskey, lucky i didnt mess them all up 😢

    Major bummer i guess...

Malibu Sun 13 error version CGC 9.4 -> CGC 9.0. Honestly, I always felt this was over graded. So I feel like this is an acceptable correction... a 9.2 would have been better though lol.

Super stoked with the grade bumps on the 300 and 316. The other 20 books were all great grades as well. Chalk today up as a win 😁

In first after a decade submitting books...I have a new submission in my account that is NOT mine.
AND a pending charge for this new submission that is not mine.
So...that's a thing to call about tomorrow.

Anyone else ever have this happen?

Wait... not only do I have to keep a look out for my submissions, but other people's as well?

I can relate. Seemingly it is the song that never ends, yes it goes on and on my friend! Some people started singing it, not knowing what it was, and they'll continue singing it forever just because; this is the song that never ends 😂

Thanks for that... friggin song is going to be stuck in my head for the next few hours 😐😂

Woah..... that can't be right for Modern

When I called Fri about my modern from CCS that has been in GEI for 2 1/2 months they told me it was in the encapsulation room, and the are currently encapsulating books that are from August of last year 🤷‍♂️ I also had a submission that transferred back from CCS last week ( same batch) and went straight to GEI... it was encapsulated and marked shipped yesterday...

  11. I'm just so confused. All 5 were sent together. They're all 20+ book submissions, so it's not like the one that zipped through in a week was only a couple of books. And they aren't brand new moderns. Newest couple books in there are like a decade, the rest are 20-30 yrs. I just called, and they really didn't have an explanation. Did my sub that back came last week get the new "experimental" streamlined service? That's about the only thing I can think of???

Edit : I just noticed the one that came back last week has a lower submission #

Just had one of my 4/7 subs bounce back over to CGC from CCS and is now SFG. That makes 2 of 5 so far... the first one is still in GEI since 11/19...

Nope... just sitting there waiting for 2 months... the one that came back to CGC today just changed to GEI, was in SFG for about 2-3 hours...

Oh my God, I'm about to lose it... so my 4/7 CCS/CGC submission that returned to CGC last friday and went to GEI that day just went to QC this morning... meanwhile the one that has been at GEI since 11/19 is still just sitting there... how does that happen???

2 book Sig Series Mod Slow with CCS Pressing stats:

CCS pressing order marked received 4/15

CCS pressing invoiced and payed on 12/3

    CGC received 12/22

    CGC G/E/I 12/22

    CGC Grading/Quality Control 1/17

CGC invoiced and payed on 1/26

When did your books switch to CCS in Process?

Well I've been told doubly that my Books will be processed.

My Jim Lee sketch Remarque is in "shipping and may ship today or tomorrow", and My 20 book sub moderns slow were moving quick to GEI around Dec.

The GEI moderns are now, I'm being told, close to 4 or so months more; although, they are in encapsulation.

Seemingly, was told, that Encapsulation is being done for August. I'm not sure, as I've been seemingly disinterested due to the waiting times. It is a bit sobering, to be honest.

You were told 4 more months for encapsulation, and the they are currently encapsulating books received in August? Am I reading this right?

No, she's right, and it's been that way for a while. CGC and CCS have always been separate companies. So now Pressing + Economy = 19 months.

Yeah, I know they are separate. I haven't submitted anything in a couple years, but past submissions always went through CGC a little faster than stated TaTs that spent time at CCS.

Unless there is a secret handshake or code. Expecting something equivalent to a free fast track for CCS submissions while everyone else pays the $15.00 fee.   I’m glad she said no.

Well if there was anything fast about my experience this time around, I must have missed it. I'm not expecting anything for free, but I also don't think people who submitted books in the same tier the last couple months should have priority over mine... they have been at CCS for almost a year. When I submitted turn around for both companies combined would have had my books to me mid Nov, mid Oct if you count the month they just sat at CGC to be opened... here's some hay for that high horse... sounds like you've been on him a while, I'm sure he's hungry...
