  2. Wow, I stop into a lot of random stores while traveling. I really need to make a note to check these things before dropping any amount of money I'm not comfortable with losing. Honestly I've always just taken it for granted that books at a comic shop were "safe". I guess I should really count myself lucky.
  3. Figured I might as well put these here. Never really did anything but doodle before. Recently was at Michaels and they had some crazy sale and we had a coupon......so I stocked up on sketchpads, bristol board, pencils, inks, prismacolor art markers and I think some other stuff. If you're going to get a wild interest in something, you may as well stock up when you have the chance, right? Anyway, I'll post these in the order I've done them in. Trying to draw every night, but I often don't find the time. Still tons and tons of room for improvement, but so far I'm amazed by how relaxing and how much fun I have finishing a piece. 1st up - Bats - From a couple weeks ago 2nd - Dream - Last week or so 3rd - Deadpool - this and the next are actually both from this week. 4th - Flash
  4. I have to assume most collectors actually prefer the tight grading.
  5. Yeah, but it's fugly... makes me wonder if anyone actually likes anything about their books besides the price tag anymore Sure. Rarity matters some.
  6. Most sources point towards it being the Flash Thompson version, as its stand alone and they aren't going to do the Symbiote going from Peter to Venom origin. Who knows though, I doubt the public even knows there's more than 1 venom. As a reader of Marvel, there's only one venom. There is Eddie Brock's Venom, and Flash wearing a symbiote.
  7. Seems like an awful lot of 9.9s have popped up recently as well.
  8. http://www.ebay.com/itm/252286424986?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I think this is a new record.
  9. I dont see it. Cable doesn't have what Deadpool has. Teenagers don't a care about Cable they love Deadpool. Right now its just speculators gambling. While I agree that Cable is not near as popular as Deadpool, I also highly doubt it's teenagers dropping $300+ for raw and $800+ for graded copies of NM98
  10. https://www.dcbservice.com/ -- Really like this service. I've had a handful of 9.8s straight from them. Very very rarely anything lower than 9.4. Heard good things about these two as well. http://www.mycomicshop.com/subscriptionservice http://www.tfaw.com/Comics/Pre-Orders
  11. That's an impressive result, but I don't expect to see many like it soon (although my CGC 9.8 would like to believe otherwise) Yeah, I just noticed it when I was about to list mine for sale. Definitely not the trend on that book when you look at ebay past sales.
  12. Weird. When he was at Wizard World Pittsburgh I didn't pay anything for sigs. I didn't get any Deadpool / Cable related books signed. In other news, whats up with this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Valiant-Comics-Shadowman-Issue-1-Comic-in-nm-m-New-Condition-1992-/361363239569?hash=item5422ed7291:g:K~EAAOSwYGFUwZ7i
  13. Woah, those Graphic Fantasy's are amazing Greggy.
  14. I don't think I would take that for a nice looking 9.2, but I'll be interested to hear what everyone else says. c I would not take that unless I needed the money for another purchase (or something else) sooner rather than later. Easily leaving $15 on the table, which isn't that much, but is a large percentage when you break it down into that books value.
  15. This is a fluke, right? http://www.ebay.com/itm/True-Believers-Deadpool-1-NM-MT-Reprints-New-Mutants-98-1st-appearance-/371549205863?hash=item56820ef567:g:CHQAAOSwKtVWtrVU
  16. Atrocious art !!! , Picasso is much worse and commands much higher prices.
  17. Junk.......what happens if it stays between 800 and 1000.....
  18. .....a few months ago I was going to pick up Forever People 1 in decent condition, but I decided I'd wait. I mean, what are the odds that the whole scenario of me putting off buying IM55 would backfire twice? Oh well, won't be the last collection book I pass on that gets crazy hot.
  19. I think it'll see a slight bump post movie, maybe close the gap to 1k by half. After that I think it will get steady increases each year. I also think new copies hitting the census will start slowing down in the next year.
  20. Nice! The 9.9s are one heck of a bonus!
  21. I def prefer coupons for 4 standard subs over $150 in credit but one can hardly blame CGC for their new policy. They were basically giving away $90 in service with the 4 coupons. Partner sites do charge a fee for subbing through them so the $150 in credit reimbursement for membership does save money, if you sub a decent chunk of books to CGC. I also greatly prefer cutting down the number of people who handle my books , to just myself and CGC employees. Submission tracking is not all that important to me, in relation tothe above pounts. I see it largely as a fringe/complimentary benefit to membership. All good points. I should have added that I am by no means a high volume submitter. I also have the added benefit of having a local shop that I can submit with for nearly the same price I would pay myself with the discount.
  22. I really miss the 4x standard coupons. In fact, I may not renew my membership and just start submitting through the "partner" sites instead. I don't check my grades online anymore, preferring to be surprised when I open the box so I don't see a ton of benefit in the membership anymore.
  23. seeing these TATs on fast track has me seriously reconsidering sending in books slow track
