  1. Have to list some pieces to cover a Heritage win - hate to see some of these go, but such is life! First wins, please message with any questions. 2. Not a traditional comic, but I thought this thread was the best to share this - just got it back from being framed and matted. First appearance of Huey, Dewy, and Louie in the Donald Duck strip from 10/17/37.
  3. I've wanted this book since I saw it higlighted in an old Overstreet guide (87 if I remember correctly). First Mickey Mouse, first Disney book overall. Pretty sure it's a first print (includes the infamous "kill" lyrics), but the "printed in the US" on the cover is throwing me off. Either way, super happy to finally have a copy!
  4. Hi all - looking for any of these pages from the 1990 Flash Special. Haven't seen any for sale on the interwebs so hoping I might find some luck here. Thanks!
  5. Thank you!! My wife found them and pushed me to get them - I wanted more of a traditional-type display case. She was spot-on, per usual - I love how the shelves display. The Joker-Harley statue was an anniversary gift from her, too. Needless to say, she's a keeper! LOVE your Hulk/Wolvie statue...
  6. This is my favorite thread on here, by far!! I've loved getting ideas from what boardies are doing with their comic rooms. I've got a ways to go with mine, but here's my progress so far. Once I get stuff matted and up on the walls I'll share an update.
  7. It took me a bit, but I've found my OA collecting focus - Clone Sage original art! As a big Scarlet Spider fan, I was really excited to find this...the (very literal) first appearance of Ben Reilly. The recap of the previous two issues in the Power and Responsibility Arc is just a sweet bonus.
  8. Adding to my Clone Saga collection - two fantastic pages courtesy of @Meeley Man!! Thanks again!
  9. SO much awesomeness in this thread!! Published Detective Comics 524 - second appearance Jason Todd, first time named (released same month as Batman 357). $250
  10. Big thanks to @romitaman - I was able to feed my growing Spider-Clone sickness with this great page of Ben Reilly from ASM 394. Loved this page when I first saw it almost 25 years ago, and now vert happy to have it in my collection. Thanks again Mike!
  11. I'm in the process of getting a load of OA framed and matted, but here are my favorites so far - Detective 524 page that includes the second appearance of Jason Todd (and the first time we get his name). I've been looking for a Buscema Wolverine page for a looooong time, and I was very happy to win this page in last month's Heritage auction. Finally, the first-ever appearance of Kaine (definitely my favorite character to come out of the Clone Saga). Thanks!
  12. Afternoon! If you have a page from either Buscema or Aparo for sale, please let me know...I'd love to finally get a piece from either of them. Budget is around $1000. Thank you!
  13. That was exactly my thinking. I've been fortunate - I was able to get awesome Batman sketches, in person, from Neal Adams, George Perez, and Jim Lee. Adding a Miller sketch, in person, was more important to me than the aesthetics of the sketch itself. Sure, the DD looks better, but I don't really see "Miller" in the sketch. The Batman, for whatever faults it might have, looks "Miller-esque" to me. I got to meet the man that introduced me to a different side of comics from GI Joe and Transformers, and that's worth so much more to me than what the sketch looks like. I'm beyond thrilled with it.
  14. Thanks again for sharing this one! It's much easier to navigate than other sites I was using. And, thanks for the breakdown, N e r V!
  15. The DD sketch was definitely nice, but I'm a die-hard Batman fan and getting a sketch from Miller, in-person, was a dream come true.
  16. My buddy and I drove up from Phoenix yesterday to attend the Frank Miller signing at Torpedo Comics in Vegas. He was doing Batman remarks for $250, and I thought this might be my best chance to finally get a Batman sketch from Miller for my collection. I have Batman sketches from Neal Adams, Jim Lee, George Perez, and adding Miller in is a long-time dream. The third party of our group had to cancel last second, so I was going to have Miller sign his copy of DD 158 since I was only there for the remark. It's finally our turn to meet Miller, and I happily hand over the DD issue to be signed for my buddy. I wanted the Batman remark on a backing board instead of a blank cover, so I handed it over to Frank with a huge smile and grabbed my phone to record him sketching. It had been made very clear that Frank was ONLY doing Batman remarks, so I didn't think to specify what I wanted. I'd seen some examples of the remarks he'd done throughout the day - portfolio shots of Batman in Miller's distinctive style. I notice that the sketch he's doing for me is front-facing - cool!!! He finishes up and hands it over to me, and as I start to walk away I look down to admire my long-coveted-never-thought-I'd-get-a-chance-to-have-it Miller Batman and see that he's sketched Daredevil. Now, under ANY other circumstances I'd be ecstatic, but I desperately wanted Batman to round out my Dark Knight HOF sketches. Miller's assistant looked at me like I was crazy when I told him my dilemma - "That's literally the ONLY Daredevil sketch Frank has done today!!!". I knew Miller was just being extremely nice to me, figuring that I wanted a DD sketch to go along with the 158 he signed, but he graciously did a Batman sketch for me. Sadly, I wasn't able to keep the DD sketch, but it turned out really nice.
  17. Wow...above and beyond!!! Thank you you much @Unca Ben
  18. Happy Sunday everyone! Denny will be attending the Tucson Con later this year - I'd love to have him sign a copy of his first Batman work, but I just can't figure out what that might be. I've been searching through pages on Google for the last couple of hours to no avail. I'm THINKING it might be Justice League #66 - would anyone here be kind enough to confirm that (or what the actual issue would be)? Thank you!!!
  19. Cool topic! I'd add in Genus #2 (anthropomorphic Katchoo and Francine from Strangers in Paradise, pre-dates SiP #1) and Genus #4 (anthropomorphic Katchoo cover). Scud #1 is one of my faves, too, but I can't remember what the print run was.
  20. That's funny - I feel the same way. I haven't enjoyed a series as much for a long time, and I'm afraid it will be cancelled due to Liefeld, low sales, or the like. Hopefully the word gets out and it picks up some steam...it's a genuinely great series.
  21. Love it. One of two moderns I'm buying right now. I only read the first few issues of the original series before I gave up, but I was still able to get some of the in-jokes with the new series. I've been trying to pick up the variants for each issue just for the love of collecting. Great stuff. Actually headed out now to grab issue 8 since work was crazy this week.
