  1. Abe is better in the comic than in the show- I hope they kill him off in the show with some dignity...
  2. Jesus stole the show last night- everyone notice the insane price increase on issue 92 over the last 48 hours...whoa!
  3. --the whole saga is just a dream- the entire walking dead story is just a nightmare Lori is having while laying in the hospital waiting for Carl to be born....none of it is real! Neo makes an appearance in issue #156!
  4. "Think he is looking for 54,62,64,71,79,80, and 89...blue. I'm going to keep an eye out for them. Its always cool seeing people working on sets and its a monster undertaking for the WD set,IMO. _________________________ 79 isnt too hard to find a 9.8- the rest are tough- it seems as though there are 9.4's and 9.6's all day- but the 9.8s in that group dont show-up very often- however there are still a lot of solid raw copies out there that could get you a 9.8- (maybe 9.9) normally when the tv show puts on a new character- people will try to sell more of their stash to bring in the big bucks- i bet after christmas when the show starts back up there will be some over-priced 9.8's looking for a new home! good luck in your search! i had the hardest time finding a 122 9.8- i finally found one and jumped on it- a few weeks later there were 3 or 4 9.8s for sell- when it rains it pours!
  5. .....will Negan every get to swing Lucille again? is it going to happen? who's man (or woman) enough to claim Lucille's next victim?

  8. Inaugural box filling ceremony dedicated to Ryan Ottley & The Sensei A new prison was needed to house these captured fiends. Though there is no fortress big enough to contain the endless amount of Walking Dead #1 reprints, I did conjure up a special place to keep them quiet...for now. The benefactor of inspiration behind the making of this new penitentiary is The Walking Dead #100 Ottley Sketch variant. For many reasons left undisclosed this particular comic is probably the most crucial comic I have ever acquired. Obtaining this comic really did change my life, and was the key to a door-way of knowledge that I would have never discovered without the Sensei; and Ryan Ottley for making one of the best sketches ever, with The Walking Dead leaping off the page in beautiful blue and silver. (I had to face-off with a ninja to get it!) It might not be a #1 reprint, but the magic this comic does posses is strong enough to capture and hold some of the onslaught of #1 reprints forever roaming the country side. (5 new variants have already been announced within the last 13 seconds- I am already out of room again) (...and money) ....is it a plague?....or is it a curse? Either way this is a fun comic to chase, and the survivors I have met on my journey so far have all been very helpful teachers, and none of them has swung a bat or machete at me...yet...(but there could be a battle over that new limited-to-500-prints-special-edition-reprint #1 coming out tomorrow....)
  9. Don't let your comics fly out of your aching hands and break on the floor So as soon as I get home from walking to the local Walmart where I purchased a scanner to start the long process of scanning in all of the 180+ comics (front and back)to spice up my set there is a message from the Red Ninja informing me of how his search for a big enough scanner was in vane. I didn't read this message before I bought the scanner, didn't think to measure anything, and after 45 minutes of battling my computer to get the scanner to work- wouldn't you know- the scanner is too small! my house is lined with sky-lights- so there is no escaping the light in the day- I guess I could read the instructions to the camera to make things easier- but who has time for that- so after weeks of moving around my house trying to locate a good spot to take pictures I finally nailed it- or at least its good enough for me. only thing is I can only take pictures at night- every picture has to be cropped or it turns sideways in my gallery- and because of how I have to squat down on hold the camera, my old- can only take so many pictures until my arms are jelly, and my knees ache, and my back is soar. so at the rate I'm going- shooting and cropping 15-20 books a night- I should be done in about...6-7 months- my first causality was my number 11 9.0. as I pulled it from the box, it flew from my hands and hit the hard wood floor pretty good. the case cracked, but the comic is ok...and instead of waiting to fix the case- I figured this was the perfect excuse to go ahead an upgrade to a 9.8. so I did. oh and look!- some of the bags I buy to store them in (since CGC bags are ) are wrinkly- so now I need more bags too. the good side to all this- its been a blast revisiting old covers I've not gazed on in quite some time. handling each book pegs my nostalgia meter to 10- some of the cover art is amazing- though I wont lie- the use of computers to make things just right kinda bugs me- but its the future man!... Working on this comic set makes me feel pretty hyped! I really want to give these books, and my collection the respect it deserves. it might just be plastic, paper, and horror to an average Joe; a superficial task to bother with- but this has been a huge part of my life for sometime now- I have to do them justice! plus its pretty fun! Breaks over! back to work! To see old comments for this Journal entry, click here. New comments can be added below.
