Danno I saw your question and ...

I know how these things tend to spiral downhill when there is no need.

So for my part to head off any confusion ...

Danno 561 - I can't clarify your your question - that's up to the seller ... but badger did post first and  aelelarkin did respond to Badger first and I will gladly defer to Badger as he was in first on the 4 and 5 if he wants them - ... so no muss or fuss.

I will of course still take the 3 as there is no issue on that book for sure ...

and if Badger passes on the 4 and 5 - I'll take those also - just to be clear

Hope that helps everybody and keeps things running smooth:foryou:

Got to go offline for a bit ... but I'll do whatever - it's all good on my end.

You are an honorable man indeed! I could see this getting a little crazy with all of those conditional I’ll take it

It's been my experience in my years on these boards that an unconditional :takeit: will always trump any negotiation or qualified/conditional :takeit:.  Granted I have rarely been on here recently, but I don't see why that would have changed.  It's also why I've been asking people to confirm their conditional purchases after I've posted scans.  I don't consider it sold unless it's been confirmed.

    Thank you.  I agree!

Once a classic, always a classic, isn't that how it works? That's how I see it. You can take 5, but you'll have to arm wrestle me for 3. Man, joking aside, those comics do not end up on the market much at all.

It might have (see below) but I actually liked the film. Quite a lot. I do agree with the 8-12 year old statement but to me that's what differentiates it from the rest. Captain Marvel was always about wish fulfillment, it was a comic tailor made for kids. So having the film follow that same idea is beautiful and it makes a nice contrast to the other superhero films around at the moment.

I don't know man, for golden age books that are supposed to be "hot", they still seem ridiculously cheap.

I just bought a slabbed Captain Marvel Jr 28. It's the second copy Heritage ever sold. They sold it unslabbed for 179 and then it was brought back 3 years later, slabbed and sold (to me) for 89. A Mac Raboy cover, and a comic many Raboy collectors don't have (assumption based on very small amount of recorded sales). And yet I bought it at a price that resulted in the seller getting nothing for it. That 89 bucks doesn't cover the fees spent on grading and selling at auction. That just sounds like the opposite of a hot comic. Am I the only one thinking these prices are low? Like lower than one would assume? Once again, not complaining, I love being able to buy these awesome books for the same price they were 20 years ago, now that I finally have some more disposable income. Good thing I prioritized Marvel Silver age 10 years ago when it was still  somewhat affordable. Hey, maybe that's what's happening. So much money is being dumped elsewhere that something had to give.

I LOVE Mac. I love those Mac prices even more :D

I picked this one up today.  Generally, I do not gravitate to these lower priced books but loved the cover and for $25, I felt compelled to grab it.

I'll shine a ray of light and say that I think there's a chance at 1.5 with the wraps still intact and not completely split... 1.0 does seem the most likely grade

Slab it so that the frayed pieces can at least be laid flat for a more pleasing appearance if your intention is to sell, otherwise I agree with @Galen130 and just put it in a shiny mylar

That is what I was thinking with regard to presentation.  That being said, I just sent off 25 books or so for grading and did not include this one.

With the overall presentation of your book, it might have a harder time getting a higher grade slabbed. The damage to the spine is pretty severe  with and small pieces out of cover + tear on the back.

However, both raw and slabbed low-grade copies of Marvel Spotlight #5 both sell for good amounts.

Ok. You’re right about the low grades still fetching a few hundred.  Not a book for me though
