  1. Has anyone used the Epson perfection v330 for scanning slabs?

It's not legal sized, but seems to be the cheapest 'new' scanner that uses CCD technology.

Would be good to hear positive feedback before I pull the trigger on one. :wishluck:

  2. It would appear that Valiant variants and #1's, after 20 years, has finally paid off for those people who have held onto them for all these years after the bubble burst!

    Harbinger #1 - Currently selling for $63.

    Eternal Warrior #1 Gold - at $50 to $80ish

    X-O Manowar #1 sells at a brisk $20

Harbinger pink seems to get about $55.

Valiant is all over The Market's modern books heating up! :ohnoez:

    hm

Maybe the time is now right to sell my NM sets of X-O Manowar 1-10 and Harbinger 1-10 (with pink sendaway book also NM)

  3. man, so glad I randomly saw this announce yesterday evening. I must have randomly got one of the last ones for mail order. the WC ones were still available until about 8 last night.

Is it me or is $250 just a great price for this book?

Also getting the WW Wonder-con book. Super stoked to have these 2 great books.

250 is a steal. Stan's been charging more than 50 for his sig for a while now. And a sketch that nice should be 100 by itself. Add in the book and that it is limited edition of only 250 copies and I would have expected 350 to 400 to be the retail.

So let me get this straight...you will be flipping them for $400? :P

  4. While we're at it, how much work did Miller do on the first Wolverine Limited Series? I recall that Rubinstein said that Miller did only extremely loose breakdowns, though I don't recall whether that was directly on board or on separate loose sheets of paper like DD #185-190. Does anyone remember?

I'm not sure on the specifics, but it is pretty clear from looking at the art style that it is mainly Rubinstein.

  5. Has Frank Miller himself ever made a statement on this issue? Have we ever had any direct confirmation from him as to what he did or didn't do regards art on his DD run? Surely this can't be that hard to clarify. (shrug)

All this anecdotal, second and third party information only succeeds in muddying the waters further. For such a major run on a major title, it just seems crazy that there is so much misinformation. ???

  6. I dont like the part where posts have to start with"WTS:" its too blah shy.gif

    893scratchchin-thumb.gif I agree.

Also, the part about "threads may not be bumped to the top until a week after they have fallen off of the front page" is a big disappointment. I realize Arch is trying to prevent serial bumping, but a week seems much too long to keep any momentum. Speaking as one of the "little fish" that the guidelines are presumably trying to protect, I would have lost out on most of my sales if this had been in effect before. confused-smiley-013.gif

I agree with both sentiments. thumbsup2.gif

    So do I.

I don't think a time limit should be put on the bumping of a thread, rather a number of bumps limit should be applied. Say for example three seller bumps after all other activity has ceased? confused-smiley-013.gif

  7. Major Kudos to blowout for some nice Neal Adams Detectives. 893applaud-thumb.gif

I've been wanting to read the rest of the Man-Bat saga since I bought #400 earlier this year from ComicSupply. #402 is one of my favorite covers from the BA and now I own the Don Rosa copy.

    yay.gif

Kudos to Norinn Radd for being one of the best on the boards, and a man with taste too! thumbsup2.gif

  8. Hey Frederic, great idea for a thread!

Are some of these books my former CGC beauties that you deslabbed, or did you pick up some nice raw copies? 893scratchchin-thumb.gif

Either way, a really cool bunch of books. 893applaud-thumb.gif

ST 103, 106, 116 & 120 were bought raw and then slabbed (except for 106, I did not scan them once slabbed) In fact, ST 106 was my first purchase on eBay and I got it at a great price grin.gif

As for your former beauties, I still have ST 117 & 118. thumbsup2.gif

shy.gif Your former ST 120 is in the caring hands of another forumite, the one that you originally sold it to...

Glad to hear they are all still being enjoyed! 893applaud-thumb.gif
