Congratulations, Peanuts is one of my strip grails as well along with Calvin and Hobbes and to a lesser extent, Pogo.

Anyone seen this yet? I was impressed with his performance in 13 Hours and this new horror flick he directed is at 96% on RT. Looks great.

I won't be able to see it for a while but I'm a huge fan of the book.  I'm really surprised they revealed who Aech was in one of the trailers though.  That wasn't revealed until nearly the end of the novel.

But now kinda dig. 

It may have been art from decades past or last year.

One of my examples: When I first saw this Superman image from Frank Miller, my first thought was wtf. Fist as large as his head and that obscuring splatter effect that went out in the 80’s. So why do I keep going back to view it? It’s growing on me for Gods sake!  But the asking price is more than I’m willing to pay when I’ve picked up published work by FM for half that. 

So what art have you reversed positions on?

I think Jim's a great artist but I don't have much desire to own anything by him since my collection is nostalgia fueled.  I was really tempted to get one of his DKIII covers which was pretty much the best thing that came from that endeavor. While I contemplated the price of those, someone else did not. I've only commissioned five artists total and knew going in I would never recoup the cost and I was good with that.

Easy one for me since I sold or gave away all of my sketches. Only have two or three left that I kept.  Here is my favorite.

I’ve never read a Black Panther comic and have zero interest in the character but I’m really looking forward to seeing this movie. I enjoyed his appearance in Civil War and some of the reviews I read said this isn’t the standard Marvel fare. 

That is very nicely done and a perfect way to present both the original and redrawn art. I wonder if I would have had the glue removed (if possible) but having it there is still part of the process which is very cool to see. Thanks for sharing that, we all just got to see some Ronin art for the first time. Like watching a Directors Cut of your favorite 80s movie.

Because it’s meaningless. It’s just a disposable overlay for dressing. Could have been made by the owner.

I’m not a Marvel hater, I just don’t like most of their movies or their style. Many do obviously and that’s great. While I really didn’t like the first two Thor’s, this one was just “turn off your brain fun.” The humor in some places was subtle and better than Marvels standard cheese. I just had a good time watching it which surprised me considering how I felt about the other two. I have a very short list of Marvel movies I like including Winter Soldier, Civil War and Dr. Strange. Yes, I liked that one too.  The pacing of Ragnarok also worked for me, never a dull moment. 

Finally watched this the other day. I did not like the first two Thor movies. I loved this one. Shows what a difference a good director can make.

It’s not like you’re deceiving the seller with a story to get a discount. It’s for sale. Buy it. Sell for a profit and funnel the funds back into the hobby for something you love. 

I’m really enjoying Kill or be Killed as well. The art by Phillips is great and their colorist is top notch.

There are some visual cues in Shape that are hard to ignore when compared to the student film. Regardless, Shape was not a great film. The leads performances were fantastic against a story that fell short for me. I expected more, or something different than the predictable finale we got. Del Toro is a one-hit-wonder for me. Pans Labyrinth was absolutely fantastic. He hasn’t done anything else nearly that good.

Wow, what an update to this thread. Another AP. I knew there was more since the back of my previous copy had the AP bleed from being signed and stacked on top of another one. Had I known about the auction I would have bid and I don’t even collect comics anymore. Congratulations!

The grade shouldn’t matter but it does to some, if not many. My favorite SS sketch cover is a 9.4. When I sold off my comic collection I kept about 5 books including this one. I would still love it if it was a 1.0 or even a Qualified label. The only reason I had it slabbed is because it’s a comic book and the slab offers a little more protection for handling and nice presentation for the art. I’m not framing a comic book to put up on the wall. No offense to anyone who does. If Frazetta had painted on a blank comic sketch cover, I’ll bet the grade would hardly be a factor at auction. 

I would prefer them to slab sketch covers in similar fashion to how they slab solo sketches.

I would love to see a Maxx 1 or Darker Image sell at auction in 9.8. Never seen it happen. I would not be suprised to see those acheive great prices as well.

I have never seen that Vanguard NS before. Maybe I never looked... thought I had them all. 

9.8 Maxx #1 would probably reach $50 on a good day.  I don’t get on eBay much anymore but I just saw this one. Used to be my copy some years ago. Looks like I left some money on the table ha.

Just watched it at home. The run time was good with me. If it was any shorter I would be whining for an extended cut. Anyway, I loved the film. Fantastic sequel/companion to the original. I did not want another Harrison Ford return like in the last Indiana Jones or Star Wars which was hokey and gimmicky. He pulls it off in Blade Runner with the build up to find him and his limited screen time.  Powerful soundtrack as well that really compliments the scenes showing the world of BR.
