  1. A bit tangential because it is a book versus a comic, but supposedly Almost Got 'Im (golden book) surpassed BA 12.and WD 1 in FMV for a 9.8. Two websites reported that a CGC 9.8 copy of Almost Got 'Im was sold for $2,288 late last year. I still haven't seen where this book was sold so I can't verify first hand.
  2. Not sure if this is the same book, but Midtown sold a 4x signed book (Brian K Vaughan Cliff Chiang Jared Fletcher And Matt Wilson) for $2.99 in 10/15?
  3. I was a little too fast on the fingers and can't edit my last post On 5/9/2019 at 10:07 AM, Twisted_Road said: Update Grading/QC 5/23/19
  4. update. After some additional email exchanges, they agreed to reholder the scratched/scuffed slabs.
  5. Overstreet. There is also a company that grades slabs (joking). Seemed like you got a little bent outta shape there.
  6. Well, CGC says this isn't a problem. I inspected the slabs further. Eight had major scratches/scuffs on the front, some in the center of the cover (seen above). In total 39 out of 50 slabs had pretty severe scuffs or scratches. Here is the official response after I asked for help with the eight that had worse issues. "Sorry for the delay. We had management review the images and they feel that these marks are normal and within our acceptable limits. Generally, when the marks are small and on the side or edges of the holder, this will fall within our acceptable limits. If the marks are large and go across the middle of the book or cover design then we can reholder them at no charge. The holders are designed to protect the book and are not designed to be completely resistant to scratches and marks. "
  7. I've had books get rejected as 9.8s for presscreen, yet they get a 9.8 when resubmitted without a prescreen (without pressing). I don't see CGC grades as a gold standard, but I do value their service.
  8. A total of 12% (5 total from two subs) of my books that were just graded have major scratches (some might say scuff marks). These books were delivered to me from the CGC yesterday. I havent had a problem like this before. Hate to complain, but what would you do if this happened to you? The image is from one the batgirl #23s from my sub that had very visible marks.
  9. Crossover Value with CCS Press Received by CGC on 2/5/19 and sent to CCS Billed by CCS 4/19/19 Received again by CGC on 5/8/19
  10. Happened to me for a Saturday delivery. It was delivered to CGC on Monday and everything was fine.
  11. Howling commando sales are related to spec that Glyph will be in a disney+ show
  12. Billed this morning for my two modern prescreen subs received on 3/7. One just shipped. Edit: both subs have shipped.
  13. My second batch of modern prescreens that were submitted 3/7 were graded this morning. Only two rejects out of 25 making this my personal best 9.8 prescreen submission.
  14. 64 working days after cgc received then from ccs. I'm guessing they will be shipped sometime around mid-to-late june.
  15. My modern prescreen sub that was received on 3/7 was graded today (5/2). They do still post what books were rejected before it ships, which is nice.
  16. I looked back in this thread and this user posted a screenshot of his/her order with those days. I'm in the same boat as you are, gregwynn. My order was received and sfg one day before your sub. I am confused.
  17. Wish I could say that my modern pre-screen batch that was received on 3/7 has been graded, but it hasn't yet. I keep thinking any day now. I can't tell when the most recent modern prescreens were graded/shipped based on what is posted in this thread.
  18. Yes. Seems like it happened when they updated their submission tracking system.
  19. When the books are shipped. You can also deduce how many books were rejected when you get billed (you just won't know what books were rejected).
  20. Modern prescreen slow track. "Received" 3/7 (delivered to CGC 3/4) and SFG on the same day. Not getting my hopes up.
  21. 25 modern slow track (without prescreen) 1/14/19 received 2/15/19 shipped safe
  22. I have no idea what the actual difference is, and gadzukes might be on to something (it might be related in part to the use of a humidity chamber when potentially beneficial). I suspect that a "quick press" is a one and done heat press and a "press" via CCS might involve more effort (e.g., multiple, heat press attempts, a tacking iron or something similar for spot issues, and/or a humidity chamber, all when deemed potentially beneficial). I've experimented with pressing and sometimes I need a few attempts with a cold press, which takes additional time, effort, and ties up equipment. Again, all 100% speculation on my part.
  23. Happy to help. To put things in perspective, I bought a 2nd print of that book somewhere around 1987 and I thought it was a 1st because it wasn't labeled as a 2nd print. Back then, nobody wanted 2nd prints. That said, there is a now market for 2nd prints and sometimes 2nd prints command a higher value often due to rarity or a different cover(I still don't get it). A 2nd print CGC 9.8 DKR #2 sold for $100 recently. There are only 14 2nd print 9.8s graded in the census, which might lead some collectors to buy one (rarity or to complete a collection). Even odder, in my opinion, is that a CGC 9.4 graphic novel that contains all 4 DKR issues sold for $140 (still trying to figure out how that fits in a slab). That said, congrats on the 1st print.
