  2. Jay you little bugger! haha! I dont think that you will have any issues getting 9.4/9.6's out of those. I was very happy with my books from JS. Elsa may have a bone to pick with you still on those though! Then again...it looks like he got his CGC 9.4 Copy of #2 there for $201 above.
  3. Weird Tales of the Macabre #2 CGC 9.4 NM Seaboard Atlas - $201.50
  4. Another very dynamic scene that Frazetta has created. Just love the title..."Duel of the Monsters"...Man when will these books get respect? Amazing covers, insanely cool stories and interior art, in addition most of the fore fathers of comics where forged here. As October has said, Magazines have tremendous bang for the buck. -bounty
  5. HaHa. Well as regarding the print run on these books. I think with a little sleuth work we could get a pretty darned good idea. However many people generally attend the big NYC conventions of that time, I'm sure the print run was fairly close to that number maybe within 50%-75% of the expected attendence? I dunno. I wonder if they were given away? Or if they actually had to be purchased? They fact that they were only distributed from one Convention, makes them pretty darn cool for sure! I'll trade you both for Midgrade copies of Hell-Rider #1 & #2 Nice books man! -bounty
  6. Oh snap Jay...those are sweet! Never really saw those before! Man I see very little spine stress and scuffing on that black issue (maybe tough to see from the scan )...I think your being anolie Very sweet books and story! -bounty
  7. I know that I got a Creepy #1 for ya man I wouldnt get too bogged down with Back cover scuffing, it is quite common on the early Warren books that had non-white backcovers. I've seen CGC 9.4's with them as they are almost expected of the grade since that is how many of them arrived (to a certain extent) for sale. -bounty
  8. Noice boiiiiieeeee! Can't beat that! Any more worthy pick ups?
  9. Another one of my faves. Again, I felt that Frazetta was awesome at symmetry. Making a page feel very balanced yet still artistic. Simply one of the Great Horror Covers of all time. Bar none. -bounty
  10. Nice covers guys! That Eerie 7 really is sweet October. Dele... I'll have to start a thread for Top 10 Vampi Cleave covers! I think that I can get an initial round of books together for the pool... How about this fine peice of.........art You got Frazetta bringing a perfect balance to this cover with symmetry as well as colors...he is a genius. This also containted the first ever published peice of art by Berni Wrightson as a fan page sketch. It was low distribution to boot! (As documented by Overstreet.) -bounty
  11. Yes definitely Yowza. If everyone could when they post links, do it as a URL function that the forum provides, so that you can also put in a description of the link (since after time links go dead). This is just a way to keep a legit history of the items...such as this: FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND #1 - CGC Graded 9.4 -- $11,611.00 -bounty
  12. Out of all the work that Frazetta did for Warren, I think that this cover takes the cake for me. Very industrial, grimy and has a real "horror mood" to it. I feel that this is the most underated early Creepy issue. Simply love it. C'mon folks. Where's your favorite Warren's? I said favorites meaning dont just post stuff to post it, but tell us why you like it? That's what makes it fun! Now let's see em!
  13. Another pretty cool book. Halloween is definitely one of my favorites of the slasher flicks. Micheal Myers is one mean mutha...shut your mouth. Very cool cover that Chaos came out with on this one. It uses that original video cover/poster for the movie which is so classic. Also is a glow in the dark issue and limited to 6,666 copies (how clever!)
  14. Thanks buddie! Again, I do feel extremely blessed to have come across them. But Jay, I will definitely dial you up and let you know if I'm looking to pass these beautiful peices on man. It's amazing how great the Internet has proven to be such an important tool in our hobby. It brings awareness to so many levels, on items that many would never have knew existed if not for its presence. -bounty
  15. Yah, I just got out of Jay's crawlspace to get my own copy of the latest OSPG last month, now I'm venturing out with other things Here is the deal. I unfortunately was on a haitus from collecting comics during 1993 when these came out. So I didn't get them from the newstand, otherwise I would have grabbed multi-pristine copies. SO, the reason why I was on haitus was because comics kind of fell into a hole around this time. With so many gimmick covers, and book prices becoming very expensive. I think that many departed the hobby for a bit of time around then, making less of these falling into the hands of your every Friday comic junkie. None the less, here are those prints that I was telling you guys about. Sorry that I dont have a scanner, it probably would do these more justice. I personally think that these are such beautiful peices even though they are quite industrial and crude. I would consider these one of my luckiest finds ever in comic related items, since I know that these original peices will never surface, this is the next best thing bar none. Glad to share them with you guys! -bounty
  16. I'll work on getting them up tonight Jay. Just for you buddy. -bounty
  17. Keith were you aware of those Jason VS. Leatherface books? I'm trying to get a feel for how "known of" they are. -bounty P.S. - Regarding my goodies that I mentioned. I become an acquaintance with the former Art Director of Topps. One of the things he did, was take extremely High resolution, high quality fiery output scans of all the original cover art for these 3 issues. THey were about 8x10 glossy extremely detailed prints, these were used to check the colors, and how they would display. They aren't really proofs,in the sense that none of the comic cover items (title, names, barcode, etc) were added. All you see is the canvis and painting. You can see the ruffled edges of the canvis, it is very cool. He said that they only did 1 copy of each issue, because of thier time crunch and the cost to do such a High Quality print. None the less, I was able to acquire these from him. Closest thing you will ever get to the original art, and they are to scale as far as I know. Anyway, they blow the actual comic covers out of the water. If anyone is interested, let me know and I will take some time out to take pics of these.
  18. Okay Guys now this is some real Cool . Simon the Biz Bisley, definitely has some of the most unique and bizzare art around, and He was definitely the perfect artist to do the covers for this series... First off, I'm not sure what the deal is with these books, but they must have had a very limited print run. They were one of the last sets of books to come out before Topps comics folded, so that might be a reason of the more constricted production. None the less, grabbing a set of these is insanely tough...and definitely one of those books that the Overstreet Guide's price doesnt correctly reflect (it lists them at Cover price still) yet I've seen sets of these sell for $40-$100 based off of condition. Anyway enough of my blabb'n, ...Let's get to the macabre! Issue #1...WOW - What an Amazingly dynamic pose of both these Horror Juggernaut's. Simply one of my favorite covers around... Issue #2... This cover may seem very weird. And many may not immediatly know why . Well, think Rockwell....Yep, the wholesome all American artist Norman Rockwell. This is a swipe of his famous "Freedom from Want" Painting. Simply classic if you ask me. I actually was lucky enough to get some goodies from the Head Art Director from Topps (if you guys ask me nicely I'll share them..hint hint ) and he said that they gave Simon complete creative control over these covers, which I think is awesome. Issue #3... Kind of weird that Jason had 3 covers of the series and Leatheface only had a cameo on the First Issue's cover. None the less this 3rd issue is probably the toughest of the set to get. I think that this was just about one of the last issues that Topps produced, and thus this reflected in the print run. Great Biz work again though... -bounty
  19. I'm not sure if this one was a one shot or not...but I'm also not sure if this is copper...Probably more likely a Modern?!?!
  20. Are'nt you guys slick (Jay, Keith, etc.) trying to avoid me in the Mag forum... These were some pretty sweet books that Chaos put out. I really enjoyed the Wrightson painted work... I didn't see anyone post these yet...pardon if I'm stepp'n on toes...
  21. By the way, this one is going to be TOUGH to quantify. Since they are just so damn hard to find, that they rarely go on the block. Gothic Romances #1 - CGC 9.6 - 1 Day Left - Bids at $1, 000+ -bounty
  22. Hey Mr. Bell how is it going. I had seen that book as well the day it was listed. Too far out of my range though. Here are my thoughts... First off, it looks to be a deal...but with a caveat On the Deal side, here are your supporting facts... Doug Sulipa Says: NM/MT (9.8) = NEAR MINT to MINT; Only about (1 in 100) to (1 in 1000) Extremely Carefully Hand-Picked with still NEW items can attain this Lofty essentially Flawless Grade! [current market value of a CGC graded 9.8 NM/MT copy, is about 10-25 Times Guide NM price! ] The Latest Overstreet guide with 9.2 NM- now as the basis, Eerie #2 is valued at $125 That gives this book a range of $1250-$3150 You bought it for the 66% percentile of that range. Which Isn't too bad. This is a key book, and at that a TOUGH book to get in HG. It has a black cover. In addition out of 33 copies graded there are only 3 above 9.2. One at 9.4, 9.6 and your 9.8 respectively. I think that it says a lot. Now when you say "deal" what does that mean exactly? Does that mean, do we think that you will be able to flip it for a higher price? Or does that mean is that a price that you are willing to pay and cherish as a permanent peice in your collection? I would say if your looking for a flip then it was not a good deal, for finding another buyer immediatly may be tough (except for maybe a jhalpe). If your talking about keeping this book in your collection, then I think that over the next 5 years it could appreciate into a $5,000 copy where at that point, as more core comic collectors/investors also get into the Magazine space it would justify it as a "good deal" on the sell side. I think that if you have the patience with the book then it was a great buy...barring that no other 9.8's are hiding...awaiting submittal. I'll tell you what though...I wish I had it! So nice grab -bounty
  23. Man we are really tough on Warren around here. So I thought we would play nice for a little bit and give everyone the opportunity to post some of thier favorites, nicest or whatever they want...regarding WARREN. I will start this with first off one of my favorite artists for his use of vibrant colors: Richard Corben, and on top of that my favorite cover that he did for Warren. Man I love this one... -bounty
