Absolutely adore this Halloween cover by Jusko. Look at that puk'n punk'n! Pretty rad that these beauties were limited to only 500 copies. Gives them a bit of extra desire-ability and scarcity...

Manhunt #4 is it a Leonard Brandt Cole?
bounty_coder replied to bounty_coder's topic in Golden Age Comic Books
Yeah, this part adds to the mystery a bit. It would seem to fit that Whitney would have done it due to the surrounding issues specifically. The Fact that LB Cole did work in these issues as well gives points to the Cole possibility. Ultimately; what strikes me the most is that the cover has that "Movie Theater Poster" feel which many Cole covers had. -
I wonder how many of us have bid against each other on many of these books I sent a batch of early 2000 Vampi Virgin's in earlier this year and was very happy with the results. Most coming back 9.8. I should dig em' out and show off...

Manhunt #4 is it a Leonard Brandt Cole?

It definitely feels like a love-child of Cole. If we were to follow the logic of your possibility; I would assume he would have most likely inspired the cover layout then. -
Manhunt #4...what a cool cover. Has this Eerie feeling of LB Cole DNA, but is not credited. Blacklight book by Fantagraphics says it could be a Cole cover and has it pictured but the mystery seems to still shroud. http://www.fantagraphics.com/blacklight/#/product/2347 Curious to know others thoughts...

Grading Experience
bounty_coder replied to Taneleer Tivan's topic in Newbie Comic Collecting Questions
In my opinion the trickiest part of grading comes down to Stains / Discoloration / Foxing. These defects can REALLY hammer a grade on an otherwise VERY NICE book. If a book has those defects; I usually first grade the book as if they don't exist; and then assess how much EXTRA grade comes off for said Stains / Discoloration / Foxing at the end... -

Not realized sales. But posting because it's historically been quite rare to find Eerie Publication books for sale CGC'd. Often raw copies in Mid-HG will command hundreds of dollars; so I've been a bit surprised that more have not been graded. I think when it really comes down to it the lower general grade of Eerie Pub books and the cost to slab a mag have tempered submissions. Intriguing to see some of the highest graded copies finally start to get graded and listed... -

Thank you. I had let go close to 10 years ago what may have been the nicest copy I've ever come across to a boardie that was desperately seeking one. Seeing this one in a 9.8 was a no-brainer for me. -
