RIP You can see a young George Olshevsky in this 1970 CBC piece on comic collecting (@1:35). He also had a long article in Overstreet 10 on the origin of Marvel Comics.

Happy 50th Birthday Swamp Thing! Post your Swamp Things!
Norrin_Radd replied to Timely's topic in Bronze Age Comic Books
I sold some of my uncle's comics a few years ago and as a commission I received his original owner Swamp Thing run. Here are the early issues... Very cool to read the early Wrightson/Wein issues. -

Ultimate Spider-Man Thread - show them if you got em

USM was my favorite title when I started reading/collecting comics in March 2001. Here is what I could find off hand. I have a few dozen more copies of early issues around somewhere. I would buy multiples of most issues. I bought the art from Spencer Beck's website not long after issue #7 came out. I tried to buy a few other splash pages on his site when new issues came out, but the best pages were always taken by the time I saw them. Here's a close-up... Love Ultimate Spider-Man. P.S. - I did successfully flip a few copies of white USM 1 for a good profit back in 2001/2002. -

I had a high grade copy back in 2009... But I sold it not long afterwards. Thankfully, I had the sense to pick up a decent raw copy two year later on eBay for $51.

As an early Tec fan, this caught my eye in the current auction. https://comics.ha.com/itm/golden-age-1938-1955-/detective-comics-1-26-bound-volumes-group-of-2-dc-1937-39-total-2-items-/a/7248-91042.s?ic4=ListView-Thumbnail-071515 -

Went through my small collection and picked out what I think are my ten favorite comics (five slabs and five raw) that represent my interests pretty well.

Garth Ennis's 'The Boys' the next Ennis series for TV!?
Norrin_Radd replied to Mr 9.8's topic in The Movie Forum
Just watched the first two seasons in the last two weeks. Never read the comic, but the show is entertaining (albeit very dark for my tastes). So now I've started reading the comic. Ten issues in. Entertaining but very different from the series. -
My copy. I'm a long-time fan of the Batman Beyond cartoon series so I was happy to pick up this copy back in February.

I hadn't heard of this series (haven't read any new comic series since 2011). But this recommendation from VikramK in the Invincible series thread caught my attention. "I buy everything Robert Kirkman writes. I’d recommend the following if you haven’t gotten them: - Firepower - IMO - shaping up to be better than Invincible" A bold claim. So as an Invincible fan I had to check it out. Just finished the prelude comic and I'm intrigued.

Let me start by saying I am a BIG Invincible fan. I read it in TPB form and would re-read from start to current volume every year. It is my favorite superhero comic series. I am very happy that this series is being turned into a cartoon for all to enjoy. Overall I am very pleased with this adaptation and looking forward to more. Critique in spoiler tags below...

I still have a few of those discs (sealed). And I still use my AOL email (since 1995). I remember when Metropolis sold a 4.0 Action #1 for $200,000 and it was decried as highway robbery (of the buyer) in the GA forum.
