Paypal preferred, check or MO on request; payment expected within 48 hours $5.00 shipping in US, international buyers welcome but must agree to pay shipping to your country Thanks for looking! SOLD!!!! 1954 Hardcover Seduction of the Innocent by Dr. Frederic Wertham. The big daddy! Great historical piece. In excellent condition - some minor wear on dustjacket covers and spine (see photos) but has nice mylar protective sleeve. Hardcover, spine and interior pages are in excellent condition. This is the 1954 first edition printing with publisher's circled "R" colophon on the copyright page, and includes the "Bibliograpical Note" photocopy insert. The historic importance of this book cannot be understated. To me, it's a must-have for any comic historian or fan of the history of our wonderful pop culture medium. 1954 pioneering (if not misguided) work by American psychiatrist Fredric Wertham, who warned that comic books were a negative form of popular literature and a serious cause of juvenile delinquency, that led to the creation of the comics code authority. So many amazing images of classic horror and "headlight" good girl art! Many of the books cited in the bibliography are now the most sought after and notorious comics of the golden age, pre-code era! THANK YOU!!
  2. Thanks - good idea - I may close this and try it there.
  3. Yes, this is a first edition - the R colophone is indicative of that. I will clarify that in the description. Thanks!
  4. One of the many things that made Jim Steranko unique was that he insisted on doing his own color guides, rather than relegating that task to a staff colorist. I am fortunate to have landed the color guides to a couple of Steranko Nick Fury stories, which were hand colored by Jim himself, and they are pretty spectacular to see how he envisioned them to look - they are definitely much more vibrant than the stories in the printed comic since newsprint at the time just didn't pop. Not to mention the amount of time he must've spent on some of the detail and shading. I've posted the complete Nick Fury story guides from Strange Tales 155 and Nick Fury Agent of Shield 2 in my CAF galleries (link below) but I'm posting a couple of images below also. Thanks for looking! Strange Tales 155: http://www.comicartfans.com/my/GalleryRoom.asp?GSub=187021 Nick Fury 2: http://www.comicartfans.com/galleryroom.asp?gsub=187150
