  1. The 27 is beautiful but has a coupon cut out of the back cover. When I get home tonight I'll look for the catalog that has all of the grades. Al graded conservatively, if I remember correctly. BTW, there's an interesting story about that 27 that I will regale people at a forum dinner.
  2. Weird, Scoop usually shows up pretty high in searches like that and they've covered it a few times. they referenced a few Lost valley sales, but I didn't see a description of the pedigree. Obviously I just didn't look hard enough I have floating around somewhere a Lost Valley catalog. The collection was headlined by very high grade early stuff - things you just never see. Complete sets of Wow, What a Magazine 1-4, very early (single digit) Detectives, stuff like that. Al's pricing was exceptionally aggressive, but he sold most of the big ticket books very early on. I know its heresy, but I would argue that on the VERY early stuff, the Lost Valley collection is equal to or better to the Church books. I have a bunch of Lost Valley books, they're quite nice.
  3. Well, this is MY favorite Golden Age publisher!
  4. Kudos to JeffB to a great deal on some nice Tales from the Crypt. Undergraded and well packaged. I'll be back!
  5. Walt Disney's Comics and Stories 4, Complimentary Copy. Gerber "9", listed as "Very Rare" by Overstreet with five known copies (this is the fifth copy, for years Overstreet listed four copies known). This is also for sale, please see the Marketplace for more info.
  6. Second appearance of Uncle Scrooge, but that's a tremendous price for that book.
  7. HUGE props to 143ksk for knocking All-Top 16 off my want list. The beautiful copy I coveted in Chicago is mineminemine. Thanks Steve!
  8. Not a Marvel, but a DC. Am looking to trade this for a FF 60 newsstand. The bizarre 35 cent variant of Amethyst 1, not listed in Overstreet.
  9. Thor and Hercules (both fought Superman in the late 50s/early 60s)
  10. First appearance of the Phantom Zone and General Zod!
  11. A little noticed "end of an era" issue - last Congorilla story:
  12. First White Kryptonite in a Superboy story:
