  1. Yea, modern slow track seems to have branched into 3 tiers: Luck of the Draw Tier: A few submissions are selected for expedited grading and shipped back to the customer within a few weeks of being received. Current Turnaround Based Tier: Books currently following the stated turnaround time from when they were delivered to CGC. The books being shipped now were officially received sometime in late July. Lost in a Parallel Dimension Tier: Books received sometime in June that have slipped through a crack in the system.
  2. Is this for modern slow track? Other than some June received submissions that are currently "misplaced", I believe CGC is now shipping books received in late July.
  3. Same here. My four 10/14 & 10/19 CGC received submissions have not been charged yet. Same with CCS. I have four 4/11 and five 6/23 received submissions that haven't been charged. I honestly wish they would charge all of them as soon as possible to A.) show there's some movement, and b.) the books haven't been "misplaced".
  4. Sent another 2 modern slow track submissions to CGC on Friday. Let's see if I hit jackpot on one of those and they go through expedited grading (the last 4 submissions sent in September didn't qualify).
  5. Anyone had their modern slow track submissions clear the CCS process recently? My main concern is that the problems we're currently seeing with submissions received back in late April / early May for just CGC grading will be even the worse with CCS. They probably haven't even gotten to the hoards of submissions they received after the price change. I could easily see the 196 TAT go up to 250 or more once they start going through the thousands of submissions received during that time. Heck, my 4/11 received submissions (prior to the price change) are still likely a couple of months away from being pressed. I have absolutely zero hope that my 6/23 submissions will see the light of day next spring or even summer.
  6. Since I typically only keep 25% of books submitted and sell the rest, I won't be stressing myself over the holidays if there are no updates on my submissions (November and December are typically really slow selling months for me anyway). Come January I'll be back on pins and needles again complaining about TAT's.. In contrast, I love the transparent update Joey provided on the CFP website. Basically, the office will be closed in December and no new submissions are being accepted for now. He also noted that he received 4 times as many books back in April (due to the CGC price changes) and has finally completed those.
  7. If there's a new facility, it is odd that only 1 or 2 submissions in each box are getting the speedy grading treatment. If think it's a combination of a lot of factors including, a new facility, new graders, keeping the flow of new submissions coming in with this lottery system, etc. Another thing to keep in mind is that if CGC's storage room is filled, the books received first are likely the hardest to get to. To avoid piling the new material on top of the old, grading a certain percentage of those new arrivals would help staff get access to the older submissions.
  8. I agree with others that they likely have the new inexperienced staff working on recent submissions so they are not overwhelmed with overdue submissions. It's all a shoot at this point. I sent in 4 submissions in mid September and none of them qualified for this speedy service.
  9. I honestly think that CGC has created a lottery system with the recent submissions to give people hope that they have a 1 in 5 or 1 in 10 chance to get lightning fast service. Perhaps they started seeing a slow down in modern submissions, so instead of having all submitters wait 5 months to get their books back, this lottery system gives some people a chance to potentially get their books back faster than ever. The reason why I think submissions have gone down considerably is because CGC is now opening packages received last week. The last we saw that was in the beginning of the pandemic, where submissions were really low. This lottery system may prompt more books to be submitted, until CGC catches up.
  10. On the positive side, it appears that CGC is receiving less submissions these days. Hopefully that'll give them time to catch up at some point.
  11. I hate to say this, but at this point I'd rather wait for my 13 submissions currently sitting at CGC/CCS instead of having to deal with some mechanical errors upon arrival. I consider myself super lucky that the last 2 submissions I received 2 weeks ago had no damage to the cases and were graded accurately.
  12. They really need to stop taking new submissions and get everything in order. The customers will come back when the product is good again.
  13. I'm still trying to figure out when all the new technology and staff CGC brought on board will start making a difference in turnaround times, QC and customer service. With the stimulus checks in the rearview mirror and the sizzling comic book market cooling off, I bet that a lot of customers wish they'd never sent in their books to be graded / pressed when CGC announced their price changes back in April,
  14. As was mentioned in a couple of pages before, once CCS presses the books, CGC will grade them within 2 to 3 weeks.
  15. Mine are still sitting at SFG since 4/11 (140 business days). In the past, CCS has charged my credit card about 2/3 or 3/4 of the time into the process.
  16. Will probably get worse with graders taking time off for the holidays.
  17. Are they modern slow track? Mine have been sitting at received since 4/11.
  18. I wish there was a simple explanation. Are the various submissions separated into 2 or 3 different batches to be graded by different groups of individuals? Does Team A enter these books in as G/E/I as soon as they enter the grading room, while Team B does that after they're graded? Have members of Team A been out sick or on vacation, which is causing some delays (especially with respect to the senior grader)? I have no idea.
  19. I thought I read somewhere that Matt Nelson (CCS) stated that CCS turnaround times should be back to normal by end of year. Good luck with that. On a positive note, CGC generally expedites grading for CCS books. Once CCS presses them, which could be another few months, CGC will grade them within 2-4 weeks.
  20. Something is going on here. I understand the speculation about a 2nd facility pushing some of the older submissions back. However, how did my 6/23 and 6/24 submissions jump over the ones that went into G/E/I a full week or 2 before mine. These were shipped back to me last week.
  21. I wonder what the modern slow track turnaround times would've been if CGC was not expediting certain submissions. Also, CCS turnaround times are now sitting at 200 business days. This is close to 1 full year. I'd be really pissed if they started expediting certain submissions as well.
  22. I was thinking the same thing with my submissions. I have 37 submissions (between 20 and 25 books each) currently sitting at either CGC or CFP. My comic book storage closet will barely fit a quarter of these books (taking into consideration all the CGC graded and raw books I have stored in there already). No idea where I'm putting the rest.
  23. Never mind, the 2 other submissions were just entered into the system.
