  1. It all depends on what you plan to do with the books. In general, I can still sell a 9.6 graded book on EBay for a few dollar profit than lose $8 per book if it does not come back a 9.8.
  2. If the new facility speculation proves to be true, CGC may have decided to separate newer submissions from the older ones to help clear up the clutter. With so many submissions "misplaced" they are likely avoiding just adding to the original pile.
  3. Who do I need to bribe to have my books sent to this new facility?
  4. Has this happened to anyone before? Two of my four slow modern submissions (delivered on 9/14) were officially received and recorded on 10/14. Now CGC is opening submissions delivered the week of 9/20 and no sign of my other 2 submissions, which were sent in the same box as the other ones. I just assumed that once CGC opened a package they would just record everything inside. It seems like now submissions are separated at birth.
  5. My 6/24 "received" slow track moderns were shipped on Friday. Was hoping for all 9.8's, but received 13 - 9.8's and 4 - 9.6's.
  6. I think you're calculations are based on total days and not business days. Based on the April 28th date it comes out to 117 business days, which is still over the current TATs. However, like I mentioned above, CGC is only including a 1 month span between delivered to received packages now.
  7. I agree with that. Plus, it eliminates having people trying to figure out what 106 or 186 business days actually mean.
  8. One of my 4 submissions received on 9/13 was officially received today.
  9. I think CGC is calculating the current TATs by taking the business day difference between books shipped and received and then tacking on the additional 4 to 5 weeks they're currently taking to open packages. If the delivered to received time span was much longer 4 months ago, they're not factoring that into their calculations. The current 106 business day time frame is basically mid June to mid October plus the one month it's currently taking them to open packages. I doubt they're factoring in the additional month some of us has to deal with when waiting for packages to be officially received.
  10. That's a good question. CGC staff may be using current time estimates between delivered and received packages (around 1 month) vs. what was happening back in June (over 2 months). What I mean is that the current 106 business day TAT only takes into consideration 1 month of delivered to received time frame.
  11. One week to go until my 4 submissions are received.
  12. Well this is an unexpected shocker. These books were just shipped. My 6/24 is still at SFG. Best case scenario was 24 - 9.8's & 1 - 9.4. I got 21 - 9.8's, 3 - 9.6's & 1 - 9.4. I'll take it.
  13. I think CGC values slow track modern submissions when business is relatively slow. It keeps their staff busy, while concentrating on turning a good profit on fast track, walk thru, in-house signings, etc. submissions with relatively low TATs. However, once things get super busy, the slow track modern submissions become an albatross around CGC's necks. They have likely made the decision to concentrate on more profitable tiers and risk temporarily losing 30-40% of their modern submissions for the near future. They know these customers will come back when TATS go back down to around 40 days.
  14. My MST received on 6/23 finally went into G/E/I. Let's see how long it'll take to go into grading/QC.
  15. I get the feeling that due to the tens of thousands of submissions received back in early May, CGC may be adopting a different grading approach for the time being. Instead of falling even further behind on expedited or recent submissions, they may be taking a month on/off approach. What I mean is that they'll spend a month trying to make a dent into this huge pile, press the pause button, and spend the next month approaching their business like this pile does not exist. This approach will at least keep fast track and new customers relatively happy. If this is the case, I can certainly see modern slow track submissions received in July not being graded until early next year.
  16. Instead of putting out existing fires first, CGC seems to be concentrating on in-house signings and grading recently submitted modern submissions. Their thinking is that older customers will be unhappy with the turnaround times no matter what.
  17. As someone mentioned above, it appears that CGC pressed the pause button on regular slow modern track submissions a couple of weeks ago, to likely try out this new expedited system for recent submissions.
  18. Your books were probably the last ones placed into storage room A, and now CGC staff can't even open the door to get in.
  19. Unfortunately, most of these books are still within the current TATs. I have some books that were delivered to CCS back in March, but I still haven't hit the current 186 day TAT. These books were received on 4/11 but haven't been charged yet. My 6/23 and 6/24 modern grading submissions are about a week overdue (based on current TATs). However, I haven't called since I've noticed some submissions 2 weeks older than mine haven't been graded either.
  20. I have 15 submissions in and haven't seen any change since June.
  21. This is what I don't get with some of the expedited grading we've been seeing. If books marked as received back in June are still shown as SFG (like my 6/23 and 6/24 submissions), I could understand them being in a room with a pile of thousands of other submissions, causing the delay in grading. However, if your books were already picked out and in the grading process (after months of wait), CGC should explain why books received months later are jumping ahead of the line. Again, these are not fast track submissions.
  22. At minimum they should stop doing the live signing events until they can at least clean house and account for all the "misplaced" packages. The key to everything is organization. For example, if I get lazy and temporarily stop putting my raw and CGC graded books in alphabetical order, I pay for it later breaking my back going through 15 long boxes to find something. If the recently hired CGC staff was placing thousands of submissions on top of each other without any rhyme or reason, it'll be months before these misplaced submissions are found. I just pray that at least the books are still safe and sound.
  23. Thank you for the input. I have 4 new submissions that will be received in the next week or 2. Let's see how that goes.
  24. If CGC wanted to go this route, they should've just raised their prices and not given people a chance to get their submissions in before the price hike. However, they likely wanted to boost their inventory. In any case, I wish they would update their turnaround times for modern slow track (currently listed at 106 business days). I'm at 111 days right now and still at SFG, while others are sitting at over 120 days.
