  1. Ending tomorrow evening! https://www.ebay.com/itm/293193121957
  2. https://www.ebay.com/itm/293184693655 Hi all, It's been a while since I've visited and have mostly lurked, but I wanted to give folks a heads-up that I have my Tomb of Terror 16 on eBay. It's a low-grade reader copy, but is intact and presents nicely. Unfortunately my phone died so I only have the pic of the FC right now. I should be able to get some BC and interior shots in the next day or so. -Winston
  3. Enfys Nest was bad azz. I'd love to see more of that character and the story of that group and their efforts. Hell, I wanna do cosplay of the character.
  4. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if it's a terrible one like yours
  5. The Last Jedi was anything but a disaster. Great movie. Hope to get my copy for Father's Day
  6. My first pre-code pickup in a long while. Was at a cool LCS and couldn't pass up this cheap beat-but-complete copy! I wonder who pried it out of Bobby L's clearly unwilling hands...
  7. Solo was great. Really entertaining, nice call-backs/references, and quick pacing for such a long movie (I would have bet it was 1:30 instead of 2:15, it goes by that quickly). If you're on the fence and have any interest in Star Wars movies, I'd recommend you see it this weekend.
  8. Horror comics are less about character popularity and more about striking visuals -- especially iconic covers. HOS 92 has that in spades.
  9. Not as bad as it could be, but still enough to make you wince. But almost every Magic player that had the old cards has a story like that. Very few actually held onto all of them through thick and thin. Life happens, your interests drift, and their value at the time becomes a resource you can put toward other things. C'est la vie
  10. Oh, it's worse Without knowing what you had in terms of Alpha, Beta, and Unlimited, Even if you had the cheapest versions of all of that stuff, you're easily around $25k counting the 40 duals and the partial AN and LG sets. When you start upgrading the Unlimited stuff to Alpha and Beta, we could be talking double that figure or more depending on how much of it you had and which cards were A/B. Alpha has finally come into its own in the MTG collector world, as everyone now recognizes just how rare that first print run is.
  11. I think in the long term you did fine, regardless of the book's current value. However, I would NOT have Stan sign the book, nor Ian McDiarmid (doesn't appear until Jedi). I would consider adding David Prowse (Vader). Harrison Ford is also an auto-include, but likely not possible. Hopefully you love the franchise, because that's a cool book/sigs regardless of value.
  12. Well, that was a good one to keep! Around $300 now give or take.
  13. I'm a big Magic: The Gathering player and collector. Much bigger than comics, actually. Lately, I've been selling off my comics to buy more of the original Magic cards from the first few sets. Speaking of which, if anybody has old (1993-1994 era) Magic cards that they'd like to trade for comics or even cash, hit me up Here are a few pick-ups from earlier this year:
  14. This *could* be a stamp from Italy. "Napoli" is the Italian city we would call Naples. and "L. 130" could be 130 Lira, the Italian currency prior to the Euro. 130 Lira converts to 8 cents at the last exchange rate before it became obsolete in 1999. 8 cents is in the right ballpark for a comic in 1967 (the conversion rate was certainly different at the time).
  15. Well, he's may favorite comic artist (considering the entirety of his work) and created my favorite character in Swamp Thing. I got the chance to meet him shortly before his health took its last downward turn, and was bowled over by how nice he was. After the last tumor discovery and subsequent surgery, I followed his progress closely and (like many others) posted words of encouragement when his wife Liz would give us all updates on Bernie's Facebook page. So while he wasn't a personal friend, there was a personal connection. That's why.
  16. More like you're being insensitive, and you got rightfully called on it. Don't be an arschloch.
  17. I'm still ecstatic with my $40 Amazon.com copy that I lucked into last year
  18. Be safe. The rainfall totals will be nothing compared to Harvey, but wind/surge damage from a Cat 5 hit on Miami will be bad. Fortunately for you guys, I think that "more devastating than Harvey" is going to be a very tough hurdle to clear.
  19. Sweet! I'd love a copy like that. Still kicking myself for being a CGC snob in 2016 and not getting my Swamp Thing 9 signed by Bernie and slabbed by the other guys. The CGC reps were flakes and didn't even show up that day, whereas the other guys were like 20' away from Bernie with a sweet booth (take note CGC).
  20. Please try to incorporate all of your ideas into one post. Edit it if needed. This is not a chatroom. Thanks!
  21. Looks like the entire "starburst" of creasing on the spine between the "12 cents" and the first word bubble has been colored brown with marker. I'm thinking Spiderturtle is right. EDIT: On further inspection, it appears to me that almost all of the creasing in the brown section has the brown marker touch-up.
  22. All I can say is that the restorer did a masterful job. I can't even tell anything was replaced; they matched the wear on the rest of the book... amazing!
  23. Saw the movie with my wife and son yesterday, and we had a great time! It was just a fun movie.
