  1. It's the CGC case that he signed. The book isn't SS and it isn't a qualified label. Plus, you can kinda tell by looking at it.
  2. Sweet book, and appropriate for today.
  3. That's a cool cover, Brando-! I can imagine that those are tough in 9.8. I happened to find this on Amazon.com late last week, thanks to some lucky Google searching. For the price I paid, I assumed that it was going to be one of the reprints. It wasn't. A first appearance Swampy to call my own! When my wife saw it, she said "Wow, that's gorgeous!" I agree. This cover is just
  4. A lucky Google search late last week turned up an Amazon link that led to this - for less than it cost my wife, my son, and me to see Doctor Strange yesterday! A Swampy to call my own
  5. This movie was a trip! I really enjoyed it, as did my wife and son. Apparently my wife *really* liked it, because she said that she wants to see it again! This from someone who is pretty much sick of superhero movies (she didn't even go with us to see Civil War).
  6. Nice! I hope you like it. I just picked up Vol. 6 of the TPB this week. Duuuuude. So cool.
  7. I'm assuming it has TBPs for me to get caught up, or is it a recent startup? Will check. The series stared ~2011 if I remember correctly, and it just finished this year. Yes, there are individual TPBs that collect several issues at time, but the omnibus just came out which collects all of the issues (42). Had I not already started getting the TPBs, I'd get the omnibus. It's a monster at 900-ish pages! Terry Moore sells the omnibus from his website, but your LCS may also carry it. http://www.terrymooreart.com/ Ordered the omnibus from instocktrades.... previewed the art on youtube and looks interesting...thanks! At .05 per page the omnibus feels like a great bargain. Awesome, let us know how you like it!

  9. My favorite horror series (so far) is actually a modern book: Rachel Rising. I had heard good things for a while, but just looked into it as the series was ending (which just happened). I'm about halfway through the TPBs now. Really good stuff. I can't recommend it enough, especially if you like horror, suspense, and Good vs. Evil type stuff.
  10. Awesome! Classic flying squirrel clubbing cover
  11. Cool books! That *giant* skull on the Feature seems almost out of place since the rest of the cover looks so wholesome. Clearly you-know-who's influence!
  12. I like that one. If not for the ghoulies in the background, you might link that "Mr. Lucifer" wasn't such a bad guy. He almost looks benevolent! Very nice! Love that cover.
  13. I agree with this. I read the first few pages and put it down, but I'll pick it up and finish it. I want it to be good... maybe I'll like it better when I pick it up again. Not really feeling the art, and I think that's my biggest hurdle. "Pa" being some sort of hulked-out Jeff-Bridges-as-Obadiah-Stane (Iron Man movie) seemed really silly. In general I just don't like the SUPEREXTREME art style, I guess. Just as well, I'm buying enough stuff as it is
  14. Nobody's posted this one, so I get to play even with my limited GA collection ?
  15. These zombies are not well-dressed, but the mail fairy dropped this beauty off today so I though I'd post it up for your enjoyment. Rough condition, but in all the right places (i.e. mostly not affecting the cover artwork):
  16. That's a sweet book! Hadn't seen that one yet. I love how the monster is using a broken buggy/wagon wheel as a morningstar mace!
  17. Well, somebody managed to slab a 9.8. There's one in the registry now
  18. Beautiful book! The body position of the lady in red is especially well done. She's clearly in... agony?
  19. Cool shrunken head cover, oceanavekid! And I love the slime cover of that Vault of Horror, atomic1950's. I hadn't seen that one before. Wow, you're right! I hadn't realized how many of the horror cover tropes this one hit. I just knew I loved it! +1 with such a classic as the foundation of your collection, please let us know what else you buy. It's always interesting to see what a newcomer likes Thanks! Feeling very welcome here. I'll absolutely be posting my PCH acquisitions for everyone's enjoyment I've got one more on the way...
  20. Chris C. with Bedrock City "warned" me that many collectors eventually end up in the Golden Age. Well, here's my first PCH purchase, and certainly not my last. I feel lucky to have snagged my absolute favorite PCH cover (of those I've seen, anyway) right off the bat, because my budget drives me toward "beat but complete" copies. This one was the right mixture of price and condition/eye appeal, and I couldn't be happier!
