    sounds fair, and one should also consider that the one on ebay was on the lower end of a .5 id say, missing 2cfs plus a 6th page on top of having BP. Whereas, some .5s can just be missing the back cover with better PQ etc.

    There actually was quite abit of controversy in regards to cap 1, as it was before the US entered the war and there were American Nazi parties in NYC. Kirby and Simon received death threats, and people were protesting outside of the timely offices.

    I think the cover plays a big part in the rise too especially as now classic covers seem to be a really hot market. It's an incredible cover, one of the best super-hero GA covers if not the best IMO I personally love the colors, the patriotism, cap punching Hitler, it's also the first ever Hitler cover!

    No club for one of the best covers of all time? With the recent "discovery" of the church copy, now's as good as any time I think for its own thread. I know some of you guys have amazing copies of this book so please lets see them I will also take this chance to ask if anyone has or knows of a coverless copy (Does not need to have the elusive centerfold!) I would greatly appreciate it! Here is my entry-level copy I just picked up, glad it presents well with all major art intact including the Schomburg signature at the bottom left!

    I have seen a low grade copy with the exact same color defect and label, so there are probably some more error copies out there as well.
