  1. All the EC war in the collection thus far, including the two issues of Frontline Combat that I bought last year and my first purchase of 2018, were bought from one eBay seller.
  2. My other issue of Battlefront and last three purchases of 2017 came from a comic dealer friend of mine who collects horror books and plays the bass guitar
  3. My collection also contains one Soldier Comics #8 which Fawcett published March 1953. I feel Bob Butts perfectly captures this combat medic's reaction to a truly horrifying situation. He calls out in desperation for additional vital bodily fluid needed by his wounded patient just moments after an enemy sniper's bullet has shattered the receptacle that once held its life-giving liquid:
  4. If given the choice between the two, I'd honestly rather have the Marvel Premiere #28
  5. @ADAMANTIUM You could also show that book off in both of these topics:

"The Silent Jet!" is reminiscent of "The Eagle-- And the Wolves!" from the first DC issue of the title. Which story do you prefer?
  7. Kubert's great cover, unfortunately, has nothing to do with any of its inside stories. How suspenseful would "The Long Walk to Wonsan!" have been if it had featured an American G.I. struggling against his aquatic foe while said Nazi frogman holds dynamite? The sinking assault craft paints a haunting picture that visually explains what likely resulted in this dramatic scene.
  8. To illustrate the difference between the EC and Atlas styles, here are two books from my collection with similar cover concepts but different thematic approaches:
  9. Those are very common occurrences on many covers published by them. The aerial tramway to a SAAF weather station setpiece is to me that AAMOW issue's most interesting aspect. I also love Grandenetti's use of perspective and other little details.
  10. Cool! Isn't that the first time Pooch was white on the cover?
  11. Any thoughts on the cover of All-American Men of War #10 and how the accompanying feature compares to it?
  12. Thanks! Both it and the Man Comics #16 were purchased on eBay from a seller in Canada.
  13. How realistic is the scenario on the cover of Star Spangled War Stories #25 and is the corresponding first story any better?
  14. I found the movie in HD and watched it at two times the normal speed but did not see the above scene.
  15. @1950's war comics Wow! A book so rare that it doesn't exist?
