  1. I usually do my Max bid 7 sec before ending then confirm 1-2 sec before. I'd say I have a pretty good win record with satisfying prices. I'm rarely outbid by a penny, fifty cents or dollar. If I'm still in the auction at 3 seconds left, it's probably going to be mine. Most of my tap outs happen an hour or half hour before ending. That's usually for books I'm not sure the value of. I have a price in mind then the bids soar in $50 to $100 increments, and I take a K.O. Don't sweat a loss though, there will always be another chance.
  2. I love going to cons for the atmosphere and the hunt. But it seems recently I get overly excited to find the books on my want list (mostly keys/semi keys) and then when I do the prices don't set well with me. 95% of the time I say "man I should just hold back because I could get it much cheaper online." (A mentality that comic dealers must hate) Sometimes I pay a little more depending, and of course I love having the book right away vs playing the waiting game. I'm buying less and less at cons now. Now it's basically just getting autographs and photo ops.
  3. I don't think it's a bad thing, really. I'm still a big fan. I understand the point of cliffhangers. Sometimes it's just frustrating. But after watching Talking Dead and hearing Kirkman say that the way it ended was because its how this story is supposed to end. The reveal and the aftermath of that will be the start of a new story. Game of Thrones will be on soon and that will distract me.
  4. I am betting Daryl because I think they will continue the Glenn fake out. It's time for a big character to get snuffed. I was mostly betting Daryl because he has that new show...however I didn't know it was only a short series so that has me raising an eyebrow. My second guess is Abraham as he is probably the only one who could withstand one hit and not fall. Aaron...lame...Eugene...lame. If they make us wait all this time to see a secondary character bite it...ugh. I'm surprised some of you guessed Maggie. I don't think the show would take that route. Man I bet the cast are living a sh*t storm of people bribing them for the answer..,or even a clue. If I could be told the real truth I would want to know. Would you guys? Or is the wait exciting?
  5. So The Walking Dead #9 has been on my want list for awhile but I've yet to pounce on it. Been watching it on eBay and a month ago most bids didn't go over 30-35 now they're going up over 50-60...I'm slapping myself for not buying sooner. These Walking Dead prices are driving me so nuts it's laughable. Perhaps this is old news but dang...I feel like lately they are stupid expensive. Especially the early ones. Yes it just drives me nuts cuz I don't have 40 dollars to spend per book to get a good run going. Lord have mercy. Where was I ten years ago?? Yes I get it. Low print run. Most popular show on TV. But man...its killin my collecting dreams. /vent
